| Would you date a cop?
Posted: 1/26/2008 7:18:00 AM | Well biggest reason alot of people including me would say no about dating a cop is!
Did you know a cop if wanted can find out any and everything about you and not just about criminal stuff. Yep they could find out about all your finacial stuff /where you go & what you do even in your spare time. And god forbid what if they happened to be a jealous type of person !! Then they could make your life a living Hell.
Oh sure there maybe some nice cops for sure and thats is true . But if they became jealous and distrusted you even the slightest they could make your life a real night mare. So I would prefer never to date any cop .As I don't need someone who carries a gun go freaking out and maybe making my life a living hell.

Posted: 1/26/2008 9:02:48 AM | | No an officer can't just do a search.Each and every officer must input his/her unique pin code when doing a search on cpic.You can actually go to your local police and request a print out of each and every search done on you thru cpic.If you see that there are un warranted searches you can bring this up with the police services board and the officer doing it could be fired or reprimanded. | |

Well I can tell yeah it happends and anyone knows cops don't always use protocal's even at work! But if you get turned on by the uniform then go for them ! I am not sure why a police officer would be jealous. What was meant by that? Are you dating his/her spouse/girlfriend? 
Just like anything else; the bad apples make it difficult for others. I have police officers as friends, and they are great people. Generalizing is foolish. | |

Everytime an Officer (Police, MTO, MOE, and some Bylaw Officers) runs a plate, VIN, or DL through Paris or Aris...A record is kept of the action... | |

Also in my experience the people who tend towards positions of minor authority are not people I would enjoy being around. | |

1)Arresting people fro non-illegal drug smoking
Response;Last time I checked it was illegal to smoke weed.Criminal code of Canada has lots of info.
2)Enforcing ridiculous regulations on businesses.
Response.What regulations?Like not poisoning our air and water? Or actually looking after the workers that work for them?Protecting the environment and the very peoples sweat that they make their money off doesn't seem too much a price to pay.
3)Taking peoples property because the state deems them criminals.
Response:Most "criminals" get a trial by their peers and as such get convicted by us therefore are found guilty and therefore forfeit all proceeds from their crimes.

They have crazy shifts and Too high risks, that they do not get paid enough for the job they do!
They are ppl just like anyone else, however too much Crazy stuff happens daily/nightly the "what if they don't make it home factor" would make me sick.( unless they are the pencil pusher/ office / lab police officers :P | |

Note: police officers are not always perfect and they do not always follow the rules. When she is out of uniform you will find that she is off duty and not a cop. She takes on the persona of who she was before she was a cop. When in uniform she will take on the persona of the police officer. When you see her in uniform you will see a cop. Therefore, what is the big deal in dating a cop out of uniform? Since women can be manipulative and vengful the only thing that would worry me about dating a cop is if things did not work out. I would be worried of what she would be able to do to you with being in law enforcement! Nothing worse than a womens scorn!  | |

It takes a particular or should I say peculiar person to be a cop these people tend to have no direction or understanding in life. Yes we need law enforcement but today this society is out of control officers are now judge and jury they have to much power.
If you wish to have no life or friends other than those in your profession be a cop. I dated one for some time and that is all she did lived breathed slept talked cop, cop, cop.
All her friends were cops her family were cops a number of my friends stopped associating with me because they felt uneasy around her.
I felt uneasy around her after a while as to how she and her friends would discuss what they had done to some poor schmuck over the littlest thing.
No remorse and total disregard toward people as if they got off on destroying peoples lives. If you want to have nowhere life be a cop date a cop.
Now I look at them as just being a giant rat in uniform good luck. | |

However that being said when one has run in the bad police officer (those officers I believe are at risk of charting a very fine line between themselves and the potential criminal) it is unfortunate that a person then considers all officers of the law bad. That being said...........not in a million would I ever date a police officer, a detective maybe but, not likely. If we saw all the things, crime , murders , senseless deaths from traffic accidents, deviants..................maybe we would not be such good guys either. There is obviously a lot of baggage in a police officers life. That is my viewpoint. | |

I have met policewomen and policemen and, as with members of any other profession, there are good and bad, luckily many more good - those who handle the stress better than others. The important thing to remember about her, and any members of the police community, is that they were people before they were police.
Some of the things she has seen or will see will be terribly stressful on her, on any normal human. Be patient and supportive. | |
