Absolutely smoked them but my buddy is so competitive that he was yelling at me the whole time. The next day I went to orientation to my new job and saw one of the guys there. Became instant friends and was hanging out with him and his buddies for the next 3 months...the whole time not knowing they were refering to me Chunkstyles behind my back because of what I was wearing when we played tennis that first day (plus I've always been a chunky guy). When I found out the name they thought I would be pissed but I thought it was the most creative nickname anyone had given me and it stuck. Over time it got shortened to Styles cause they were usually not sober enough to say the full name without slurring it. The 88 is because Eric Lindros used to be my favorite player and I've never dropped it. | |

It's usually said in a endearing or sarcastic way like when I would be a smart ass to my auntie from Holland she always calls me juffie.

Previous nicks:
93-current: GossG (employer gave me a last name first initial userid. Despite the layoff in 03, this userid is still my default ID on most sites.)
93 - 98: Oreo or Oreo Pasquale: A BBS I belonged to was holding a pizza night. A rather inebriated guy was going around assigning italian names to everyone to go with the italian food. I became Darrio. I mentioned that I would have to ask my friend Pasquale if Darrio was a real Italian name and this guy suddenly insisted that he now knew my FULL name. When we returned home and climbed onto the chat channel, I changed my handle to Darrio Pasquale. The next day the chat handle was still changed, and we were having a discussion about bad habits, especially food. I claimed to be 50% DQ Blizzard by weight and changed the chat handle to Oreo Pasquale to go with the Blizzard discussion. For some reason it stuck and became my chat handle for five years or so till I stopped using pseudo-based chats.
84 - 93: Purple, the Magician or Purple Magician, or just Purple. When I first started hanging out on the BBSs in 1984, I discovered that pseudos were expected. I took Purple from a novel that I had just read, where the central character was called Purple to his confusion. It was a translation glitch. The character was patterned on Asimov, and the translator rendered that "As a colour - shade of purple gray" while trying for "As a mauve".
76 - 81: Green Sardine or just the Sardine: I was a small car fan when econoboxen weren't cool. I'm also extremely large. In the CB world, your car was the central core of your identity. The contrast between the largest guy in the group having the smallest car was a memorable thing about me. It also downplayed any trace of macho. I've always been rather anti-macho. | |

gal cause I am one... not really that oringal.
and no I am not one of those that it's CHEV or nothing... just the last vechile and this current one are both CHEV's so it's kinda fitting. | |

I'm thinking of getting a dog in the spring. Of course that name will have to come from a movie as well. Any suggestions? | |
