| Leafs Posted: 3/6/2007 6:59:15 PM | Very nice win for the Leafs tonight. Raycroft finally got another shut-out which is amazing and the Leaf slip into 8th place with the win.
Hmmm times are a changing in more ways than one
LEAFS WIN !!! lol | |
|
| Leafs Posted: 3/7/2007 1:37:10 PM | Oh yes a huge win last night especially it being a home game where they just havent seemed to do well so far this season. I am sure the boos would of been the loudest the ACC has ever had if they lost there again lol
I think the consevative approach at home games should be the way to go from here on in. The fans want to see an entertaining game but they Leafs shouldnt worry about how the goal is scored but just to score goals and play smart defensively.
Speaking of defence the latest report on Kaberle says he will be out the rest of the regular season thanks to Jannsen! Didnt see the hit live but saw the video on youtube and it sure was ugly and Jannsen got the penalty he deserved. Kaberle was out cold for 90 seconds which for a concussion is pretty bad!
The Rangers and Bruins are still in the hunt for a playoff spot with the Leafs so it will be an interesting race down the stretch. McCabe and Kubina will need to play better with Kaberle out if they want to make the playoffs.
Tough couple games coming up against the Sens for a home and home series. Some huge points up for grabs there!
Justme your Sens are going down lol Go Leafs go

It is just the end of the first and the boys are down by two already. Now I have lost the TV to my son and his new (today) Wii. Looks like I am not missing much anyway.

| Leafs Posted: 3/8/2007 6:04:39 PM | No you're not... it's our typical Ottawa spanking we always get (4-1) | |
|
| Leafs Posted: 3/8/2007 7:27:20 PM | ouch that sure hurt and hopefully we can split it with a big win at home! To loose in a shootout would of been better than to be spanked like we did tonight! We would of picked up a point at least lol.
Well we will see on Saturday if the Leafs can bounce back if not then that will be a huge blow to our playoff chances!
I think we can bounce back just go over the tapes from the game against the Caps from the other night! lol
I predict a much closer game though but leafs will come out on the winning end. May go to a shootout but Im sure Paul will get the boys ready as the Leafs are still in the hunt for the playoffs!
Go Leafs go!! | |

|
| Leafs Posted: 3/9/2007 6:44:55 AM | And girls It's just mad how we get all worked up for possibly a good Leaf win (and a much need win) & get shot down & disappointed | |
|
| Leafs Posted: 3/10/2007 11:16:06 AM | Well maybe its a good thing I wont be able to see the whole game tonight but if they do come back to win big tonight then Ill be missing a good game :(
This game will be huge and another loss tonight will really put a damper on their playoff chances. They must get a least a point but 2 points is really what they should be aiming for!
The race for playoff spots is getting intteresting and so the Leafs need to keep pace and not rely on other teams to fall in the standings to get the Leafs in there.
Watched the Chris Simon hit on Hollweg a few times on youtube now and wow he almost decapitated the guy!
i sure hope he gets the maximum suspension and I guess the NHL hasnt changed from the Bertuzzi incident at all :(
Enjoy the game tonight though im crossing my fingers for a Leafs win Go Leafs go

| Leafs Posted: 3/10/2007 11:25:55 AM | Yes a win by the leafs is really needed right now .But when you think about it if the leafs get the final playoff spot they will likely play buffalo in the first round and if the sabres are halfway healthy the leafs don't have a chance in hell anyway ,so might as well get the disappiontment over sooner rather than later for the Toronto Make Belief fans ..
Maybe the leafs could ask the league for permission to put both goalies in net at the same time to improve there chances of winning ,but i doubt even that would help them ...hahahahahahahahha.....The Toronto Maple Losers .....heheheheheheehe
|
| Leafs Posted: 3/10/2007 5:42:50 PM | | Who is getting "all worked up" for a Leafs win? When we play Ottawa I don't have much hope anymore. Both them and Buffalo seem to have too much speed and talent top overcome on a regular basis. Those days of saying "Well the Sens will choke when we play then and it counts in the playoffs" are over. The chances of ever meeting the Sens in the playoffs now are remote. Beyond that unlike "back in the day" we can't clutch and grab and stifle their talent with "Heart". Now they call the penalties in the playoffs just like the regular season and the Buds are too slow to keep up with the elite teams in the league. Too slow translates into penalties and power play goals that become losses. I can't say I have ANY optimisum for the Leafs chances these days, it is the 8O's again and unless they rebuild we will have a 7th to 10th place team on the ACC ice. How many of us remember those dark days? How many see the similarites between the teams? I am not even watching them anymore, why bother, they will only break my heart again? | |

| Go Leafs Go! 2006-2007 season!! Posted: 3/10/2007 6:28:47 PM | I'm a fan of all canadian teams and want them to make the playoffs. The more canadian teams who make the palyoffs, the better the chances are of the cup comming back to Canada. So although I'm a Sens fan, I want the Leafs to win tonight, they really need the 2 points.

| Go Leafs Go! 2006-2007 season!! Posted: 3/11/2007 7:22:33 PM | well im kicking myself now as i thought once we were down 3-1 that it was over but i should of known better as the leafs sure showed they arent done and still have a mission to make the playoffs!
Didnt see the comback as i was busy last night lol but my man Tucker pulled through with the OT goal
So maybe we should tell the fat lady to stay away as its not time for her to sing
Rangers won today and the move into a playoff spots with the Islanders so that moves the Leafs down. i beleive Leafs are in 9th now with the Rangers win in the shootout against the Canes.
Tampa Bay in town on Tuesday.

| Go Leafs Go! 2006-2007 season!! Posted: 3/13/2007 4:00:29 PM | Just over a half hour away until game time between the Leafs and visiting Tampa Bay. Leafs.
With a win tonight the Leafs can move back into a playoff spot and it sure will help if the Rangers, Canes and Habs dont gain any points as well.
Tucker, Wellwood and noq Peca is talking about coming back before the end of the regular season. Also Kaberle is back on skates so thats great news! Hopefully its not too late as there isnt many games left to secure the playoff spot. We are so close so it sure would be a shame if the Leafs dont make it for a 2nd year in a row.
Tough game tonight against the Lightning and hopefully the momentum from the game against the Sens will carry on to this game.
game is on TSN @ 7:30

I hardly watched the game but liked what I saw and well they really had a strong D tonight. A few mix-ups but other than that it was 2 points for the Blue and White. Makes me wanna buy a Leaf's flag all of a sudden

|
| Go Leafs Go! 2006-2007 season!! Posted: 3/17/2007 9:34:09 AM | 3 more losses for the Leafs and it could be golf season !!!
They must win NO fewer than 8 games (they have only 11 games left to play). This will give the Leafs 93 points. And even that is NOT guaranteed a playoff spot.
The 06-07 season has seen a lot more OT and shootout games, therefore they may need 94 points or more to make it. We could see at least 8 teams with 100+ points.
Do the math guys. | |

| Go Leafs Go! 2006-2007 season!! Posted: 3/18/2007 6:40:15 AM | Being a Leafs fan, I have to ask you all an important question. How would you feel about the Maple Leafs finishing DEAD last, if not at the end of next season, but the following season after that (2008-09)?
I'm sure many of you have heard of John Tavares (or J.T.), the junior hockey player for the Oshawa Generals, who broke Wayne Gretzky's record for goals and points as a 16-yr old. This kid WILL be the #1 draft pick, most likely in 2009. The NHL team that finishes LAST place will have the best chance to acquire this very talented player.
The Maple Leafs are NOT going to win the Stanley Cup for a long time. As a GM, I would be getting rid of ALL of my veteran players, trade all of them for draft picks and REBUILD. The Oilers got lucky when they acquired Gretzky, and won 3 Stanley Cups with him. The Penguins drafted Lemieux, the Red Wings drafted Yzerman, Hurricanes drafted Staal, and the Lightning drafted all of those players... etc.... you see where I'm going with this??? All the Maple Leafs have to do is get lucky ONCE !!! just once.
I'm tired of this team losing year after year !!
