JJ: yeah your right i didnt say you couldnt bash the leafs and i welcome open debate for or against the leafs lol. Just bad timing as I am trying to get some hooter shooters also and so far that isnt working lol.

Posted: 9/19/2006 7:18:16 PM | I loved Tie Domi as a player, well, except for when he started to blackmail the Leafs organization into paying him for another 2-yr contract. JFJ then signed him for 2 more years, with Domi only to play one of those years. JFJ then bought out his contract for this season.
Domi should have been let go by the Leafs after the lockout. He was ineffective as a player and an enforcer last season. I was disappointed that Ferguson played hardball with Gary Roberts of all people, who wanted to play 2 more years here, but then caved in to Tie Domi's demands.
During late last season, as the trading deadline approached, Domi then threatened to retire if Ferguson tried to trade him to another team. Again, Ferguson caved in. This guy is supposed to be a GM?
I'll try not to hold Domi's last year as a Leaf against him. It was the only thing I didn't like about him. As for Ferguson.... don't get me started on him. | |

Honestly, there are just a handful of canadian teams in the NHL that when it comes to a game (one that doesn't involve leafs vs. sens) I cheer for a canadian team. There are a lot of Leafs fans in the Ottawa area too.

a good second period I missed the first unfortunately :(
It seems to me like a lot of people are attacking Domi. He is a great person and did a lot for sick and disabled kids here in the Toronto area. Sure he wasnt an offensive star but he was tough and never backed down from anyone 
It was funny to see him break his previous season record for goals scored lol.
Domi will be missed but I think it was time for him to call it a career!

I've heard from a friend who is close to the LEAFS that they are going all out right now to land a right winger in the same salary range as Kaberle. The rumour has them trading one of their top two defensemen, Kaberle or McCabe. The guy coming here is 26 or 27 years old and had over 70 pts last year.
I'll keep you posted if I hear anything else before it hits the newspapers. | |

No way in hell they will let Kaberle or McCabe go as of right now they sit in the top 10 for defencmen now. If they let Kaberle go as a FA and McCabe go last year I can see then.
They don't need anyone now. Wellwood is what 24 ? Steen 22 ? Ondrus 24 I think | |

Agreed.
McCabe / Kaberle both have no trade clauses in their contracts. so it wouldn't matter, even if JFJ wanted to trade them (which he doesn't), it won't happen.

yeah i cant see them letting mccabe or kaberle go its not worth it. We need good defense to be successful. I cant see us trading away one of those two or both to get better defense either.
