ok joannemeow, I'll bet you $1000 that if you send me an email I respond to it. If you choose to accept this bet I will regard this forum as a legal document to ascertain the funds. It is also duly noted that sending me an email will serve as acceptance of this wager. Please hurry and send me an email, I need to money!!!!!!!!!

Careful Joanne...that stinker is after your money...LOL!!!
John....so you're saying I don't have to email everyone back? When you and Ripley come to an agreement let me know because you both make sense to me. It does seem rude to not send a thanks but no thanks, but then again, I have gotten a couple nasty emails back once I sent a thanks but no thanks. I simply ignored them. Ahhh, what to do, what to do... LOL

Robin,

It doesn't matter what you do. You can't satisfy everyone so just do what you think is good for you.

If people are on this site, they have to get used to rejection and not hearing back from people. It's normal for that to happen and that is the case on pretty much all the sites.

Tony, you're going to think I'm stalking you...hehehe. (A nice guy by the way.)
Just browsing the threads and feel like typing...lol.
I made a pact (to myself) that I would answer all emails, as a friendly gesture. Then I would skip a few replies, because I didn't have time to send it....and by the time I got back to it, decided it was too late to be polite...lol. Oh well, it was a nice thought on my part, wasn't it? Then once, I sent a letter to someone that put me on his favorites list and he was rude to me. What's up with that? Of course, I took myself off his list.

"i've retained the expert legal services of 1 800 just call sam"

Joanne, the number is "1-800 call sam" not "1-800 just call sam". I called Sam to confer with him prior retaining the services of my lawyers. He recommended them to me. He told me they were the best and he lost every type of legal litigation he has ever been up against them in.

Its only normal to the rude ppl who do it! lol They dont think its wrong to not respond. I dont know, but i guess the way i look at it is,,,,some man or woman looked at a profile, saw something that sparked their interest and decided to take that leap and make contact. If the recipient isnt interested, it only takes 15 secs to type a nice polite reply. Granted,,there are some out there who are just plain buttholes who spew out all kinds of bullcrap in their first email, but even those ones i reply to. Ive been lucky so far that ive never gotten any rude replies replying to my reply. (did you get that? haha)

Ripley
I was hoping it would spark some interest & maybe we would have some correspondance.
Are you saying it's O K for her to call me a Snake because I invited her to one of my shows?
Let's not forget men like to cut to the chase & women never make the 1st move.
I invite people out to see me upon 1st meeting all the time & none of them called me names. Believe it or not some people think it's cool & exciting to be in a band. I'm just trying to keep LIVE music alive.

"John John John...what am I gonna do with you? "

Robin is this a rhetorical question or do you really want some suggestions? .

And to answer your other question, no I'm not a stud muffin, I'm more like a crumby cookie.

cushman,,,,no i am not saying its ok for anyone to call anyone names. I am saying that when some women get emails (first contact) where the guy just automatically invites a woman to meet him, those red flags rise high with beepers attached to them and well,of course the woman is gonna think the guy is,,,,well,,,,out of his noggin! You have to understand cushman, that most women would prefer to correspond for 'x' amount of time before she rushes off to meet a man. Just cuz it was a public place that you work at doesnt mean in HER mind that you werent some type of fruit loop (and no im not calling you a fruit loop,,,just saying it spooks a woman when this happens and turns them off).

You really could be THE most sweetest most nicest most handsomest most everthingest man in the world,,,,,,,but when a total stranger makes a move like that,,,almost a guarentee you will get shot down faster than a bad guy in a Clint Eastwood movie.

I personally would rather MEET someone and get it over with......if one is halfway interested.....the sooner the better.....
Emails are OK, but you don't know the REAL person till you start chatting in person and they trip themselves up.....no ability to fix or amend their 'posts'.....LOL!

Typing is BORING.....(so why am I doing it?)

Chao!

Lighthouse lady, you are braver then me, I am one of those "need to email or im for a while" before I feel comfortable enough to meet them. I hate it when I get an email that says lets meet and we havent ever talked, I think he's strange to suggest that to me.

John...pimping you...hmm, hadnt thought of that yet I was thinking more of an auction...

I have to agree w/ you. typing back & forth is not really meeting someone. Talking on the phone tells a lot about someone and actually meeting tells it all. I'm not into typing either. Meet & get it over with, isn't that why we're on here to "meet someone"? If you don't click you haven't wasted days of typing back & forth.
I would much rather meet someone in the real world & not on a dating site, but not many people go out anymore. I'm a self employed builder, so I don't meet any single women thru my job.
