I dont mind goin on dates with ladies of the more ample variety, theyre certainly better value 4 money at an all u can eat buffett. I`d certainly take a sausage fingers or a salad dodger out to 1 of those. Better than a size zero stick insect who jus eats a lettuce leaf while i`m munchin on steak n chips.
Although it can be embarrassing sumtimes with an ample lady, I went 2 a restaurant once with 1 n we were escorted 2 a table n the waiter asked me if i`d like 2 c the menu n asked the lady if she`d like an estimate It cost me a bloody fortune that did. I remember b4 the meal I held my hands 2gether in a praying position, she said I didn`t realise u were religious. I`m not religious but I thort it would be a good time 2 start praying, I was praying that the waiter has a fatal accident with the dessert trolley b4 she gets a chance 2 order anything. I couldn`t enjoy the my main course properly cos I was petrified how much dessert my date was going 2 eat, I couldn`t even do a runner cos she was driving so obviously she had 2 diet cokes.

Ha ha ha, 2mass, I laughed so much at your post, I'm in the BBW catagory so as you can imagine all that laughing was accompanied by lots of wobbling! What I found even funnier though, was that fact that you list clothes shopping as one of your interests but all your pics show you either half dressed or almost naked!! What's up, couldn't find any nice tops to buy???

I think so-called "BHM's" get a raw deal on dating sites and in the real world. As a larger man myself (I'm not huge, just "cuddly" is a good description) experience tells me that this is so.

The thing is, this size acceptance thing and "BBW" thing that seems so popular at the moment is all very well if you're female, but if you're a man it's very different. Loads and loads of men out there like bigger, more curvy women, but the other way around it just doesn't happen - not many women at all will go for a bigger man.

It's really a no-win situation for the larger man. All the average sized women want slim men, and now, it seems, all the "BBWs" want slim men too. Take a look at the profiles of some of the larger women and see how many of them are looking for "slim" and "average" sized men. I find this a bit hypocritical, since we always get a lot of these kind of posts from larger women: "Don't judge us on our size", "Want to be loved for who we are", etc, etc. And yet a lot of them aren't even willing to entertain the idea of dating a larger man themselves.

Fair enough if that's what they want, but don't whine about being judged on your size when you're doing exactly the same thing.

Well done Moose666 for being "big" enough to speak out for the larger chap. didn't know that lots of lasses, whatever their size, stated that they were looking for slim or average sized men. The only attribute that I have quoted on my profile, is that I have a penchant for tall men, I can't explain it though, maybe their larger frame size gives them longer arms to reach around me?!

One of the reasons that quite a lot of men who are attracted to larger women is because the men are usually the submissive type, especially in bed. Not my personal opinion; it is something I read somewhere.

ah bless...those who seek to create humour at the cost of another..

moose..dont judge everyone the same..i like men of all shapes and sizes..its not just the wrapper thats important you know....

which answers the op as well..i like men of all different types from bhm to shorter and slim.

one thing tho..id never ever date anyone ....regardless of the wrapper.... if they had the iq of a goldfish and/or the manners of a toad.

Similarily confidance is very sexy..arrogance is not..i suspect that some of those who claim larger people are more friendly are perhaps alluding to something like that.

There are some on this thread who have lovely wrappers ( and what they perceive to be better because they fall into a non bbw/bhm catagory)..and have no issue declaring this or alluding to it with pics etc..however if the filling is tainted...then whats the point?!

Believe me fat people r fat because they eat 2 much n its their own fault, i have more concern n consideration 2 skinny anorexic people which is a far more serious problem than being obese.

Hang on a mo!!
The last 14 months have been hard for me as I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid! Its nasty, not only did i put on 5 stone, your muscles get weaker and painful joints its a nasty condition so no not all obese people are fat because they eat to much, far from it!!!
I cant even eat a low fat sandwich, because the calories are far too high still, thyroid problems effects everything and I have it for the rest of life and now moved from 6 monthly tests to 3 monthly ones!! with a medication increase!!
bring on the pies!! so wish i could be naughty and eat what the hell i wanted!! I had managed to shift a stone and a half this year its now stuck at that the last couple of weeks
so please dont JUDGE, when you next see a obese person, think a little more, what is going on inside....... ??

Well done for shifting the weight, especially with the thyroid problem!

OP: I would say that I feel my size does get in the way of me contacting people. I've been a member on this site for about 4 or 5 months now and have only ever initiated one conversation (the giy didnt reply ) I am shy in person, and on here usually a lot more confident, having said that still not got over that first rejection lol!

"its nothing to do with how much u eat"

^^^ absolute rubbish, of course its to do with what you eat. Yes it is part genetics and people of a certain genetic make-up may find it difficult to maintain their weight, but you dont get to a size 18 eating salad.....

My father was 12 stone when he got married, my mother was slightly underweight.
Now - both are overweight, not obese but do carry that extra weight that is a result of slowing metabolic rates and in the case of my mother (like many women) the menopause has also had an effect. But they both love their food which has also helped the gain.

I used to be a size 20 - a fat nacker. I lost the weight but its still hard to maintain.
The first step to accepting your weight is a problem caused by yourself. If you are happy, then thats fantastic... if not, grow some balls and do something about it.

Im fat (i just said so in the other thread) and happy in my skin.. :)

Nothing to do with that you eat? Im fat because i ate far too much of the wrong foods and than sat on my arse and did nothing about it. Admit it ladies and stop making excuses for your size. If youre unhappy diet, if youre not (and im not) then live and let live i dont attack people for being super skinny... and it really is water off a ducks back to me if someone insults me for my size.. particularly over the internet.. never let the opinons of strangers, people you will never meet upset you, you dont know them so why care? :)
----------
I also prefer a larger built man as skinny men dont do it for me and i feel like nelly the elephant next to a shorter skinnier man.

(bet that comment gets me some grief lol)

I'm not a bbw, I'm boringly "average" for my age, but, i'm afraid i would never consider dating a skinny man. i prefer someone i can cuddle up to and not "rattle" his ribcage

little bit of background.

I was married from age 16 to quite a control freak (am i allowed to say psycho-path?) for 29 years.

I was never "big" my average weight 9 stone. over the years he caused me to lose 3 stone leaving me at just 6 stone when i divorced.(no i wasnt anorexic, i was starving).

It has taken me the best part of the 8 years i have been divorced to gain enough weight to be considered "average".
dress size 14. weight now stable.

"Some" (don't jump on me i'm giving an opinion here) middle aged men still think they need skinny arm jewellery to boost their ego's.
I've often been hit on by men who are in their 50's - 60's not the sharpest knife in the box, unkempt, let themselves "go" over the years, and get upset when i don't "fancy them". what i say is..... if you can't look after yourself, then don't expect a supermodel on your arm.
to be perfectly honest, i'd rather be on my own than accept someone who needs you to change size, weight or looks just to boost their own ego's

Kinda contradicts here, because those people that say we are fat because we eat so much and shouldnt worry about the insults over the internet from strangers!

Thats right they are strangers
no one knows what I eat and have too go through everyday
EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT
so PLEASE dont say we are fat because we eat far too much and of the wrong food because I don't!! It doesnt upset me, these insults I find it rather annoying because its so untrue.
just been to the supermarket the un healthiest thing i brought was toilet paper! seriously it was a snack a jack!! I have salad for work a chicken to do various things with... i mean meals!!
Dont think I bother posting on here anymore would rather be stuffing my face with cucumber!! lol

Getting back to technopunk's origional message, I would class myself as a BBW...size 22 ish and 5ft 8. I know im attractive to some men and not to others. I dont loose sleep over it because we all have our own personal 'tick list' and chances are 50% of the men on here wouldnt be on mine either...mainly because im looking for somebody intellegent and a bit of class !!!
I dont feel i have to justify why im over weight..thats my business. Im an ex nurse with a degree so neither do i feel i have to listen to the diet nazi's
I have lots of genuine interest from men on here and I have even been known to contact them first....not all of them told me to 'bugger off fatty'.

Society does dictate that tall, slim, toned, white blue eyed blondes are the ideal...but id say 95% of are'nt Sweedish...time we got over it

Rant now over

then how did you get fat??? i dont mean to be rude but like in my initial statement i think its time women stopped kidding themselves over this crap.. the only reason for being big in the first place is food intake and lack of excercise NO ONE is born overweight, so stop kidding yourself.

lol im not having a go at her..

im saying..

if youre fat (and i am) dont sit here emaking excuses for it... if youre not happy get off your arse and do something about it.... all the women that sit here going "omg im so fat i wish i could lose weight" while stuffing another cream cake in annoy me.. as do the "omg its not my fault its my thyroid", your thyroid dosent put on 5 stone dear.

if you are happy (and I am) then be honest about it, i ate all the wrong foods, far too much of them and then sat on my arse and didnt excercise basically...how can someone GET FAT if theyre eating healthy, excercising etc? they cant..

accept it ladies............ if youre fat.............youre FAT learn to be honest and love yourself and then someone else might. :)

Yep the Americans have fat acceptance groups. seems a good idea.
I know exactly why i am fat, Its a deadly combination of genetics, bad eating habits and pure laziness ... I make no excuses, Its my problem ill deal with it

However if you are unlucky enough to develop thyroid problems or need to take steroids they will effect your weight without it having much to do with your diet.
Some people believe that over eating is used to masque/mask deep seated tramas..and is classed an eating disorder. the same as anorexia is ....jesus think of the uproar there would be if we attacked somebody with anorexia the same way we do with overeaters !!

Scientist are pretty sure of the existance of fat gene, there is some research been made into the hormone produced when a person has had enough to eat and wheather or not it is reaching the petuitory gland in all cases to tell that person to stop eating..

Hell dont quote me on this.. my spelling is dodgy, my grammer is up the wall and i dont have my references...but hopefull you can see my point. .

yes we is too fat cos we eat more than we can burn off, but it isnt always that straight forward

ill shut up now..... the mini eggs are calling me from the fridge

ok ok - lets put all the genetics and medical conditions aside -
If anyone has ever heard of it, there is a condition called Prader Willi syndrome, its a congenital disorder where there has been a deletion in a certain chromosome from birth, the effects are children not knowing when to stop eating... no signals to the brain, they could eat all day....Now - no one I reckon has this condition on here, because its very rare.

What is not rare is under active thyroids... now if someone has this, there size is fully understandable and I would be intrigued as to why someone would involve themselves in this debate - me, personally I would would exclude myself as my situation would be different.

Curvydee in my opinion has the right attitude - if your happy, fantastic!
If you're not - stop making excuses and do something about it and stop filling your chops with cake.

Its bloody hard (I know) but no one can do it for you...

Thats not true- ive never been small and ive always ordered exactly what a 'thin' person would do- In a restaurant I never have a starter and rarely a pudding.

And if ive gone out with a then boyfriend-who have always been aveage size (and dont start making an issue of me saying that as I dont mean it in any negative way etc) and they have been the ones eating what I left!!!!!!!!!!!

Overgeneralisation springs to mind

I will probably be slandered for saying this but I am not into big women. I do see lots of big women and think they are attractive, but A) at 5'5" and slim I like someone who is more my size, and B) To be as un-sleazy as possible I like quite active, athletic sex and I find that often isn't possible someone who is particularly large... Especially if they are significantly bigger than me!

So yeah, I do find them attractive but I am not really up for dating big women. Anyway, most women aren't up for dating short guys either so I get discriminated against too!

Thanks Wrexham Girl and Siobhan :)

I just believe in being as honest as you can be on the net, not everyone is, and you find a lot of bigger girls with just a pic of their left eye or something lol, whats the point in that??? if you go to meet someone theyre going to see your size!

So im not fat hating, im fat myself obviously.. but im just saying accept who you are, and stop making excuses.. if youre happy.. live your life and dont worry about it, if youre not, diet and get some excercise and stop making excuses and while i realise excercise isnt possible for a tiny majority who might have mobility problems it is available to most of us larger ladies :)
