| Forum junkies ! Posted: 7/6/2008 8:28:49 AM | Some of the posts are so funny, that I cry from laughing so hard! One gal got banned from POF because of the things she wrote on here, which is too bad because this gal had a wicked sense of humor...although, she was a tad rude :) ...thus getting banned! There are some posts that want others opinions or experiences, so since I have nothing better to do, sometimes, I'll respond. Of course, once I realized that whatever I write on here will show up on my profile.....ooops! Ohhh darn...who cares? I do get emails from others in the forums :)
I will admit.... it's a habit... I'm addicted :)
In some cases, reading the crap that others have to put up with, can make my life seem like I'm in heaven :) It's great to pretend sometimes.... Although, I now realize that I really don't have it so bad, in comparison to others!
If my 2 cent opinions/experiences will help anyone.... that's a good thing :)

| Forum junkies ! Posted: 7/6/2008 9:28:22 AM | Msg 20: "That sweet caring fishie turned out to be a blowfish who dumped me. Suffering from withdrawal symptoms I returned to the pond after a break." Amen, sister!
For me, it's fun to share my wide (yet shallow) knowledge with folks who could benefit from it. I participate on quite a few special interest internet forums (music, bikes, dancing...surprise!). It's a nice change to come out into the wider world, almost like leaving the bike club meeting to spend time in the rest of the library. I know a little bit about photography, so I tend to hit that aspect in profile reviews. And I am benefiting from other people's experiences and learning.
Incidentally, I've found that some of my forum posts lead to contacts and comments from fishies, either potential or released. There's only so much one can cram into the 5 lbs of a profile, and forum posts are almost like real interactions with human beings. (My profile claims that I am a Nice Person, and my posts further support that innate quality.)

Addictive but no calories! Yes, I'm addicted. I never before realized I had an addictive personality.....

| Forum junkies ! Posted: 11/7/2009 4:23:03 PM | I have renamed this site Plenty of Forums because the Fish in my area don't have any of my interests or the few that do, they aren't interested in me. So POF it is for me...
You just have to clear off the pond scum occassionally....but if I want to be entertained, I head to the forums. Lots of good advice is give as well.

| Forum junkies ! Posted: 11/8/2009 2:47:21 PM | | I post mostly in the science forums so I end up researching topics being discussed so that I can participate in the debates. What keeps me coming back? Not only do I learn about topics that I might otherwise have ignored, but I also get a sense for what many people think on a particular topic. I feel in touch with society I suppose. | |

I was pretty much going to post the same thing, but nova nailed it...at least for me. I have learned a lot in the S&P forum. Although the debates can get pretty heated sometimes, I really enjoy the general discussions.
@ nova
I always enjoy your posts, and I must say, you are one of the few females who can truly hold their own, when debating with the boys.

| Forum junkies ! Posted: 11/8/2009 4:05:25 PM | OP
I am a forum junkie. The Forums are full of people you meet everyday, and all of their questions are very salient to our lives and existence. I learn a lot from the postings. And, of course, the responses to the questions are often "on target" and better than you are able to find anywhere else on the internet. I like the forums also, because I am learning a lot about writing styles, especially textspeak, which is the new "cool" form of composition.
I just like to shoot the breeze with like-minded folks. Always have; always will.
op ed: This is also a great way to procrastinate. My cat has hairball problems and just "let er loose" on the carpet. I'll get to it eventually, after I get off these here forums.
