Question for those of you that love your pets and let them in your house/on your couch/sleep on your bed. If you met someone 'special' would you evict your pet from your couch/bed/house?
Yes I allow my 2 cats on the couch. However they have 3 towers that they prefer. Neither of them stay very long at night when I go to sleep - basically they come say good night - then leave for they're own preferred sleeping places

Never in a million years would I evict any of my animals for any human, no matter how big his...er...heart was.
When I adopt an animal, it's for the entirety of its life. I despise those who treat their animals as disposable - there isn't a good enough excuse to "have" to "get rid" of an animal, other than one's own death.

Question for those of you that love your pets and let them in your house/on your couch/sleep on your bed. My pets (now passed away) were not allowed up on my couch as it was white, but they always had their own comfy beds. On movie nights I would make myself comfortable on the rug and we would all sit together and eat popcorn. Dogs LOVE popcorn by the way!
If you met someone 'special' would you evict your pet from your couch/bed/house? HELL NO! If he didn't like my pets (or animals for that matter) then he wouldn't be that "special" now, would he?

| how well do Pets adjust Posted: 5/28/2009 12:03:27 PM | This was three years ago... wonder what happened to the cat?
After reading this again after a couple of years one thing struck me.
The OP says the guy hates the cat and won't help out with the cat. Why does someone need "help" with a CAT? Cat's are pretty independent. If she needs help with a cat how will she manage twins?

| how well do Pets adjust Posted: 5/28/2009 1:08:12 PM | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ OMG, so it has been 3 years! I feel a little dense for not noticing earlier. That would now make the cat 16 years old. I also wonder whats up with the kitty cat...? I got the impression that what was meant by "help" was perhaps he wouldn't assist with kitties litter box, feeding, letting kitty in or outside. I also got the impression that poor kitty didn't get a pet when she was around the boyfriend, and probably was shunned or chased away. That being said, how would this guy handle twin babies? They poop alot and are messy, and I'm sure the mom would need help with feeding them also. If you can't be kind to a kitty, then it is my impression that you will have trouble being kind to anyone else. As I stated on my profile, how one treats a creature (human or otherwise) indicates what kind of character they have. | |

In my life, it's love me, love my critters (and there are a LOT of them.) My animals have saved my sanity more than once, and they will STAY in my life.
