| Why are you on POF?
Posted: 4/14/2007 10:13:15 PM | I'm now 60 and divorced after a long marriage. I'd love to have a hot romance with a great guy at some point, but for now am just not ready to go there. One reason is that I plan to move to a different country for a year or so and then return to a different state in the US.... my move could happen this year or not for a couple more years, and since I have a lot of things to take care of in the meantime, adding dating to my life right now seems overwhelming.
However, in the meantime, I'm on POF to help myself understand what exactly I want and don't want re: romance, and to find out more about what men and women are thinking, saying, and doing these days re: romance, dating, sex, marriage, etc, as well as to find out more about what's involved with meeting potential partners online. And I think the forums are fascinating! | |

1) Sure sex would be nice, but a wet bar of soap and hot water probily saves more then spending $$$ on dating, pointless romantic nicknacks, and a regular STD regimin, or child support payments, after being involved with unscrupulous females, and their possible lawsuits. ;)
2) Why? Just to spend a bunch of $$$ on a wishy washy maybe, for some nookie or a non- relationship. Prostitution where legitimate, is safer, cleaner, and costs about the same as four average dates with a high maintinece femm and no nookie. And at least in such a place, you know the deal, about not being called back, right at the start. ;)
3) Sure a girlfriend would be nice. But it all depends on what a woman means if she says shes your girlfriend, doesn't it? I know what that word means to me, but that definition as defined by the actions some women do while calling thenselves a girlfriend, I don't agree with or condone. Like cheating, or making arrangements to. Its not that those women are liars, its just that they leave out the fact that their cheating. And Prefer Not To Say is a great way to play, isn't it? ;)
4) Friends are allways good, but this is a dating site after all. And many people here have many "friends" of whom have special benefits, but if all that persons other friends have the same benefits, how special is it? And are they really interested in being your friend, if its like that? The truth is I want more then some half interested promiscuous time share femm to ****, waiting my turn for such irreplacable sexual charms. ;)
5) Wife. That being a legal term to describe a supposedly understood state of being and behaviors of. Its kind of like baptism as viewed in some churches, as an outward sign of an inward belief or condition of soul. And like all religion and other ceremonial nonsense, just as accurate as describing a fact of a current state of being. But I find divorce statistics, open marrages, affair statistics being vastly more accurate, and truthfull. Call it a matter of faith, or more accurately my lack thereof with people. By definition, faith is "a belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence". So my point is this, when I never have to rely on such a notion with my woman, I would marry, and raise my uber spaunen to rule the world! Which is just about as probible as finding a woman who doesn't require faith and unearned trust in a relationship. ;)
6) Now looking at the word companion, its like being compared to a frivolous accessory. When something more meaningfull, intimate and synergetic is what I merit. I'm definately not here to accesorize between the thighs of some trivial female sex associate. ;)
