| What does your 30's mean to you ?

1. Stop looking for love or someone to take care of me.
2. Concentrate on my last decade of opportunities to do well in my career.
3. Give more attention to my parents.
4. Learn to live alone and hopefully purchase my own property before I turn 32.
5. Plan my retirement life-style, invest and save some money for my future. | |

I didn't say I'm not open to love. Just not looking too hard. No point worrying about something I have no control over.
I do have control over whether I wanna live alone though... No harm planning for singlehood even if someone special comes along eh?
I'm leaving everything in God's hands. If He thinks I should have someone... I will... some day...

| What does your 30's mean to you ?
Posted: 3/29/2005 8:58:45 PM | I try not to attach any particular significance to physical age. I've taken great care of myself, lived life to the full, travelled extensively, experienced so much and set myself up for a comfortable future, emotionally, spiritually, financially prepared.
Since I've been looking after myself on all levels, I'm happy to report I can and still do everything I ever did. I even won a sprint contest last year against guys in their 20s. I'm living the dream. Having all that I have, knowing all that I know and still able to move around, dare I say perform, like I did when I was 25. Yet, I meet guys in their 20s all the time who look like heck because they don't take care of themselves.
I wish I could remember that fitness guru from years back who was still performing massive feats of strength and endurance in his 70s and 80s. There's a lot of personal choice in all this.
Bottom line, what my 30s mean to me is .... just a number. Bring it on. | |

So far, it means 20, only with money and common sense! LOL! Truthfully, I'm just glad I can say I'm 30 when people ask my age. When you say you're 29 nobody believes you anyway. | |

Posted: 2/16/2007 6:43:43 PM | I realize just how lucky I am. I am one lucky son of a gun. Great family, my health... Life is good. And it's only getting better. When I was younger I spent too much time sweating the trivial stuff and getting worked up. A little time and a brush with death straightened me right out.
If you take ten seconds every day and look at how lucky you are, you'll realize just how good you really have it. | |

Posted: 5/10/2007 9:20:10 PM | I've reached a point where I have learned more of what I don't like than what I do like. More importantly, I've learned how pointless chasing money is. Nobody wants to be poor, but making career decisions based on what pays best is, for me at least, unfulfilling.
As other people have said, 30s are when reality really kicks in. I've finally begun to understand my limits, my capabilities, and my weaknesses (and more importantly, to understand that they're not going to change drastically without a lot of effort). So focus on fixing that which you don't like about yourself while doing things that take advantage of what you do do well. | |

It means I have many experiences behind that help me make better decisions, but it also means I have many many challenges ahead...
It means I have to think twice before having another slice, beer, helping...
It means I often recognize my own shortcomings and I accept that others have shortcomings as well...
I don't regret being in my 30's, it's been a time of amazing growth and development. I do long for more goofing off and occasionally doing something completely irresponsible, but ususally I pay for it afterwards...The good news is there's a lot to look forward to! | |
