| What does your 30's mean to you ?

Sooo I'll do that in my 30's (which really translates to 40's) when I have a little more freedom, within moderation of course. | |

Other then the fact I've grown a tad wiser and more cautious when making decisions...being in my thirties pretty much had no major impact on my life. Either you let your number rule you or you ignore the number all together...just go with the flow in life man. | |

I'm a little wiser, a little worn, but all in all its a good place. Like a comfortable pair of jeans that may have had better days. A little ratty perhaps, but damn they feel like home. | |

| What does your 30's mean to you ?
Posted: 5/16/2007 7:46:07 AM | Well, I’m 38. Every molecule in my body has been replaced from when I was 28. Which literally translates into I’m a different person.
I like the fact that I make lots of money, and I have the respect of my colleagues. I like that I have a wealth of knowledge and experience to make sound decisions (Not that I do it every time)
Things are less black and white, but I now have sophisticated moral compass to help me navigate. I like that I’m much better in bed ( a 30+ stamp means satisfaction guaranteed)
I like that I’m more able to stay within the moment than before.
I love the fact that other people’s opinions don’t affect me as they once did. The whole thing about building character that our mothers taught us…Now that I have the character, I finally understand why it was so important.
I hate that hair starts growing places it shouldn’t. I hate how long it takes to recover from a night out. I hate that I have intimate knowledge of my own triglycerides and blood pressure. Oh and I really hate that I will need a colonoscopy on a more and more frequent basis. | |

It prompted a reevalution of my beliefs and goals, and set the stage to remedy the mistakes of the past and move forward. That process took off in my late 30's and early 40's, and I vastly improved my life and my relationships - but it required letting go of the mistakes and making better - and healthier - choices in all areas of my life. | |

My 30's have become about the application of what I have learned about that "me" and trying to make the most of it. I suppose now that I am nearing the mid 30's mark, it's more about refining those qualities. | |

Having a lot more motorbikes than when I was in my 20s.
These days, I'm looking forward to my 40s. By then, I might actually be able to afford to get them all running. I'm going to spend my 50s getting financial so that I can get some hot young cheerleader in her 20s to look after me in my 60s.
Ah well.

Time to prepare for the future retirement, maybe buy another house. Date to see if there is someone out there to compliment me, faults and all...not someone to make me who they think I should be or will be my other half....WHOLE PERSON HERE! You/Me/Us...equel parts.....and last but not least, Iknow what I like and won't 'settle' for just anyone....In short, being in my thirties just means I am wiser and not as much of a partier (doesn't mean I don't know how to have a good time~) | |

Posted: 12/26/2007 7:04:43 PM | My 30's taught me maturity. I finally realize who I am and I like what I have become. It was a very rocky road w/ lots of potholes that I traveled up til now. Let's see where the road will lead me in my 40's. Age is a number that I don't deny when asked. I know that inside I am of an age that makes me a very content w/ life. Growing older isn't a bad thing for me. I may not like a few things that gravity has done to me lol, but we all change. We all age. My 30's have been rough sometimes, but I am a better person. I am a stronger person. I smile more now. I relax knowing that I didn't get too lost in the past 9 years. I found my way into a better place for my kids and me. Holding tight to each other, my kids and I have all grown up a bit. Sometimes my boys faced it w/ more grace than I did. Looking inside myself, seeing the changes in me, I smile and my eyes tear up a bit. I finally found where I need to be. I know I will want more in the future, but for right now, I have 1 more year in my 30's to get through and I really like that. 1 more year to make sure that my 30's keep looking promising. 1 more year to prove to myself that I have become what I knew I could always be.  | |

Posted: 12/29/2007 5:50:18 AM | I'm 36 now and this is the first time in my life that I'm free to do what I want whenever I want and have as much fun as I want. Believe me when I say that age makes no difference because in my twenties I felt old but now I'm in my thirties I'm having a great time!
Plus if you're having a new lease of life and you've got children it makes you a cool parent, when my little one's older she'll be joining me to all those gigs!
