Just a question is the government going to stop all smoking in casinos ????
Scranton just passed a no smoking ordance for all publick bars/ restrantants.
soon this will be every where . However, i'm willing to bet that 20 dollars most gamblers put into a slot. The no smoking rule wont apply to a casino. WHY?
From what I understand, the money that talks & the bullsh*t that walks in Harrisburg has been trying to exempt casinos from any smoking bans across the state. However, the last I heard locally is that here in Allegheny County the smoking ban WILL apply in any casino that opens here. They are only getting ready to award the casino license here, maybe next week, so it will be a while yet until that's built. Since the Allegheny County smoking ban is currently being challenged by two restaurant owners in court and may possibly be prevented from going into effect on January 2 as planned, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

BTW, just came across this other POF thread:
http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingPosts5857925.aspx
Now THAT's something for all the smokers to get upset about! That town's in California. They don't even want people to be allowed to smoke outside on the sidewalk or in their own cars! I don't think they're going to be able to enforce it. While I personally hate getting a headache from walking on the sidewalk behind a smoker--this really DOES happen to me!--I really don't expect any government to be able to enforce no smoking OUTSIDE. See, you PA smokers, how lucky you are? For the record, I've been crossing the street to avoid headaches for a long time. Bus stops can be a problem, but who would believe me?

Ms BeachBreeze,
You did a good job letting us know how you feel. Being new at this didn't hurt you at all.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have taken prayers or mention of "God" in any way out of our schools and government, and what resulted from this...crime and greed, the loss of ethics and morals, and the ability to control the behaviors and attitudes of society as a whole.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did it ever occur to you that we don't WANT our behaviors and attitudes controlled? It seems that is a big part of religion: shoving your beliefs down our throats. And if everybody had the same religious beliefs as you, there would be less crime and greed in the world, right?

This nation was NOT founded on religious beliefs. The founders of this nation didn't have the education to empower them to free themselves of religion. The pilgrims believed that some omnipotent god would protect them, yet they endured unbelievable hardships. What kind of a god would allow all of this pain and suffering to be experienced by his followers?

We as a society are more educated now, and some of us who have kept an open mind have learned to discern between fact and fantasy.

You go and pray, and have fun with your god and your religion, but I would appreciate your not sticking it in my face, thank you.

Keep ur mouth shut

I have just as much right to my opinion as you do. Instead of telling people to shut their mouths, why don't you get some sixth-grader to teach you how to write?

No matter what you think, this country is NOT on the verge of any revolution. You are ranting again. Very little of what you wrote, as hard as it was to read, made any sense. What does "polution u make Americia" mean?

YOU are the one who doesn't like anyone else having an opinion. Live with it!

They don't even want people to be allowed to smoke outside on the sidewalk or in their own cars!

They are treading the fine line between watching out for society, and watching what society does. If you are waiting for a bus outside, you are entitled to not have to breathe anyone else's stinky second-hand smoke. But if the smokers are in their own cars, or walking down the street, alone, they should be left alone. As long as there are busybodies in congress, there will be stupid laws. People will just HAVE to stop voting for these control-freaks, otherwise, that wheel will keep on turning.

I have just as much right to my opinion as you do.

Yes u do micro, but u don't have the right to make me sound illiterate just because u can't or don't like ppl who type in short or better known as internet slang..!!
Seems ur the one who has a problem w/ this so skip my posts and quit stalking me at every thread I post..!!!
I also express myself the way I talk, having 4 kids u learn quick to keep up w/ the new slang, and living where I do! also being in2 the Music Business I'am what they call a Hip Momma! I wouldn't wanna be an old FUDDY DUDDY as u seem 2 be...!!!
I also was a manager of a business which if I was stupid as u seem to like 2 inply???
U have got 2 be the most sorry a$$ scarcastic excuse of a human being and I'am not the only one who see's this in u!

No matter what you think, this country is NOT on the verge of any revolution

Hell I doubt u even know what a revalutionary war is, if u did u would understand ppl are getting fed up w/ narrow minded ppl as urself!!
I respect non smokers and think their should be a compromise, but their are more pollutants then sec hand smoke I would be more concerned about, along w/ the fact of the food we eat, w/ all the chemicals ect!!
I had a friend who died from working in a DYE factory which dyed all his organs!
I also lost a friend who died from lung cancer due to working in a factory from Abesto's!
ur a scrooge micro I feel sorry 4 u, and ur the one who seems to RANT everytime anyone mentions the word smoking or something u don't agree w/ u could learn a lesson or 2 in being more tastefull of how u come off?? I could go on but won't!

Oh, I am not the one making you sound illiterate, believe me!

Internet slang, you say? Okay, let's see how much "internet slang" you used in this post.
I'am
inply
scarcastic
see's
revalutionary
their should
their are
the fact of
ect
Abesto's
tastefull

Hmmm... funny... I have never seen ANYONE use THESE "internet slang" words/expressions before. Would it be okay if I invented some "internet slang" words, too? This way, I can butcher up the English language, too, and not be subject to ANY criticism.

U have got 2 be the most sorry a$$ scarcastic excuse of a human being

shy....it's not just the smoking that's tearing this country apart. it's everything in general that the federal government along with the local and state as well. they say that this country is great, i'm still trying to find out how? where? hey, i think i know where.....when we're all 6' under and in our graves then things would be great since we wouldn't have to worry about anything. it's sad, i was born and raised in this country and to see the changes over the years is really pathetic.

Just a fact. Because a person dose not spell corectly or use proper grammer. Does not mean anything
I can't spell well , nor, do i use proper gramer. But, I can do trig, take a car apart & put it back together again. I offten grow tired of anyone cutting down someone because they cant spell well or use proper grammer. I'll match my knowlege againt grammer or spellling any day. Futhermore, this blog is about smokers vs non -smokers. What they belive is right on either side of this issue.

they say that this country is great, i'm still trying to find out how? where?

You have GOT to be kidding me! Is your head in your ass???? Try living in Iraq! Try living in Mexico! Try living ANYWHERE in the world where you don't have anywhere NEAR as many freedoms as you have here. You people take SO MUCH for granted, and it really ticks me off when you blame OUR government for YOUR problems. If you don't like the USA, you are FREE to LEAVE! Try THAT in Cuba! In fact, I ENCOURAGE you to leave. This country will be a better place.

Tell any soldier who has laid his life on the line for YOU and ME. Tell him you don't like it here. Tell him you don't give a damn about the sacrifices he made, fighting for YOUR rights, so you can complain about how bad it is to live in the USA.

If you don't like what is going on here, you really do have several CHOICES.
1) Take an active part in choosing your leaders. VOTE.
2) Do something to MAKE this a better place, instead of ****ing about how bad it is.
3) Study. Learn more about how the government works, and how much better off you are to be HERE, than anywhere else in the world.
4) LEAVE.

We are in a country that lays down the lives of their OWN soldiers so people in other countries can have something remotely close to the freedoms we enjoy. The U.S. is the FIRST country to send millions of dollars to places after they are ravaged by hurricanes, tornados, and other disasters. The U.S. will provide financial support to you if you are disabled or unable to provide food and shelter for your family. And you have the GALL to say this isn't a great country? PLEASE! Find a better one, and move there. PLEASE!

It seem's Micro likes to throw his
so called intelligent weight
around and get under peoples
skin. Every time I see a post of his
it's either half-ass on topic or it's
him trying to get reactions from
fellow pof'ers. He is the control freak
you all talk about, telling people how
they should type or post.

If everyone ignores him then it'll be
like him talking to himself, so lets just
all unite and give micro the cold shoulder.
Sure he has the RIGHT to his opinion and he
has the RIGHT to post in any thread he wants.
WE have the right to IGNORE him and pick
who we respond to! Just because he says
something about your post, so what, ignore it
like it wasn't there.

Thats all I have to say about the subject.

OT: Here smoking has been banned
from public resturants and bars, business
is doing the same as it was before. Bars have placed
heaters outside in their designated smoke areas
with a roof to prevent rain or snow.

Cheers.
PS, I am smoker.

Micro,
I wouldn't stick anything of mine in your face, including my opinion. BTW, I looked over your profile - what a collection of crap...it's not a wonder you've made dating a career. I'm not trying to shove any beliefs down anyone's throat, I just see the general lack of morals and respect of most of the youth today. I think government and society don't really care about teaching kids things like responsibility and common courtesy - and one day they will be running this country, which was founded on religion by religious people, you ass...you really should pick up a book! And while your at it, see if they have one on common courtesy, and just plain old kindness....you need an education in both. I read your earlier postings where you were cutting apart people for their opinions as well as their spelling and grammer. Gee, does it make you feel like a man, tough guy? You are a sorry, sad excuse for a man. I hope to God, any omnipotent God, that I should never actually have to meet you. I think you need to get on your mountain bike (without your computer) and take a really long ride...and stay there. I know I'd be happier for it, and so would all the people you spend your days and nights cutting down. Get a life!

Wol, that isn't the issue. You admit you can't spell well, and that takes guts. Nobody is going to fault you for that.

If this individual ever came forward the way you did, then everyone, including myself, would probably just overlook it all. But she made it an issue by staunchly defending her errors as intentional, and as acceptable because they are what she called "internet slang", when it really isn't. They are just **stardizations of the English language. She made it an issue by telling me to "shut up", thereby attempting to deny MY right to voice my opinion. And when I do, she rants and raves and moans and complains. That takes things off-topic.

BeachBreeze,

I wouldn't stick anything of mine in your face, including my opinion.

No? Then what do you call this:

the loss of ethics and morals, and the ability to control the behaviors and attitudes of society as a whole.

You are the ethics and morals police now, right?

I think government and society don't really care about teaching kids things like responsibility and common courtesy

You think wrong.

you ass...

Now I'm an ass because I disagree with your right-wing beliefs? That's interesting.

And while your at it,

And while my at it? What does that mean?

see if they have one on common courtesy, and just plain old kindness....you need an education in both.

So now disagreeing and debating are discourteous and unkind, huh?

I read your earlier postings where you were cutting apart people for their opinions as well as their spelling and grammer.

I never cut anyone apart for their opinions. Perhaps your reading comprehension leaves a little to be desired.

I am flattered that you would even read my profile. You are trying your best to hurt me, but it's not working. You are obviously offended because someone took a stand against YOUR religious beliefs. Well live with it lady, because believe it or not, not everyone thinks the way you do.

i'm sorry i had to pull this from my previous quote to refer to mr. magoo's post.

In fact, I ENCOURAGE you to leave. This country will be a better place.

no, i kid you not mr. magoo and no my head is not up my ass!!! i don't have to try living in iraq, mexico or anywhere else. you see, i know people from all over the world and their countries are much better than our, just in different ways. as for FREEDOM, what FREEDOM do we have anymore. YOU PEOPLE as you say WOW!!!! us people were once able to walk along the streets FREELY back in a day but it's MORONS like YOURSELF that love belittling (sp) people and trying to tear them apart. now, why should i LEAVE the usa when it's useless people such as yourself that DON'T and WON'T stand up for YOURSELF, YOUR RIGHTS AS A CITIZEN or YOUR COUNTRY, you'd much rather TELL PEOPLE TO LEAVE. oh, you say THIS COUNTRY WILL BE A BETTER PLACE IF I WERE TO LEAVE....WHY IS THAT? WHO ARE YOU TO DETERMINE IF THIS COUNTRY WOULD BE BETTER IF I WERE TO LEAVE OR IF YOU WERE TO LEAVE? you know what? you better think twice about what you're going to say...all i have to do is say one thing and i'm holding that back for the day we cross paths and that will eventually happen.

Tell any soldier who has laid his life on the line for YOU and ME. Tell him you don't like it here. Tell him you don't give a damn about the sacrifices he made, fighting for YOUR rights, so you can complain about how bad it is to live in the USA.

LOL, now you're being too funny. i know plenty of soldiers that regrets ever laying their lives on the line for THIS GOD FORESAKEN COUNTRY. yes, they made sacrifices but it was THEIR CHOICE or they were DRAFTED.....they served this country unlike an ex president that was known as a DRAFT DODGER, where was his back bone.....they left that COWARD RUN THE COUNTRY AND TEAR IT DOWN.

4) LEAVE.

hmmm, it's more like my choices would be...................

1 - run for polical office, i'm sure I would have more votes than YOU.
2 - I can make this place a better place, can YOU?
3 - oh, i know how this government works.....they raise OUR taxes to put more money in THEIR pockets of GIVE IT AWAY!
4 - YOU LEAVE!

We are in a country that lays down the lives of their OWN soldiers so people in other countries can have something remotely close to the freedoms we enjoy. it's more like we are in a country ran by the government feeling the NEED of GREED leaving out THE LAND OF THE FREE. the people from other countries that come here are here because they GOVERNMENT IS PAYING THEM TO COME HERE. THE GOVERNMENT IS ALLOWING THEM TO LIVE IN THE GOOD OL' U.S.A. TAX FREE FOR 5 YEARS, GIVING THEM $XXX AMOUNT OF DOLLARS TO START A BUSINESS, ALLOW THEM TO START A BUSINESS AND CONSIDERING THEM AS A MINORITY....IN ALL REALITY THE "WHITE MAN" INCLUDING YOURSELF IS CONSIDERED AS A MINORITY!!! as for the U.S.A providing financial support...HA HA HA, don't make me laugh too much cuz it hurts. that's why the elderly don't get enough to survive on, they can't afford the medicare and medical expenses. my parents just got a WHOLE $29.00 A MONTH RAISE IN THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY JUST TO HAVE IT TAKEN AWAY BECAUSE THEIR HEALTHCARE INCREASES AS WELL. the veterans don't even get that much as well. as for the homeless...the government don't care where they live but some of the people do. TELL ME, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU GAVE AWAY QUITE A FEW $$$ AND I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT SINGLE DOLLARS EITHER TO SHELTER A VET? as for me saying this ISN'T A GREAT COUNTRY, IT'S MY RIGHT TO SPEAK UP!!! ALL I CAN SAY IS I WAS GIVEN A MOUTH TO OPEN AND A VOICE TO BE HEARD....TRUST ME, IT WILL BE HEARD!

I also only told u 2 shut up if u can't be nice in the way you express ur opinions, instead of always being insulting to me or anyone!
READ MY POST (125) U MOROON it states exactly what I said unless ur just to narrow minded 2 COMPREHEND...?
LOL micro... seems everyone else has an unlikely opinion about you, keep it up and maybe you'll CHOKE ON UR FOOT..??? LOL
And unless u served in the Military as my husband had and he hated the way our country was heading and was also the youngest Green Breat at the time and became a Seargent in the Army then contacted a deadly Diease, which beleive me he suffered horribly and was hard for me as well then yes keep ur opinions about me 2 urself!
As pony stated the goverment, doesn't pay much $$$ after there out of the service, which u would not understand since u never served!
Nor do I think u even could because ur 2 busy FLAPPING UR MOUTH which could then get everyone killed in ur troop....!
Everyone has a right to speak even u, but u DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO SLANDER ME OR ANYONE..!!!
I'am going thru a tough enough time as is w/ the Holidays coming that this is the last of my argument w/ u...like others stated.... after this.. u don't exist...! u will be ignored so save ur BAD BREATH....! SPLATT!!!

Laugh if you want to. WHEN have I ever personally attacked someone for their opinions, unlike OTHER people on this site? NEVER.

Why is it that whenever someone has an opinion that is DIFFERENT than yours, all of you people get pissed off? Does that REALLY bother you so much? Well, I'm sorry if it does. Believe it or not, there ARE other people in the world with valid ideas.

WHO doesn't take away people's rights? Maybe it's because these people don't have rights to begin with! Do you think people in Cuba are allowed to run public forums like this? What about in China, where they are allowed to own only ONE small dog? I am still waiting for you to tell me WHERE/WHICH country you would have a better life in?

OMGGGGGGG I hate 2 have 2 say this and agree w/ urs truly... but Pony we do have more rights here then any other country, I also have relatives in Albania, and thank the good lord they removed the Iron curtain many years ago...but they have not near the freedom we have, also my father was in the Army along w/ my husband and all my uncles, cousins ect!
And they were stationed from Korea, Germany, Vietnam, Pearl Harbor ...BUT!!!!!
I'am afraid were headed the same way as were losing more rights everyday!
As of yet we still have alot of freedom and this is why were being over populated w/ so many Foreigners coming here!
But as my belated Hubby always said were headed for a Revolutionary War if things keep going the way they are! PPL have been getting 2 upset w/ losing more rights here in our
good ole USA, more ppl are being made criminals w/ Laws like having one drink u get a DUI,
U can no longer drink and walk home or u get arrested for Public Drunkeness, u can't protect urself even in ur home or ur up for attempted or manslaughter whichever!
Example a Grandfather kills his grandaughters rapist in his own home, because the Rapist had no gun so the grandfather is up for murder...!!
U spend more time in jail for Drugs then u do if ur a child molester, Rapist or Murderer..????
If ur a Celebrity u get away w/ Murder and Child Molestion!!
Money talks ...Bull..Sh$tt WALKS..!!!
We have more Americans working 4 slave wages, but if ur a Foreigner ur hired 1st or even set up owning ur own business! in 5 years!
I mean wtf gives here..????
Thank the GOVERMENT, but they certainly give their selves enough pay rasies!
