Posted: 10/23/2006 11:24:48 AM | people who place fake pix are hiding who they are from the outside and maybe hiding who they are from the inside too. Not everyone can be trusted.
But pretty much if you see a perfect pix that looks like it is a fake chances are it is.........like those male model photos with the shirt off and a six to eight pack showing.................come on guys if you were that hot would you really have time to be on this site????????????
Or those women who look like they just popped out of Cosmo magazine...........really you wouldn't be here either.
It seems that the majority of the people on this site are mostly average looking people. no superstars. That is ok cause not everyone in America is a size 2, or a buff stud.
Show who you really are and don't be afraid....................there is nothing to loose. Nothing at all........think of what you could gain by just being yourself.
I feel I am average and I feel that honesty is the best policy!

I've noticed a few local women change their pic on their profile and it's a completely different person each time. And like others have said, if the picture looks too good and professional it's probably fake. I was accused once of having fake pics and she wouldn't even talk to me just because in one of my pics I had blurred out the background because there was a whole bunch of junk in the back of the picture that made an otherwise good pic look junky. Sometimes I think people are a little over paranoid. | |

Posted: 10/23/2006 4:50:35 PM | I think is is easier for many to put in a fake picture than to lose weight, take care of themselves, eat right, this may be why people do not put pictures in their profile.
If a person does not have a reasonable picture posted there may be something wrong, I keep my reply e-mail more like a chat room, I did reply to one local woman who posted a picture,by convince we met at a local fishing lake, when she arrived I discovered when she said she was 5.6 ft., I did not know she meant WIDE.
Be very careful , these chat rooms ARE dangerous if you decide to MEET someone your MEET may turn you into being their meat.
Remember it may be is easier to walk back wards to the moon than finding some who is worth your trust. | |

I don't know what they are thinking when they agree to meet you in person?? That u aren't going to notice? Or maybe not fake, but like 10 years old when they had hair, now they are George Costanza bald!! (not that bald is bad, I happen to LOVE bald men, but admit it, don't lie about it! ) It is like when women lie about their weight, I am a BBW, I admit it freely and have RECENT pics up.
I can't understand why someone has to be so self concious that they think they need to lie, but then again, isn't that the WHOLE PROBLEM DATING IN THIS DAY AND AGE?? | |

As for the issue, I agree that it is wrong to put up fake pictures, old pictures, deceiving pictures, etc. I prefer to be honest up front, including with what I look like. I admit I'm overweight. I don't consider myself model material in looks. But I am who I am and am not so ashamed of myself that I feel the need to hide behind lies (like fake pictures). Unfortunately not everyone has self esteem and accepts themselves for who they are instead of what they are.
Let's face it...we can control our personalities a lot easier than we can control our looks! Anyone who dates on looks alone will be very disappointed in the long run. The best dates I've ever had were with guys who weren't that hot looking, but had wonderful personalities! | |

oh,just a side thought, my daughter doesn't put up fake pictures, but she is very attractive, so has put up some of her unflattering pictures just to get responses from guys who are not just looking for the outer beauty. | |

isn't the answer to your questions included in this self-evident truth?
There are generally two types of people that do this:
1) the spammers that put up obviously fake pictures to attract attention and make a buck or two from the 100+ people that are being screwed in real life anyway because of their phenomenal gullibility.
2) the professional attention seekers that only care for the illusion of popularity even if it is virtual. This can have the interesting twist of men creating profiles of women and vice versa.
