Posted: 10/29/2007 11:26:27 AM | Cooky ya might be on to something there! But I believe that there are mainly 3 reasons, why folks put up a photo;
1) They are trying to scamm someone to think this is who they are, to play a game or to trick a person in participating in what they believe another will want to be a part of.
2) They do not like themselves enough to portray an actual image of who they really are, or what they think they look like to others so they use a photo that is (blurry, dark, old, similiar) not very good to hide their faults of which they believe another will not accept. And hope that their personality will outshine there image of themselves. ...which does happen now and then.
Add on- (NO PIC... they just do not have the techno stuff to put up a digtial pic).
3) These type folks are not ashamed at all, they know they have something worthwhile , either abit bold, unashamed, lives to be in the spotlight, likes to show off what they have, and who they are inside. Havin somewhat of a healthy esteem, they are not affraid to strike out and see what happens . Usually extroverted, these folks make the most of what is available, and enjoy life in all its glory, and beauty.

I saw your join date as of 10/17, so you are reasonably new, unless you have been lurking for awhile. I lurked on the forums off and on for a year before I joined POF.

I was on this site over a year ago and had posted current fotos as well as older ones (clearly marked!) 'cuz we ALL age. That's the beauty (no pun intended!) of growing older - time catches us with everybody. I think the older one gets the more what's inside your heart gets shown on your face. Do you agree? | |

Posted: 7/10/2009 5:42:23 PM | I think I have less of a problem with people who use obvious fake pictures, like stars! how difficult is it really to distinguish Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Mariah Carey or Robert Redford, John Stamos, Hugh Jackman?
the real problems are the ones that use just better pics than themselves. there are plenty of sites and ways to get photos. what a shock you'll get when you see the real person!
and, I've heard many people, on this site and others, that most, like 75% or more, profiles are fake. that's bad too. | |
