Maybe he's mature enough to realize it takes much more than nice skin to create beauty ~ that comes from the inside out, not vice versa. I'm sure he finds you every bit as beautiful as his ex, maybe even more so depending on how the two of you relate to one another. Don't worry about his past, worry about the present. Insecurity will kill even the strongest relationships!!  | |

I tried to purge the image of it out of my head, but it morphed into the image of her and him having some stupid fantastic sex that i could never match. I knew better but my insecurities took over and ruined a perfectly good relationship. She was happy, i was happy, yet this one thing from her past haunted me. I broke up with her and within days knew I had made a huge mistake. But I also knew that the image would never go away for me. Others might have been able to look past it, but I didn't have the strength. I knew the truth about the guy was that he cheated on her quite a few times, treated her like crap, and was a failure in everything he ever tried and blamed everyone else. She was far better off with me than with him and I could never see it when I was with her. Time changes everything. Don't let similar thought patterns haunt you, realize just how much the past is the past for a reason. I have almost certainly said too much here, but I hope it helps someone! | |

Besides I know I can't be the only guy to have dumped picture perfect princesses flat on their derierres because they were just too superficial, give your guy some credit, maybe he has figured this out and you came out on top.
Either way he is yours now, so don't waste time with comparisons.

Anyway OP, it's possible the guy never has really put much stock in beauty. If he has always been pursued by attractive women, then that's who he's going to date. It could be he never did care what they looked like, maybe they were some of the nicest most loving generous women.
I think he's with you because he love's the person you are AND you happen to be attractive.
Now give the man some extra attention tonight for doubting him. | |

Whatever it was that broke them up, hopefully is different from what brought you two together. Also, even though we can see the 'whole picture', men usually have a particular 'taste' for chosen body parts. That's why you hear about breast men, leg men, ass men, etc.. While the ex might be stereotypically glamorous, she might have only had one or two of the critical things about her, physically, that mattered to him. You might have the same, or different attributes. Example. I like skinny girls. So breasts aren't an issue at all unless, of course they're too big. I really, really don't care. Now, I do like straight, silky hair (on her head, silly), and slender legs, which is more important to me. So, whatever he wants, you know you have. The trick is trying to figure out what it is, and not changing that. The final thing, of course, is personality. Even the most physically appealing woman can turn out to be an absolute witch, or even just have some inherent behavior (like screwing our best friends behind our back) which cancels out everything else. | |

Seriously, who cares what they looked? They are exes for a reason, and if he's with you NOW then how he feels about you NOW is all that matters. An inferiority complex, or constantly asking him questions about the issues, will only serve to fill his heart with doubts about YOU. Who wants to be with someone who constantly compares themselves to others or who are not happy weith who and what they are?
I say enjoy the relationship because of the two people involved. He's with you because of you.
Just because the ex was gorgeous does not equate to any long-standing qualities he may have been looking for in a partner. | |
