Okay, okay. I stand corrected. True enough my friend. Like I said, I wasn't trying to offend no one, just level the playing field. I hear you.
Wasn't trying to down you, I've just seen enough to know that 45lbs over your body weight is that great. Like I was saying, I can't bench either. I'm in pretty much the same boat you are when it comes to bench. My Lt has an amazing bench for his size. At 170lbs (6') he was hitting 330. I hate working out at my job, because with a couple of exceptions all of the people that go upstairs to work out are pushing over 300. A couple over 400lbs. They all pretty much weight between 200-and 250, with the ones weighing closer to 250 hitting upwards around the 400.

5'11" and 155? That can't be right. I'm 5'7" and almost 167 and people say I need to gain some weight most of the time
It is. I can eat all I want of what I want and not put on weight. I normally workout 5-6 days a week for about an hour at a time. Eat tons of protien. Just can't put on any weight.

It may be frustrating to not be able to gain mass but I have to smile at the thought of being able to have an ice cream addiction without the threat of a spare tire. lol.

| How many women here prefer short/skinny men? Posted: 6/5/2009 9:57:46 AM | Women generally do not want a little short man.
The same woman who will fawn over some tall man will walk past a short man with a cold and contemptuous attitude.
As I've stated in my profile because women like wearing heels and a fashion accessory is of greater importance to them then the man they are with it leaves men under a certain height AUTOMATICALLY AND UNEQUIVOCALLY ruled out.
This constant rejecting and indifferent attitude women have towards guys of lesser stature (and yes many DO consider a smaller man LESS of a man....okay but not all) wears and tears down a man's self confidence year in and year out. Decade after decade. And causes him to become incredibly frustrated.
A man can have many less than desirable traits for a womans taste. He can be alot things that a woman who is by his side wishes he were not......but.....the one thing most WILL NEVER accept is him being a little short man.
Okay.... well maybe women would be accepting of a lack of stature....if.....he was worth millions and knocking on deaths door with a bad heart or terminal brain cancer. Seriously though women have told me time and again whether it was chatting over the computer in cyberspace or with negative body language bristling past me in the real world they just aren't going to be physically attracted to shorter men.
A little short man is not what women desire.
Period. | |

| How many women here prefer short/skinny men? Posted: 6/5/2009 12:16:50 PM | Height is very often a specific criteria in getting dates.
Height is a prerequisite for many women. A starting mark which will determine whether or not they are willing to date a man.
I've been around long enough to know.

| How many women here prefer short/skinny men? Posted: 6/5/2009 12:36:48 PM | | tallguy: I run into it a lot myself, and I definitely see your logic but there seems to be plenty of women (not online) who will date a shorter man from my experiences. There is a definite rudeness or political incorrectness when people talk to a shorter person though. I clearly state in my profile what my height is but women still seem a bit rude about it when you finally meet them. Every time I've met someone for a date I usually say something like "nice to meet you" then try to shake hands. At this point, like clockwork, they always say "You're smaller than I thought" and don't shake my hand. Even if they're willing to go out with me again they still say this. It's something that I find kind of humorous now but it is EXTREMELY rude and it's not a rare occurance. It would be like me meeting a woman for the first time and instead of saying "nice to meet you", I said "gee you're fat" or "wow you're flat chested!". This would be unacceptable but somehow it's fine for someone to make negative comments about being short (or skinny). Seems weird to me. | |

| How many women here prefer short/skinny men? Posted: 6/5/2009 12:58:44 PM | I know exactly what you're speaking to cw35.
I've met a few women off here that instantly took issue with my stature. In two instances though the women weren't interested in dating me the dates went okay because they were nice enough and we still managed to have a nice time. In another instance I stood in the parking lot of a restaurant waiting while the woman waited in the car wondering of my whereabouts. Upon calling me on my cell phone and realizing it was me standing there the whole time her attitude immediately soured.
Thereafter.... I made sure the women who seemed interested in my profile were aware of my smaller, though very fit, stature. And....not suprisingly they all lost further interest.
So.....thus I typed up this profile which expresses my disdain for the online dating process which is filled with women who scorn someone like me.
And yes.... in doing a thread search on threads such as these some of the woman are very callous towards men they consider "short".

I understand where you're coming from. Honestly speaking, I don't care if a woman doesn't like me simply because of my stature or size. Everyone has their own preferences....its their loss, not mine. What I don't understand is when they say it's an "issue" like you're suppose to "change" your height. That is something that cannot be helped so I wouldn't define that as an "issue". I wouldn't worry about those type of ladies. Just find one who is into "you". Let those other ones keep searching is all I can say.

While this may be true, I guess I'm NOT the norm when it comes to dating men. Perhaps I attribute it to someone that I was seriously involved with when I was 19 and, he stood 6'4" in stature. After that relationship ended, it just happened that I never went out with men that were very tall again...and, I DON'T believe it was by choice. It just sort of worked out that way and what I was attracted to. I've always thought that I was 5'4" until recently when having my annual physical, I was told that I was 5'3". I was amazed and shocked and said..."What? I've shrunk?" "Quite possibly", the nurse said. I had to revise my profile here for my height and will have to adjust my driver's license as well, I suppose. It doesn't really matter to me that much. I've always dealt with the fact that I'm a "shortie". BUT...I've since in my later years (and dating again) just preferred men that were shorter and closer to my stature. I guess even wearing high heels (about 2 -3 inches, no higher), I am about 5'6" and so anyone at that height or taller up to 6'0" is certainly taller than me. As far as skinny...I'm in agreement with the ladies that mentioned that "they prefer men with some meat on their bones". I want someone that I can still be close to, fit under their arm (not their belt buckle...LOL) and just feel comforted. Granted, within reason, I wouldn't want them to have TOO much meat on them that they weren't able to be in intimate positions without being uncomfortable or feel constricted.
So, again, NOT being the "norm" here, I stand solid with my decision that SHORT MEN ROCK!!!! (not that you TALL MEN DON'T ROCK EITHER), but I guess I'm just proving a point that there ARE women out there that admire and like a shorter man, so DON'T take it personally. (WE ARE HERE!!!)

| How many women here prefer short/skinny men? Posted: 6/25/2009 4:19:25 AM | I prefer to look directly into a man's eyes, not his belly button. Tall men pat me on the head, walk fast enough that I have to skip to keep up, make jokes about how short I am and are hard to cuddle standing up.
Short men make sex more intimate. Nothing better than face to armpit when you're naked. Not.
Yes, Beth. SHORT MEN ROCK!!!!!

skinny guys are gross!! Like EWW!! actually skinny anything is gross!! I don't like bones jabbing and bruising me.
The only thing that is going to be jabbing you when with a skinny guy is his big D1ck. Yes it is true, all skinny guys are huge.
I do not recall hearing bones clanking together when I have been with skinny or curvy women so I guess my bones must actually be beneath my skin and muscle like everybody else.
Wow Imagine that!!! | |

| How many women here prefer short/skinny men? Posted: 6/25/2009 7:51:24 AM | I doubt they do. Most seem to want a tall guy. Espically the short girls.
The shorter they are....the taller they want the guy to be.
I'll never understand that.
I'm half of it. I'm short....but fat. I'll never be skinny....it's not my body type.

| How many women here prefer short/skinny men? Posted: 6/25/2009 12:37:03 PM | One of the things I've noticed with women preferring men who are taller and a little chunkier is that they just don't want someone smaller than them. I'd argue that weight is generally a bigger issue for most women and being with a guy who is thinner than her just won't work because it can actually make them feel bad.
I know my ex always comments on how I was skinnier and say that I weighed less than her to people. I didn't give a crap. I'm not gonna pack on 50 pounds just to make someone else feel better about themselves. Fix your diet or stop complaining. It's not hard to manage your weight if you actually take the time to learn the science behind it. For those of you who say you can't add or loose weight, you're simply not doing it right.

| How many women here prefer short/skinny men? Posted: 6/25/2009 8:06:27 PM | | michael: I notice the whole big chunky/out of shape guy fixation sometimes too. I think it's hilarious and a little bit said. I can't imagine being so fixated on one physical characteristic that I would completely ignore health, looks, personality etc. but it appears that women do it all the time. You can get away with a whole lotta flaws as long as you have height. You can be the best looking, fit, together guy and a lot of women will pass you over just because of height. I'm thinking that all the working out is a big waste of time for us shorter people. Could be time to stop putting so much energy into something that really isn't appreciated. | |

I've been around long enough to know. I've been around long enough to know it's very fungible - if not downright irrelevant.

| How many women here prefer short/skinny men? Posted: 9/4/2009 8:37:02 AM | | Ok a typical short guy is around 5`5. Now to be skinny he would have to be in the 110-120 lb range. The average female is 5`5 145 lbs. I dont know of any woman who actually prefers to be bigger and stronger than her man. But notice that I emphasise prefer. There maybe other qualities that would attract her. My best friend is much smaller and weaker than his wife. However it was his personality, charm, intelligence that was the attraction. | |
