| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/16/2007 11:53:37 AM | Gosh some of these women here look gorgeous in their long hair. Others of us look like old hags with long hair. I would hope a man wouldn't think that short hair is a "can't be bothered" message.
Short, Soft and curly can be cute too, can't it?

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/16/2007 6:36:55 PM | The last time I got my hair cut, had to argue with my stylist......MALE...... Various hair styles compliment a woman/man's face ........it all goes together......the complete package........ I don't look Good with really short hair......... But I also stay pretty contemporary.......nothing worse than a man/woman who has had the SAME hair style over a certain length of time.......some times a change, even a moderate one, is better.......
If she has great hair, and looks good in it, why not???????

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/17/2007 1:15:12 AM | I'm in agreement with the "Short Hair, can't be bothered" message.. Even a Homely looking face becomes more attractive with long, clean hair. For any women, their long Hair is my first attraction to look their way, and usually Short haired women get little notice, unless they have a fantastic figure.. But add long Hair to that, and I am Immediately fixated on a near complete angel, appearance wise.. Looks can be deceiving though.
Long Hair does not make the Heart, but does give a better sense of a Woman's patience of understanding Children and Men.. I think. But then, Both of my Grandmothers had Lonnngg Hair that they wore in a bun during the day, and let it out at night.. I was always amazed at how long it was..
In my mind of dreams, I can only picture a Woman with long hair, always.. With highlights and the Scent, soft on my face, and the feel of silk to my touch.

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/18/2007 6:28:34 PM | | It seems to me that most men prefer long hair. I cannot remember any man asking me to get it cut! My hair was REALLY SHORT all through high school and whenever I joined the Army, of course they wanted it short and out of the way. I rebelled, grew it waist length and tucked it under my hat! It's never gone above my shoulders since then. For me, short hair takes more effort than long, because I would have to blow dry it, etc. . I like it long bc all I do is wash it and go. I am a no fuss kind of person, minimal makeup if any, so not messing with my hair is my preference! | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/19/2007 1:54:04 PM | Some older women can wear longer hair, and if well maintained (hair stylist) on a regular basis is becoming. However, that doesn't mean that every woman can wear longer hair like this. Mostly long hair on an older woman, especially if kept close to the face and hanging down, just makes everything else on her face look even more sagging. Just a fact.
In my opinion, I think women try to have longer hair to appease their male counterparts. Men have always loved long hair.
I like long hair too, but have long given up the fact that it doesn't look good on me anymore. So, I compromise and keep it just below chin length, where I have some flexibility, but it doesn't looked chopped off either. I'm ready for it to be styled again.... if I could just find the time.

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/20/2007 2:44:29 AM | | I will have long hair forever.....and it is to please me....who cares what the men think! I'm my own person (therefore very intimidating) and am fine the way I am! | |

Bestestfish, whatever your motivation may be, long hair on you looks REALLY GOOD, and although you aren't exactly an "older woman", anyone who wonders why men like a woman as she approaches 40 and beyond, with longer hair, need look no further than your picture, for the answer. :)

Short, Soft and curly can be cute too, can't it? As long as there's enough to grab a mit full... yup.

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/20/2007 10:31:48 PM | | Hi All - When I was in my 30s my hair was long now I keep it a little longer than shoulder length bcuz I like it this way. Longer hair is lots of work. I'm trying to get into my "low maintenace" years. :0) | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/20/2007 10:37:44 PM | I wish short looked good on me but it doesn't. I've seen some women that look stunning in really short cropped looks but that's not me. And I've seen some women in their 60's-70's that have long white hair and they are absolutely gorgeous.
I'll have long hair as long as it continues growing out of my head. When I'm 90 and have nothing left but little wisps fluttering in the breeze, I'll get extensions like Paris Hilton and be ded sexi. Rawr!

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/21/2007 1:59:02 PM | To Irreverent Lass,
You have GORGEOUS hair....I only wish...... ......sigh......but somehow, I think you'd still look beautiful even if you were wearing a swimming cap.....seriously....!
Me? I'll be lucky to even have hair left by the time I'm 55....at the rate it's going I might not....baldness runs on both side of my family .....for both men AND women....but oh well....such is life....maybe the fashion will be the *bald* look by then....who knows....one can only hope! haha!
Love and peace...

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/21/2007 4:29:55 PM | Oh well, I'm a 54 year old non-gorgeous woman here. Still keeping my hair long. And I still wear it in braids when it's hot outside or like the photo here! (taken today) Hey, what can I say? It's me. lol

We're not a "match", so this is just to express appreciation. You're beautiful, and your hair is the fist thing I'd notice. It's gorgeous, so feminine, and so nice. Thank you for the "eye candy".

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/26/2007 6:02:30 PM | | I guess it all depends not necessarily on your age but the condition of your hair. I prefer longer hair on myself-right now it is about shoulder length. If you are going to wear your hair long you should make sure you get regular trims so it doesn't appear scraggly and condition it so it doesn't look dry and brittle. It take a little more maintence with everything when you're over 40 and that includes your hair!! | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/27/2007 7:07:05 AM | Wow, ChicagoLady, your hair is cool
Long hair isn't me - I cut my hair with a razor and it brings out my features more so than if I had a lot of hair
|
| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/27/2007 6:24:42 PM | I am really lucky
My dad is 88 and has no grey hair. I am hoping I take after him. So far, I have never had a grey hair. I think if it turned grey, I would cut it. Right now, every time I have cut my hair shorter, I have been sorry. It's always right at my shoulders.
|
| Long hair on older women Posted: 7/11/2007 8:02:39 AM | | I personally feel I look younger and better with my hair long. I have tried different lengths and styles from my natural straight to a curly perm. I think a woman's or man's for that matter style of hair is all up to the person's preferences. I will be 52 in August and when people guess my age it is usually late 30's to early 40's. I love it!!! | |
|
| Long hair on older women Posted: 7/11/2007 8:52:48 AM | | I have always had waist length hair (just cut off 6"and I feel nakid with out it). In summer is it always french braided but down in the winter or cooler nites. I love the time I spent on my hair (dont do the makeup thing), and yeah upkeep is expensive, but its just simply a part of who I am and who I have always been. Besides what is sexier then a woman shaking out her long hair after it was up? | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 7/11/2007 10:04:13 AM | I think it's about what suits the individual, no matter the age.
My hair has been long most of my life, but I like to experiment with different styles - from straight to curly to bangs, no bangs and layering. If I ever mention cutting my hair I get the NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lol But, it comes down to what makes me feel comfortable. I've had the desire, at times, to go shorter, but instead I play with different styles while keeping the length. Cutting your own hair, as I do, allows you to experiment anytime you wish and layering helps to mask the mistakes lol
Maybe my hair is a security of sorts. It's always with me wherever I go lol

| Long hair on older women Posted: 7/11/2007 10:17:47 AM | I figure if my hair looks good on me and is long enough for a man to run his fingers thru and grab in play, ... well, that will have to do, LOL
I am more than just the hair on my head.
|
| Long hair on older women Posted: 7/11/2007 11:02:09 AM | We are all a lot more than just our hair - long or short.
Women with long hair may be seen by some as just eye candy, but treat us that way, and you will quickly learn differently.
Can you imagine thinking a man is eye candy just because he has facial hair
|
| Long hair on older women Posted: 7/11/2007 10:27:50 PM | HA!!! I don't want any man who judges me by the length of my hair ...
If I should get sick and lose it ... is he going to leave me because of that? I should hope not.
But if he does, then I hope he doesn't let the door hit him in the A$$ on his way out!!!

| Long hair on older women Posted: 7/12/2007 4:23:54 PM | Personally, I don't think age should have much to do with hair length. As for me, I worked in a medical field for many years where short hair was a requirement, so now I wear my hair long for ME and me only. If my dates like it, cool, if not, their issue, not mine. Ladies, wear whatever YOU like and what you feel is flattering and comfortable for you and your lifestyle. Just my opinion | |
