| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/4/2007 2:38:02 PM | My hair grows so fast that sometimes I can't believe it myself. Just a couple of months ago it was almost down to my waist ... I cut over six inches off and here we go again. My hair is long because I think it's bothersome to have to keep going to get it cut when it's short ... what a doggone hassle (and it's expensive as well).
I've never had a man complain about it ... and so if wants it short ... he better start forking out the money for the hair cuts every three weeks ... that's how fast it grows. If I have short hair, it starts looking shaggy after about three weeks.
Let's not forget ... nothing feels quite so sexy as to feel my hair falling down around my shoulders and back as I stand there naked, trying to decide what to wear. Imagine what a man must be thinking as he watches me? Imagine what it must look like when I turn around and my hair is draped lazily over my breasts.
Pfffft ... men love long hair ... even on older women ... | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/4/2007 9:30:42 PM | | I think long hair looks good on some older woman and short hair on others. It depends on your bone structure and face shape. I believe it is important not to hold onto a "dated" look and keep could care of your tresses. | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/5/2007 4:51:12 AM | I had long hair up until one week ago. I cut it to donate it to "Locks of Love". I know most men say they like long hair but I can tell you I have gotten much more attention since I got it all cut off then I ever did when it was long. My daughter is a stylist so my hair has always been very healthy and shiney. Especially while growing it this time because we were donating it. I think it depends on your face and body structure what makes you look old or young with you hair length. But come on hair down to your butt when your 50???? | |

| Long hair on older women? Posted: 10/5/2007 8:00:44 AM | way to go mkly - i did the same back in 03 and donated to a place that made a wig for my niece who was going thru chemo - she ok now.......i have always had long hair - its everywhere and in everything! takes forever to dry......when i shaved and i have the pic - OMG - i was devastated - not realized how much my feminity was tied in to my hair......i felt different, thought differently and a small part of me enjoyed the freedom, but it grows so long - i just leave it.....for sure most men love long hair, but they not know the fiddling, farting around with and all-around hassle at times...... yeah, i know, long hair on a 50 yr old? not sure i like that cartooning of myself.......but than again - will i have grown up by then? LOL - sure hope not! | |

| Long hair on older women? Posted: 10/5/2007 6:11:14 PM | I only had short hair when I was forced to wear it that way as a child, since then I had it shorter for a few years in my early 30's but didn't like it. I like my long hair, keep it trimmed and in a stylish cut...I don't like long hair that looks like it was styled in the 1890's or the 1980's (mullet) and generally don't like long hair on men. But I do think hair is a very special projection of what we think of ourselves to many people, I like my hair long so I wear it long for me, and will continue to do so until I decide otherwise. I could never wear shoulder length hair, I need to be able to pull it into a pony tail when it is hot but I don't care who thinks I'm too old for long hair, it's my hair, I'll wear it how I chose and I think everyone else should have the same option. | |

| Long hair on older women? Posted: 10/5/2007 8:19:55 PM | | I agree with the person who said it depends on the woman, some look good with long hair and some look better with short hair IMO. But I think the same thing is true for women of all ages, not just "older" women..... what used used to be old to me is not anymore LOL | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/5/2007 9:05:04 PM | The reason longer hair on woman old or young is better from a guys point , is that a woman of all ages with long hair are more sensual than ones with that Mommy haircut that lots of Mommy's get when they are raising small kids (when the kids are more important than the Man) . Long Hair at any age shows that she feels very feminine and because of feeling very feminine women of all ages that have longer hair are just plain better in the bedroom than short hair girls by the numbers . And every guy that has experience in that department will tell you so, Of course there are always exceptions and of course some short haired girls can be very hot , but in general when you look at a large number of women and do the comparison long hair women of all ages are in general more sexy, feminine, and therefore more desired by men ! So if you ask me keep it long at any age . | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/6/2007 8:44:56 AM | hammer - omg, what a silly thing to say - how does the reverse situation apply to men?? If you part it on the side and do a comb over your bald spot it means you aren't sensual, (probably just means you are lacking in good taste) or if you keep it covered with a baseball cap, it means you are sensual -just having a "bad hair day" and what about the shaved trend...sometimes other people's ideas really crack me up but to equate long hair to sexual performance - oh heaven help us all | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/6/2007 9:21:26 AM | | Long hair has been and always will be attractive on any age of woman (as long as she takes care of it of course). Short hair is alright too but a gal has to mess with it more to make it look decent. As for me, long is the best with curl, thickness and lots of body. Long hair on guys is attractive as well, of course if he keeps it well groomed. The main thing is what the gal wants, isn't that what really matter? | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/6/2007 10:10:18 AM | | I still wear my hair long and I am over 60! This is how I like it and so do all my male friends. Yes, that is important to me. I get compliments on my hair from guys young and old, and from females also. However, I think each person should wear their hair they way they like it and think it looks best, regardless of what their reason might be. | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/6/2007 11:05:21 AM | We are all different and for some long hair works and for others it doesn't - simple as that - there's no ultimate right or wrong - just preference. But for the record I am almost 49 years young and look fairly cool with long hair - please check my profile out for the evidence. Times are definately changing (thank God/Goddess) - and women are more confident about themselves and their aging process now. Just because someone is the "wrong side of 50" - why can't they be sexy, drop dead gorgeous and divinely beautiful. I was quite ordinary, plain and uninteresting in my 20's - but now I feel I am the most beautiful I have ever been - as I have worked on myself - from the inside / out.
Divine Blessings to all you Goddesses out there over 40 - I love you all.

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/6/2007 12:23:33 PM | | My hair is between my shoulder blades until the last few days of October; that's when I hit 40. I've always been under the belief that a woman of age needs to cut her hair or be like the ladies that keep it up all the time. Sadly, that's what I've become. I've developed the three minute "pull my hair up and look professional" hair do. I really think I'll spend more time on it once I cut it, because I'm going to go for a very detailed, precise cut and probably a dual color. Then again, I just might stay lazy and leave it long. It really takes no longer to dry it in the morning than short hair. I wash it at night in the shower, leave it wet, wake up and put some mousse on it, dry it, curl parts of it, then put it in a clip. Professional with little to no fuss. Since I have a suit/heels/business meeting career, it seems to work well. But dang, if I don't want Victoria Beckham's hair, only just a little bit longer. However, I know she has a personal stylist that takes about 2 hours every day to get it to look specatucular. Dang it.... | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/6/2007 1:21:33 PM | OK here's my 2cents...
I'm 40-something and my hair is long. Let's be honest, long hair is sexy and alluring and serves 2 main functions;
A) it's for attracting men in a sensual, wild way that short hairstyles simply cannot, and
B) it's for whipping around and being pulling during sex and foreplay.
OK the women will take issue with those comments and the men will be smiling to themselves. But the truth is, long sexy hair will always be the preference of men and the envy of other women. Years ago I wore my hair very short and even though I liked the look, I coveted long locks... so over time I grew my hair out. Unlike most others who said caring for their long hair was no more troublesome or expensive than short hair... not so for me. I spend big bucks getting my hair blown out in a salon every several days, and I invest in quality hair care products as well - not to mention a couple of hundred dollars everytime I get highlights & color. It's worth every penny. I get compliments all the time whether it's long shiny and sleek, or long wild and curly.
PS: I cut it infrequently so that when I finally do, there is ENOUGH hair (min. 10") to donate to LOCKS OF LOVE, a charity that takes donated human hair and makes wigs for children who have lost theirs due to chemo treatments. I urge everyone with long hair to do this. It's another GREAT reason to keep growing your tresses!
Be well! | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/7/2007 6:32:15 AM | | I think it all depends on the lady & her facial features. Though I have dated women with long hair there is nothing I find more visually appealing than a beautiful lady that can wear her hair short. | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 10/7/2007 8:47:20 AM | Well as u see, love long hair I am 59 Grandmother, my children do not even want to hear about me cutting my hair, love to tack my hair up or whatever I do with it depends on my venture
And it as been years same style
Short , long it is how we feel and we all look different in other people eyes
Most important is how u feel, after all when u look in the mirror and feel good about what u see that is what is important
