I dont think a woman's age should be reason for her to cut her hair. My hair is past my waist and I love it. You dont see many women with very very long hair, but it does get noticed. Where was it ever written that when a woman ages she should cut her hair? My grandmother would ask me all the time, when I was younger .."When are you going to grow up and cut that hair"...lol..God love her...I guess it was just the generation.

I had beautiful long auburn hair complete with ringlets until the age of 5 years when my mom got fed up with me screaming every time I saw the brush. At 5 years old til about 10 I went to the barber shop with my dad and brother and got a pixie cut just a shade longer than a buzz cut. From 16 years on I let my hair grow and have cut it only a few times since. I now have long thick glossy auburn hair and will never cut it again except to trim...men I meet love long hair on women. I am almost 50 and still look much better in long hair than short.

With everything going on in the world, I find it incomprehensible that people will write about long hair for 26 pages...gawd, I guess everyone is either bored out of their minds, tired of the ugliness in the world or who knows - rather funny if you think about it...26 pages???

Yeah its a silly topic, but obviously something everyone can talk about. Most people at one time or another had or have hair. However alot of topic on here most people can't talk about....they don't relate to them!

Hey i said it like it is, doe sent matter if anyone thinks its silly the truth is most men feel that way , just like balding men that comb their hair over the bald spot don't even look that sexy to themselves otherwise they would not comb the hair over the bald spot to hide it , Besides using balding is a bad example cause balding is natural and involuntary , and short hair is unnatural and voluntary. Its just a fact of life and its no big deal no one can change this. Men or Woman. And i say it again Short hair is not as sexy as long hair to most men by definition a lot of women say short hair is more easy to take care of so the have gotten lazy and value convenience more than looking very sexy . Would i go and have i with a short haired women sure i have would i like her hair to be longer in most cases yes i would, Tell you a story once upon a happy time i was married my wife had beautiful long brunette hair , one day she came home from the beutychop and had most of it cut off , so she gave me the Classic Question , "Do you like my Haircut" ..... I said honey .... i am going to kill the **** that cut your hair.
in order to slightly milden and not directly make her feel like i taught she was out of her mind..... Oh and i looked at your profile picture your hair is on the long side How come you don't have a Mommy haircut?:modhammer:

I had been letting my hair grow since last spring and really couldn't decide what to do about it until a few weeks ago when I cut it to a multi-layered shoulder length. I could see the difference in the the stylist's mirror right away. There was far more body, bounce, and natural wave and it made me look less tired.

i keep my long hair, becaue it is much easier for me to manage; just wash and blow dry, that's it. i do not do it for men. short hair needs much more care; cut, trim often curl or use an iron to keep it straignt every time you wash. my mother, who is 80, still has long hair and has had hers long for all her life.

What I don't understand is why women need to colour grey hair.Especially with the link between hair dyes and cancer.I am proud of my grey streaks and I know many women with grey hair and it is beautiful.Long hair, short hair a woman should have her hair the way that she loves and makes her feel beautiful. I have long hair and am over fifty. Its healthy because I dont use dyes and blowdryers.Just be yourself I say. Don't do what "they" say you should or shouldn't do!

I personally keep my hair longer because it suits me. My son keeps begging me to keep the gray with the length. He thinks it's cool but he doesn't realize how dry gray hair is. Length and gray don't go well together most of the time. That being said I think it is an individual choice. I know that if my hair was thinning I would definitely keep it shorter. Long hair shows balding spots. I have one thin spot near my forhead which I cut and style correctively.

I wouldn't wear my hair stick straight and down to my waist though. That's a look that even very few young women can get away with. Even when they think they do.

I totally agree. Long hair is easier unless you have bald spots. If you are having a bad hair day all you need is a ponytail. Perfect.

My hair was down to my waist and was looking terrible so I grabbed it the other day and cut it to my mid back and yes, it did look a lot better and have more bounce and once again, someone complimented me on my hair when I was out that day.

Now I'm toying with the idea of cutting it really short again (more bounce?) because I do think it makes me look older sometimes. I didn' t plan to grow my hair. It's my hairdresser's fault! She took a leave of absence and by the time she came back, her hair was long and mine was long and I liked the way hers looked and figured I would keep it long. It's easy care for the beach..........I just throw it up in a ponytail or in a clip and off I go. I don't have to worry about curling little pieces of hair so they all go under.........

I like to have different hair lengths because sometimes I like to change my appearance. My hair has been short, medium, and long. I feel comfortable in all of these hairstyles. Most people tell me that I look better in long hair.

I'm 44, and some of my (women) friends give me grief about my age and my hair, but I like it. Period. It's me!
Besides I am not so great at the amount of upkeep short hair takes...cuts all the time, styling all the time, etc.
Yes, it takes longer to dry because it's long, but that's ok. I love the older women models with long grey fabulous hair, and maybe one day I'll be one of them. For now, pass the bottle!! But I'll NEVR go short!

I love long hair on a woman! it falls great in my face when we are making love. It looks sexy, and a great turn on. its also a evolution thing. Long hair is a sign of being attractive.
She teases me with her hair, and I love giving her scalp rubs, makes her relaxed, and wet.

Someone said "Older women with long hair is a despirate attempt to maintain their youth." I don't think that is true. I am over 50 and gave up on my youth a long time ago. I wear my hair long because I like it and, believe it or not,,, it is easier. I am in healthcare and keep my hair pulled up at work. Much easier than when it was short and I had to fix it every day. I am surprised that people still attach a definition as to how a woman's age should determine how she looks.
