| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/4/2008 7:47:35 AM | As I stated before on another page.. I have long hair and very comfortable with it.
Now why, saramana, does that automatically, (in your mind), go with short-shorts, mini's, bare midrift, heavy makeup, stileto heels, body art, acting 'too young', etc.? I don't get it. Why do you put me, due to my age and long hair, in the category of also dressing that way? In all your posts, it seems you do. You can't seem to get the point that while some do... well, some of us older ladies with long hair just don't dress like that. I see that as a "personal attack"... indirectly, but personal all the same.

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/4/2008 9:53:07 AM | geez.....some of you folks have been spending a bit
much too much time in front of the glow of the flatscreen
I guess.
I don't care in the least whether you 'get it'....that's not essential at
all in re 'opinion'.
Third grade, snide, or banal personal attacks seem ineffective
as well...but not totally unexpected......but the surly, instructive
tone is also revealing.
Have fun | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/4/2008 9:56:44 AM | I think you need to get a life......I wear longer hair and quite frankly I could care less what you think, MBA or not. I'm not trying to impress you. At this point in my life it's about what I like and want not some anal man...........like I said get a life and then worry about everyone else........ | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/4/2008 9:59:35 AM | | Besides if you don't like it then just don't look. Didn't your mother ever teach you "if you don't have something nice to say, say nothing at all ?" | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/4/2008 10:18:39 AM | Oh come one.... that's like asking me if I want an Oreo or a FudgeeO!!
Hum... can I have one of each?

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/4/2008 10:29:08 AM | | Saramana, You feel that others have been unfair and are attacking you? Maybe you should read your own statements and see if they do not sound unfair and offensive. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. | |

Since you wanted to know Ms RUNNING : PhD ? well no.....but I didn't see a MBA/JD box to check fair enough ? Second point : What's with the personal attack ?? that is unnecessary and is revealing about YOU.....why do you find it necessary to attempt to attack a poster personally, as opposed to the content of the post ? Cheap, stupid stuff
Yes it is revealing about me. I do take offence to your limited view of 50 year olds that you address as being “wrinkled n old”. I detest being included as my age is 50 and I’ve earned every smiling line I have on my face. Of course its personal…

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/4/2008 1:06:01 PM | | Cat Fight! CAT FIGHT at twelve o'clock ..and it's a good one folks! All the long and short of 'splitting hairs' or pulling these out so far, and I'm not even going to try to figure own who's in who other's corner or taking opposite ones for tossing barbs. Naughty, naughty. | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/4/2008 1:28:42 PM | | I'd like to address the last question. I'm 47 and my hair is almost waist length. The reason I choose to keep my hair that long is because of childhood issues with my mother. Until I was in my late teens my hair was kept cut to about chin length as it was so thick and curly. It's true it does take effort for daily upkeep but I shudder even when it comes time to trim it. So I guess my vote is in.. my hair is long because I CHOOSE it to be. thanks, wyckeddaisy | |

I'm too spoiled by having short, easy-to-care-for hair

geez.....some of you folks have been spending a bit

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/5/2008 5:49:57 AM | I just had to reply to this as I've heard this before in my own family and just had to share. My aunt is in her mid 40's and recently let her hair grow long, I think she looks sexy and beautiful. My uncle (her brother) said she should cut her hair cause she was getting 'too old' to have long hair. Did I mention he's bald?? No one likes to talk back to him for some reason and he's always an expert on everything (in his own mind). Well! I said to him, you know what I've heard of penis envy but I think you have HAIR envy'. Well that shut down that discussion. When I was on ly 21 I had a hairdresser (and I use the term loosely) butcher my hair and cut it really short and it soooo did not suit me. It dramatically aged me at least 10 - 15 years. I am one of those people who do not suit short hair regardless of age. I think it's your hair, on your head and regardless of age, or what is considered 'in style' you should wear it how YOU like it and are comfortable. I had some snippy young thing tell me I should cut myhair cause it 'wasn't in style' and I said well then when long hair comes back I'll be ahead of the game won't I? And I was lol Do what feels best for you. | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/5/2008 8:27:29 AM | It's time for me to push myself back from the computer,
'get a life'...and of course
I'm going to munch on some MORE chocolates and cookies
and pretzels now
so I can put on a few more extra pounds......for my new picture..
and for my new 'lying mirror mirror on the wall'....
I love freedom of choice...and of course free will too
ON THE BEACH ! | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/5/2008 9:09:47 AM | If that's a slam on me for the few extra pounds on my profile you may want to rethink it......since that picture I've dropped 4 sizes so I'm really not offended........however since you're a man(and we know u think u know everything) I'm quite sure that you considered that.........since I exercise daily walking 3 or more miles maybe you really don't recognize healthy when it's there........I'd be careful on that beach there are alot of sharks out there and you appear to be supreme sharkbait...........I mean with the big head and all.........hear they love brains.............get a life creep........ | |
|
| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/5/2008 9:22:57 AM | I think that's a gread idea, Sara. I hope none of the older ladies at the beach offend your delicate sensibilities by putting their hair in a ponytail and wearing a bikini. | |
|
| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/6/2008 7:50:53 AM | Yesterday, while on the beach I did see a few great looking
women....in shape...some great swimwear too...
then there were a few washed out, lard-azz, potato-chip
eating, pathetic 50 year old fatties sporting swim suits
that should have belonged on a much younger woman....
but you see all kinds of idiots on the public beach for sure......
It takes all kinds.....America is great

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/24/2008 4:21:07 AM | | I think whatever length suits you the best that is how you should wear your hair. I don't think just because you are older or gray(ing) that you have to now wear your hair short. Some people just don't suit short hair no matter what their age is. | |
|
| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/24/2008 4:55:51 AM | I've seen woman of all ages with long hair, short hair, or something inbetween. If they look good at whatever age with whatever hair lenght who cares? I happen to like long hair on a woman. The longer the better. However, I've seen some woman that I know that had long hair and cut it, and then look better. It just has to fit their facial features and maybe even their figure. So if a woman has the face and figure for the shorter hair pleas elet it grow long! lol
OK, I'm not a woman, but I tend to like my hair longer. Kind of like the Glenn Campbell 70's look. Not quite that long, but I do let it grow long enough till it agrvates me because I can't style it the way I ant it. So I'd go get a haircut. I've had friends tell me that I look younger with the shorter hair. Might be true for osme women too. As much as I like the longer hair, it's no big issue ladies. It's all of you that I would find attractive or not.

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/24/2008 6:24:36 PM | My hair is almost down to my waist ... I like the way it feels on my bare shoulders. I especially like to feel it blow in the breeze and lay across my back and shoulders.
Most men I know like the long hair. So I guess until I get too old and decrepit to take care of it (which is really quite easy) ... I'm keeping my long hair.
I was thinking about donating it to Locks of Love ... my pony tail is so long that I could donate two 8" pony tails to them and still have plenty of hair to look nice. My hair grows so fast that it would only take a couple of years to get it back down to the middle of my back.

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/24/2008 6:31:37 PM | Not every woman looks good in long hair, this includes all ages. It is all up to the individual. It can be aging to some people, especially if they had very dark hair when they were young and still have it at 40 plus. The secret is to go lighter when older, not darker as it accentuates wrinkles. Others can carry it off and I have seen some fabulously long silver hair. I pondered cutting my own shoulder length hair recently and received a few scoldings from friends, both male and female. It is not how long you wear your hair, it is how you wear your hair long. | |

| Long hair on older women Posted: 6/24/2008 6:51:09 PM | My hair isn't that long, but it's long enough for me to pull it back in hot weather or just wear it as it is. Like others, I used to have a short cut and I looked awful! My face is round, stuck on top of a long neck, and when my hair was short I looked like a lollipop! Longer, wavy hair really helps my face look a bit more angular and I love it.
I am also a Leo, and I figure Leos like to have manes of hair! As I get older, I will watch it and make sure my hair is updated accordingly -- mainly so it doesn't look too dated. Women who have the faces to wear really cute, short, spiky hairstyles have my admiration, and many look good with shorter hair. Really, it all comes down to the type of style that is best for you regardless of age!
