I was going to hire a PI to confirm my suspicions of my "then" husband of cheating, but decided to do the investigating myself. I suspected it was with someone I knew. Sure enough, my best friend. So, I confronted her, she confirmed it but he, unfortunately, denied it for a long time. It wasn't until I told him I was leaving him he finally admitted the adultery! Weird! Why not just be honest from the get-go! Sometimes depending on the situation you may have to hire someone, but if you have known the person long enough then you will know in your gut & heart. You don't need to pay money to someone to tell you! | |

For all the folks out there who say "they would do it themselves and boot the cheating spouse out" I have to say wake up and look at the legal system. It aint that easy. Now if you two aren't married...yep walk away with your stuff. If your married and have assets, children and business dealings together.....go ahead...do it yourself....kick them out then wait on his or her attorney to call you and tell you how your going to be living the rest of your life.
I saw a couple of comments about "sleazy P.I.'s" too and I am sure they are out there and I know a few but it truly is a professional business and those shows that you see on TV are just so much BS.
And yes, I am a PI...I have been one for over 22 years ......so I do have just a bit of insight. | |

There are 20-30 different ways people can find out if someone is cheating on them or not.
I'd rather want to put my money into saving my relationship ( if that is possible ) rather than paying someone to tell me and show me my wife/gf cheating on me.

BTW my uncle is a PI also and he hates it, been in the field for almost 30 years and while he hates it, he makes a great living off it as more and more these days there is so much trust lacking in couples.

Posted: 12/26/2006 11:25:59 AM | Ya missed my point. I am not trying to convince anyone they need a PI just because they're suspicious. But if you have assets.....and you just wait around on the spouse to leave you for another .....your stuck with out some legal proof.
I myself am not wild about some of the people I have worked for in the past either and have seen a lot of heart breaking situations but I have helped a lot of people too. I have found missing relatives, kept innocent people out of prison and saved "ex husbands and ex wives" thousands of dollars in expenses they could have lost with out properly obtained evidence. So yea, it would be great if no body ever cheated.....I would love to give up domestics and concentrait on fraudulent insurance investigations but just look around on this board.....PI's are gonna be around for a long time. | |
