| Anyone from East Texas area? Posted: 7/26/2006 2:05:06 PM | Speaking of being dry...Nmbrs, how do you like the idea of wet and dry out there? I must say it makes so much more sense than it does here!!
For those of you who don't know about what I'm talking, in Georgia, "wet" means you can buy any alcoholic beverages and "dry" means you can buy beer and wine only. Crazy, huh? Yeah, my church has a youth center that has a store right behind it where you can get beer and wine.

| Anyone from East Texas area? Posted: 7/26/2006 4:28:52 PM | | Yeah, that took some getting used to for me - I'm in a "dry" county here, but if you show a Texas d/l or get a Unicard (what is that? some sort of cult or something?), you can order a beer in a bar. Somebody's got to be making some money off that one...lol... | |

| Anyone from East Texas area? Posted: 7/26/2006 7:06:14 PM | | Hey, only part of your area is dry...go down a little ways to Big Sandy and it's wet....it gets REALLY confusing!! I could get you in contact with my ex; he knows all the wet places by heart...wouldn't want to tarnish the reputation of a good ole Georgia boy like that though!! | |

| Anyone from East Texas area? Posted: 8/16/2006 3:43:13 PM | Well, Charlie and Longview, All I can say is that maybe some of the women are like me...I'm totally new to the online dating scene, didn't get involved with it until January of this year. I have a friend who met her husband online, and their first child was born today, so I know it can work. I've just been one of those old fashioned ones that did things the hard way.
If I were still in Texas, I might give you guys a chance...I'd get to know you at least!

| Anyone from East Texas area? Posted: 8/30/2006 1:02:04 PM | | I am from Florida and Texas and have lived in many cities and states. ( Las Vegas, Reno, Houston, Miami, New York City, Austin, San Antonio, Denver, St. Petersburg, Ft Lauderdale, Galveston, Ft Myers.....) I lived in Henderson back in 1979 and I could't stand it, except for the Holiday Inn bar. I have ended up in GILMER not by choice but by the circumstances that currently are happening in my life. If you were not born and raised here, anywhere in this area, you are not welcomed nor does anyone pay you any mind. This is by far the rudest and most unhappiest people I have ever been around and I have been in a lot of places. I give up saying hello to anyone months ago. Never get a reply back. Its like some sort of some backwoods mentality here period. And believe me its all these people know or want to know. Both my son and I cannot wait to see this place in the rearview mirror. I know there are good people out there somewhere, but I have yet to meet one. | |

| Anyone from East Texas area? Posted: 8/30/2006 1:22:38 PM | I am from East Texas...grew up in Lufkin and the surrounding areas. I went to Hudson, Central, Groveton, Woden, and several of the Lufking elementaries...(coston, herty, garrett) and a few months at Lufkin High. I graduated at Central...GO BULLDOGS. Joined the Navy in 88, but I go back to visit when I can, my folks live in Nacogdoches now. I even made it to a Homecoming game a few years ago...wore my letterman jacket and all.

Might get to go again during spring break though! I took a friend from home there once before I moved, and she was just in awe...and we didn't get much of it seen! My mom and sisters love it, too! It's a long road trip just to go there, though! Have to plan it when I can stay and visit as well!
