| video games Posted: 12/11/2006 7:11:13 AM | | I just think u have to watch out for those weirdos that play the world of warcraft and online games. I have seen so many relationships end over a game, its sad! | |

| video games Posted: 12/11/2006 7:36:47 AM | Well! Its certainly an addictive thing apparently... Part of the reason I left my wife was because she spent 16 hours a day playing Final Fantasy XI, choosing it over me and my daughter. Our house was trashed and smelled of rotting things, had unwashed clothes, no food to eat because her responsibilities came second over her addiction.
I agree w/ all the people who say don't confront him about it. Whenever I started talking to her while she was on the game it only ended up in a 2 or 3 hour fight.
My advice. Seek counseling or something and hope he's not too far gone. Or try to play with him and then try to get him interested in the stuff you do.

| video games Posted: 12/11/2006 7:44:32 AM | I love playing video games... I was really bad with The Sims Online, but I was a beta tester for that one and when it hit the shelves and non-testers started playing it it got REALLY REALLY fun... I ended up with 4 accounts and a virtual legacy - Then just like that... I got bored. I tried going back this year... and I did for a while, but I dunno just can't get into it now. I also can't justify paying 40 bucks a month on all those accounts when I'm not playing.
Now... video games isn't really a bad thing. I have played some REALLY GREAT games. BUT I usually end up dating gamers anyways. Who I play against, as a team, and I don't need to wear a gnome suit... nude is fine too
Really what I'm getting at is... if you don't share the same interests then I can see where your bf spending a lot of time in front of video games would annoy you... try to find a man that doesn't have interests that you don't like.
As for me... I'm going to go play with my boyfriends Wii... Zelda and the Zoras are waiting!!! WOOT!!!

| video games Posted: 12/11/2006 11:48:27 AM | No game would take me away from my love.
But it would be nice to share the gaming experience with her.
|
| video games Posted: 12/11/2006 12:09:07 PM | | I still play WoW. I scaled it way back though... and yep, if you let it, it will run your life. | |

I played WoW with a guy and his Mom (his freakin MOM!) was playing with him on another computer and she was kicking a lot of ass in that game! She was like 62 years old and she plays. lol
About a year ago, my oldest son wanted to become a paid member on Runescape. I didn't know enough about it, the game, the chat function, the other players. So I put the kids to bed, registered a user name, logged in and started playing.
I.didn't.sleep.at.all.that.night.
It was the end of my marriage (not at all related, he was living elsewhere at the time). But it was a low, vulnerable point. I played a lot.
The good news is that I was able to level quickly, get money and share good stuff and give decent jobs to my kids and daycare kids who play. Over the summer, we'd go to the library so we could all play at the same time.
I played too much for a while. Today I play less than an our a day, often skipping days.
But I'm a hot level 94. And I love how the rune removes all traces of pregnancy and childbirth.
So, yea, a freaking mom can kiss ass.

| video games Posted: 12/16/2006 9:50:44 AM | Gaming is fun for lots of people. It is also an addiction for some. In my opinion, there has to be a balance. You can't spend ALL of your time in an imaginary land. That just sucks.
A relationship is give and take too. He has to give you the time you want and you have to give him the time he wants too. If the 2 don't work, then it might be time to move on.
I take it that you don't like gaming? If you aren't opposed to that, you might try playing with him. I know a couple that loves to game together and I think that it makes their relationship stronger. They both like it and the get to spend time together. Dig?

| video games Posted: 12/16/2006 12:02:13 PM | I'm wanting to play WoW again, but can't recall my password and username because I no longer have the same e-mail address!
They finally changed the pvp reward system to my liking.
On either youtube or google, there's video of some dude getting busted jacking off to a Night Elf while playing WoW. If you ever feel like a loser, this should make you feel better about yourself in a matter of seconds. I play ugly human males, and glad now.
|
| video games Posted: 12/16/2006 12:21:54 PM | | Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only person left on the planet who doesn't play video games. They've become a valid addiction for a lot of people. | |
|
| video games Posted: 12/16/2006 12:27:27 PM | I both laughed and got sad after reading this post, as I have had TWO instances where WoW was chosen over a woman
I was phoning a guy at 10:30 to "hang out" and he said he couldn't leave the game
And my friend started to giver her boyfried a blowjob...and he finally was like
"ugh k fine I'll break for FIVE minutes"
seriously, sad. | |

| video games Posted: 12/16/2006 2:04:56 PM | | I play World of Warcraft; however I would never ever ever put the game before my girl. That’s just stupid. I have a friend that does this and I just dont get it. The game is fun yes but not as fun and spending time with someone I care about. Any guy that puts the game first needs to go to everquest anonymous. | |
|
| video games Posted: 12/16/2006 2:25:50 PM | Yeah, the reason I play video games is because I don't have a woman. If I did, I can't imagine wanting to play a game over her. But I can't imagine always being and doing something with her either. All it takes is some time management.
Something worth mentioning is, some women who cry about their guys in this fashion are asking too much of the guy. Because the dude doesn't give up what he's doing 100 percent of the time, at moments notice, the woman makes it out to be as if he is picking whatever he is doing over her. It's a crisis of perception hinged upon the "me me me" syndrome.
WoW fans check out the South Park episode called, "Make Love not Warcraft". Run a search in google or whatever and it should come up. It's great. Non fans might like too.

| video games Posted: 12/16/2006 2:29:20 PM | | Because video games like DOOM, QUAKE, HALF LIFE or Star Trek, or any fantasy game, has a much better chance of being closer to reality than many of the women you meet out there today. | |
|
| video games Posted: 12/16/2006 2:36:26 PM | | Heh, i play games to escape reality. | |
|
| video games Posted: 12/16/2006 3:23:54 PM | | Sadly some people can't seem to tell which is which anymore. | |
|
| video games Posted: 12/16/2006 6:04:43 PM | | he's obviously not that interested if he chose the game over you. | |
|
| video games Posted: 12/18/2006 6:06:25 AM | Video games would likely not take precedence over a woman, and I love video games.
TV shows would likely come first due to the limited timeframe on them, and there are some shows that I refuse to miss, and I will not get disrupted during.
However, if we just spent like 5 hours together, then I'd probably go with the video games. If she likes video games, all the better: both of you win - you get to spend time together and play video games.

I just think u have to watch out for those weirdos that play the world of warcraft and online games. I have seen so many relationships end over a game, its sad!
Relationship nothing!
I remember being in college and watching some girl I knew crashing on the floor next to her b-friend at the time while he was playing Everquest.
I also remember people missing class and flunking out. There was also the personal hygiene issue.
I also remember people asking to use my college user name and password so they could get online in the computer labs.
I knew a guy who wouldn't show up to his jobs and kept losing them.
I tried playing once...but a stupid rat kept killing my little wizard character. I suck at video games so maybe that's why I never got hooked. I don't own anything for video games. When I do play, I like playing with lots of people in the same room...something simple with shooting (HALO). I usually play the decoy...
At least that way I can swap in and out with people and visit.
Internet forums on the other hand...that's my weakness

Haha...Yea that sentence pretty much almost describes me. Fortunately, it was only a one semester thing, but it's the semester that all my friends remember. And who can forget when you do so bad that your GPA isn't even above a 1.0, or when you stay up 67 hours straight.
Ahh...those were the days.
|
| video games Posted: 12/18/2006 4:55:27 PM | | Because Warcraft is like hours upon hours of strategy and fun. It is quite possible that this girlfriend is simply not as fun as warcraft. OR the guy has a fetish for Palladin's or Gryphon Riders or something. I don't know. Really...Warcraft is great. You should probably watch Mallrats as Brody...I think his name was Brody...whatevs...whoever Jason Lee played...he was engulfed in a game of SNES hockey, which seemed to be the final straw for Shannon Dorherty's character. | |
|
| video games Posted: 12/18/2006 5:57:18 PM | umm. it's world of warcraft?
personally not attracted to the game, but you have to pay every month to play it, so it's a financial consideration? lol jk.
it _IS_ fun. Perhaps first poster should try making a character and getting involved in the game. It's geared towards casual/beginning gamers as well as the hardcores and the like.
seriously, I know women who play it regularly and they swear by it.
|
| video games Posted: 12/19/2006 4:35:35 PM | Have you seen some of the games nowadays? They're totally wicked...like...you know!
Actually, seriously, some of the games today are pretty good. That and they don't nag.
|
| video games Posted: 12/19/2006 4:49:44 PM | | For some guys, video games are a very fun hobby for them. If they feel that you are taking up too much of their time over this hobby, then they will leave you. | |
