It would cost a arm and a leg to send everyone flowers. Plus when you know someone in the forums is down you can send them some to pick up their spirts. It don't have to be just because you think of them as a future mate. In the health section so many get sick.

I am just going to throw this out there and see what sticks....
Have you tested this to make sure flower shops won't give out address or personal information?
Lets say some sicko sends flowers to someone he/she wants to get involved with...what happens if he/she calls the flower shop and says he/she purchased flowers and wants them to confirm the delivery address...now this scares me...I've already had one stalker from POF and don't need another....lol I would add an option where the receiver can chose to pick up the flowers themselves without giving out personal information. Shouldn't be that hard, instead of giving there personal information for delivery they give a code or something for p/u.
I really like your idea but make sure it is safe. K
Better yet don't let the sender know what flower shop is sending...of course it might come up on their credit card statement later....
tell oh wise one...I'm sure you have this figured out and I am wasting time asking all of this...lol

| Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers. Posted: 10/12/2006 7:28:27 PM | | Personally I dont think sending flowers to anyone your interested in on POF is a good thing. Sending flowers, especially roses, is a powerful message to a girl. The message is as loud as a 50 Ft billboard on the highway --- and in that same vein I dont think any woman does not like the idea of receiving flowers but it highly depends on who is sending them. When you are first getting to know a woman giving gifts, flowers, etc is not a good idea at all... maybe after a couple of dates. The point is that she should do something WORTHWHILE that makes her deserving of the gift.... her just being attractive just doesnt cut it and again receiving flowers from a total stranger is just going to blow up her ego, and not put you in any advantageous position with respect to dating her. Thats if, and only if, she already likes you. | |

| Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers. Posted: 10/12/2006 7:29:04 PM | I think it's cute and neat... and DEFINITELY creative!!!!!!
Question though......
What if the receiver chooses not to accept? When it prompts for your address information etc... is there an option to accept/not accept? And can the purchase automatically be reversed and credit the account/credit card?
|
| JUST FOR YOU Posted: 10/12/2006 7:29:11 PM | What would happen if someone changed their user name on POF ?
In between details being entered or deleted themselves from the site?
What happens if someone wants to send them to the U.K. from over the pond?
Why are we not getting this facility over here in the U.K.
It's like being in Scotland - everything gets road tested up there before down here in England..
Or are you going to do a few international flowers sending test run's first
If so... when do I expect mine from you Markus
Good idea for this service BUT can I ask when are you adding Thornton's chocolate's to the list?
I love them - as a special treat from friends and family
P.S. The coffee flavoured ones and dark chocolates are yukky if anyone is buying for me haha..

Even though men can receive flowers too, I am getting a funny feeling that the expectations of women have just been raised (again?). Can the woman upload a picture of themselves with the flowers then? Wondering now, who should I be sending flowers too?
Since I am hearing that many men’s profiles have pictures of cars or motorcycles, maybe the women should have an option of giving automobiles. The men can then upload a new picture of themselves with their new car.
Thanks again Admin

OK, so here me out. You get an email from someone you really are not interested in communicating with at all. Sorry, not interested. Then he sends you flowers? Are you obligated to respond? Is there an expectation from the man you would because he has now spent money on "you"?
I'm sending you a boquet of yellow daphodils in the pink dolphin vase and you are going to take them! Then you're going to keep them on the table and swoon, forgetting my lame letters when you smell them. Ah! better than bacon. If you thank me nicely I'll consider a collection of orchids in something much like crystal. Accepting flowers is a compliment to you. It doesn't oblige you at all.

| Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers. Posted: 10/12/2006 8:10:49 PM | Ok, so when do the guys get something cool? Don't get me wrong, I've gotten orchids before. Flowers are nice and all, but something like beer and pizza delivery might be more appropriate. | |

| Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers. Posted: 10/12/2006 8:11:12 PM | I think it's kinda sweet actually , and a cool way to maybe break the ice in a more personal way than just a message , I'd send flowers to a guy , if I knew he'd like them. I wanna hear all the schmoopy posts from the women on 10004382 favourites lists who get few dozen a day.... gotta live vicariously right? ohhh the allergy thing, didn't think of that , but hey they can pop a few antihistamines for awhile right? | |

Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers.
I give it 1 week before the first " I send girls flowers here and they keep rejecting me." thread to pop up
Nice Idea, it'll probably benefit some people. Maybe limit it to people on each other's fav lists till you see how it goes...JMO

Again good idea, but might need some adjustments to prevent those nasty flower rejection moments. Maybe a credit from the flower shop for the next lady on the list...JMO

| Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers. Posted: 10/12/2006 8:57:03 PM | oh no you didn't!
He could use a nice arrangement of daylillies, maybe accented with a few tulips to cheer him up. Can you send anyone a black orchid?
I still think that sending flowers is just fine.

| Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers. Posted: 10/12/2006 9:10:48 PM | | I think it is a great idea and a really nice high tech twist on chivalry. Let's see if it works. I would like to see some postings from people who have received flowers. Ahhh....romance!!! | |
|

| Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers. Posted: 10/12/2006 10:33:39 PM | Nice touch Admin! I love this site! Can't wait to see how it works out..... Even though I am only here for the forums, I think it's a unique idea for a dating site! There are certainly more reasons than romance to send flowers(as stated by other posters).....Can't wait to see what kind of threads the flowers option generates in the forums | |

| Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers. Posted: 10/12/2006 10:52:35 PM | Wow! What a lovely idea! Everyone loves flowers..and men, don't think it is a corney idea. I used to buy myself flowers at the farmers market. They smell good and brighten up any room. | |
|
| Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers. Posted: 10/12/2006 11:58:05 PM | This is very smart from a business standpoint, and a customer service standpoint, too. Instead of making a note to send someone flowers, making a note on your list of to do...or navigating somewhere else... This makes it very easy.
Personally, I think they could team up with Wine.com, and a gift basket co...as well.
I know a few I'd like to send a nice bottle of wine to once in a while.
Amazon marketplace will be next. I love surprising friends with a cd or book...the possibilities are endless...

| Plentyoffish, Now with Flowers. Posted: 10/13/2006 12:01:47 AM | This is an amazing concept. I was wondering how this site made money and as a man who works in marketing and sales it makes perfect sense , You take a few hundred thousand lonely men who are looking for women who want to make a good impression on a few hundred thousand lonely women and you offer a push with flowers and you make fortune selling flowers. I wish I'd thought of it. I love this place. It's a gold mine . you have to respect it . you just have to love that. where do I buy stock in this no really!!!!!where do I buy into this !!!!!! | |
