"the two biggest clubs in the world don't have shite players"

well what do you mean by the two biggest clubs...? Man United and Barca? what a joke! before mentioning those good clubs, you should name great teams like Real Madrid, Milan, Liverpool, Bayer Munich, Juventus..... teams a lot bigger and better than the scum of Barca and those silly Red Devils, devils who would not scare a child in the middle of the night

Real Madrid: 30 Spanish leagues, 17 King's Cups or FA Cup, 9 European Cups or now called Champions league, 3 Intercontinental Cups...........
Milan: 7 Champions League,
Liverpool: 5 Champions League.
Bayer Munich: 4 Champions lague.

and Barca: 2 Champions League.
Man United: 2 or 3 Champions league.

as for Raul being overrated, well he has won 3 Champions League (1996, 2000 and 2002), would you please name any other footballer out of Real Madrid with the same titles? please name just one.

as for Messi, he is too young, so we agree on this

as for Cantona, i would never mention him, an idiot on a pitch!

as for Zidane, everyone knows what he did during the final, but to be fair he has been the greatest player in modern age (remember the goal at Hampden Park during the European Cup final, what a majestic, perfect and beautiful goal). and do not forget that lots of football authorities also stated that he has been the greatest in the last years.

by the way, i never said Larsson was shite, what i said and will say he is just a good or ordinary player who fills a club and later disappears, no more! and no-one will remember his name.

i will remember his name, thats all that matters.

they are the two biggest clubs on the planet right now, whether people like to admit it or not, they are the biggest.

cantona was good, to be fair, but will always be remebered for the kick at the fan, firstly his football second.

liverpool. they havent done anything since they won the champions league and they havent done anything before it either. they dont qualify, great teams win their domestic titles, liverpool are happy to play for a champions league spot.

bayern munich, have faded away from what they once were

milan, no complaint with them, i do like to watch them in the champions league.

i dont actually know a whole lot about real madrid, i would only know robinho and raul, so i cant really answer that.

here is the top11 football players of all times:

FIFA (World Cups only:)
1. Pelé (Brazil)
It's hard to put anyone else than Pelé on the top position. Especially after looking at his track record in World Cups. He is the only man to win it 3 times and is among the all-time topscorers. A virtually complete footballer with an impressive strength in the air despite being relatively small. He scored more than 1000 goals in his career.
2. Diego Maradona (Argentina)
Definitely the best dribbler the world has ever seen. World Cup winner 1986, runner-up in 1990. As all-round footballer he is not overshadowed by anyone. Not even Pelé, but the Brazilian's honours in the tournament puts him slightly in front.
3. Franz Beckenbauer (West Germany)
The dominant player in the German defence for 10 years. He won gold, silver and bronze in his three World Cups 1966, 1970 and 1974. Ranks as the best defender in soccer history. A born leader on and off the field, which also saw him successful as manager for the German team when he won in 1990.
4. Garrincha (Brazil)
Known as "The Little Bird", Garrincha was a dominant figure in Brazil's first two World Cup winning teams 1958 and 1962. Played as a winger and wrongfooted lots of defenders in the 50s and 60s. Pelé said he would never have won 3 cups without Garrincha in the team.
5. Gerd Müller (West Germany)
The most remarkable goals-per-game marksman in soccer history at international level (62 games/68 goals). Müller is all time topscorer in World Cups with 14 goals and won the tournament on home soil in 1974, four years after being topscorer and bronzemedalist in Mexico.
6. Johann Cruyff (Holland)
He played only in one WC, but was the leader and captain for Holland's team in 1974. Holland's Total-Football almost achived the ultimate prize by winning the cup. Cruyff was their best player.
7. Ferenc Puskas (Hungary)
Nicknamed "The galloping major", Puskas was captaining the Hungarian sides that went unbeaten for about four years. The sequence stopped unfortunately in the final of 1954.
8. Michel Platini (France)
The captain and inspirational leader for the great French teams of the 1980s. Platini was unfortunate not to play a World Cup final having lost in two semifinals, but he was a gifted and talented player.
9. Jairzinho (Brazil)
One of the best wingers of all time, Jairzinho was a constant threat for any full back. He scored lots of goals as well and scored in every game when Brazil won the cup in 1970.
10. Giuseppe Meazza (Italy)
Twice World Cup winner in 1934 and 1938, Meazza was Italy's best player. He was captain for the 1938 team. The stadium in Milan has been named after him.

France-Football :
1. Edson Arantes do Nascimento "PELÉ" (Brazil) 122 pts (17 - 5 - 4 - 2 - 1)
2. Diego MARADONA (Argentina) 65 ( 3 - 6 - 5 - 5 - 1)
3. Johan CRUYFF (Netherlands) 62 ( 1 - 4 - 7 - 9 - 2)
4. Alfredo DI STEFANO (Argentina/Spain) 44 ( 4 - 3 - 3 - 1 - 1)
5. Michel PLATINI (France) 40 ( 1 - 5 - 1 - 3 - 6)
6. Franz BECKENBAUER (Germany) 35 ( 2 - 1 - 3 - 3 - 6)
7. Ferenc PUSKAS (Hungary) 12 ( 0 - 3 - 0 - 0 - 0)
8. Marco VAN BASTEN (Netherlands) 11 ( 0 - 0 - 3 - 1 - 0)
9. Artur Antunes Coimbra "ZICO" (Brazil) 7 ( 1 - 0 - 0 - 1 - 0)
10. Gerd MÜLLER (Germany) 5 ( 1 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0)

The Guerin' Sportivo (Italy):
1.Pelé
2.Diego Armando Maradona "Splendori e cadute del Pibe de Oro"
3.Alfredo Di Stefano "La freccia bionda"
4.Johan Cruijff "Il campione della nuova frontiera"

Went to the USA-Mexico match here in Houston on Wednesday evening. Nice to see 70 thousand screaming fans at a match on American soil. Would have been unheard of 10 years ago. The more players we have playing on European soil the better our National team is becoming. That said, I realize we have a ways to go.

Who is the USA coach now?

Our new coach is Bob Bradley, He was an assistant under Bruce Arena. .His son is actually an attacking midfielder om the team. I agree..Our last WC appearance was less than stellar..LOL 2010 should be a better showing.

talking about national teams, i always have said that USA is a world champion to be, sure! it is a matter of time and logic.

a large country like the US with millions of children and teenagers now playing football, will have plenty of great players in the near future (right now there are very good players).

as a football fan, i remember a player called Wynalda, what a great forward he was!

on the other hand, i can not say the same about MLS or any other league within the US. with NFL, MLB and NBA it is quite difficult to get a place, above all in some american deep-rooted places like Nebraska, Texas, Kansas, etc

under my opinion the future of MLS is black as we say in Spain, unless it gets support from TV, goverment, etc

..................i heard that the majority of fans in the stands were Mexicans and they were all cheering against the Yanks!..........if so then it doesn't bode too well for true US fan support...does it?.......but then again it was a meaningless game!

Our new coach is Bob Bradley, He was an assistant under Bruce Arena. .His son is actually an attacking midfielder om the team. .

.........from what i hear, bradley's son is truly a good player who is actually being respected by alot of europeans

talking about national teams, i always have said that USA is a world champion to be, sure! it is a matter of time and logic.

.........yes, if you can wait approximately 40-60 more years!......there are many other countries in the world that have stronger soccer (futball) traditions than the USA that have not even come close to winning the WC!........Spain is one of them!......it is not easy to win a WC title.......talent alone is not enough, it takes discipline, focus, intensity and a system of play that works!!!!

a large country like the US with millions of children and teenagers now playing football, will have plenty of great players in the near future (right now there are very good players).

.......of course there are better caliber of players now than there was 25 years ago, but the process is slow........yes, there is talent but the problem is in development of this talent..........the under-17 teams of the USA are almost as good as the teams from europe and s. america, but after you reach the under-21, it is no longer the case....we do not have high level competition here as you have in europe to develop players on a higher level!

as a football fan, i remember a player called Wynalda, what a great forward he was!

.........wynalda had 'great' potential!........if he would have played in europe as a child or teenager, he would have developed into a much better player.

under my opinion the future of MLS is black as we say in Spain, unless it gets support from TV, goverment, etc

........the MLS is actually expanding to 2 new cities......it is slowly growing, but i don't know if they are making money yet.........the real way to get support from advertisement is to "americanize" the sport(in the USA), at least a little bit!.......you need to have brief interruptions, and you need to have better officiating and instant replay.......but nobody in the MLS listens to logic!

For me the greatest player ever, in terms of footballing ability, was George Best. The man was class. His biggest downfall was himself, if that wouldn't have happened, he would have been. Also what didn't help was that he didn't play in a world cup. But for me, definitely the best, technically.

I've seen some talented players over my years of being a fan. Some that stand out because of skill have to include Pele, Maradona, Zico, Socrates, Eder, Platini, Beckenbaur, Roberto Baggio, Del Piero, Maldini, Van Basten, Gullit, Zidane and George Best. But hands down, based on his sublime talent, the best is Eric Cantona. He is the player that turned Manchester United into the club they are today. Okay, Sir Alex helped a little too.

Oh I'm sorry, I thought this was based on skill. Based on just that, Cantona is every bit as good as Zidane. Lest we forget that Zidane was no saint.

Zidane is the best footballer who has appeared in the last 10 or 15 years. he will be remembered as one of the greatest in history.

so please do not insult the world of football including Cantona amongst those great names you mentioned before

no-one will remember Cantona save for some English persons.
