in blackness garden be found
my world be cast upside down
cherubs speared by daffodil flowers
hearts bleeding more by the hour
butterfly wings with inferno blaze
dripping wax on golden maze
morning doves drowning in tar filled ponds
bronze lillies chocking midnight swans
hour glass flowing upward bound
meadow lark song now deathly sound
leaves of blue in fairy tale books
statues gaze with fightened looks
crocus blooms washed in blood
vines chocked silent by trodden hoof
paths of liquid acrid trails
morning glories cry and wail
fountains flow with petal cries
blackeyed susies with bloodshot eyes
a midnight walk through eden lost
one simple taste but at what cost

……………Tired eyed
Dreary
……………Hell-bound
And prideful…

…F*** SATAN!!!

Now let the lamb’s blood
Cleanse the rising Ephod!

Shall I retreat?

…From Jehovah’s war?
The Father of all madness!
…How many times can the spirit die/
Driven and rived towards perdition?

Hear the melodious shrills!
…Purgatory born!
Sentenced to the Karnac Woods...
…Drinking from the underworld Lethe…

But still I remember

The Laodiceans carving tunnels through my vision!

…Find you something to die for!
Amble with me upon this travel
…This Kon Tiki Expedition…
Where even the Hyenas are preyed upon!

Awoke in Hyrcania I did
Where wild beast converse calmly
Negotiating the removal of thy soul…
……..Whence appeareth Jacob’s ladder!

I climb!

……………Tired eyed
Dreary
……………Hell-bound
And prideful…

…F*** SATAN!!!

Tribulations come upon our door
had we not answered,
would we stay as before?
Doubting this,
for in life tis enevitable
as breathing.......
they come
may they enlighten
bring courage forth
bear them patiently
for all to see
This storm that has risen up
dark, callous , glooming
shall quickly subside
finding us bathed in sunlight
Souls are soothed
refurbished
by the returning grace
Again finding peace
tranquility of mind

Dark abstract,
Blood stains,
Running fast,
Flooded corridors,
Screaming classrooms,
Writhing bodies,
Motionless,
Images of,
the horror,
The evil,
that stalked,
within,
A college,
now over,
let the healing ,
begin!

Jules…in truth…you are a precious soul…a natural comforter.

Mandrake48…I’ve been thinking on this since it happened.
I have no idea of how to feel. I couldn’t imagine how parents connected to this are now feeling.

Death

As if a scorpion from hell has awoken

Innocence snatched

Another tradgedy strikes........Prayers to all , within its path

One lost soul
harbouring hate, within
loss of so many
innocent lives , we grieve!
Stonger now, also believe
this Soul now at peace
but leaving a message
Sent to many
ungracious as it is
Listen closely
lost souls do beg
for help, or love
Listening is so simple
another slipped through
our fingers
May we all be more aware
for lost souls in need
of our prayers!

streched flat bridging the blades of fresh cut grass
that gently cushions my form
watching in awe as the sky above dances in her graceful ballet
colours flowing like liquid paint
dancing ever changing
they mesmirize my soul
I am lost here
as I slip into this world of blue and orange
nightsky delight
sun setting fast
the world slowly drifting above
the colours of the sky
making sweet passionate love in the clouds
all mixing as one with myself

We used to know this:
every opening is a door
for ghosts. Even a yawn's
not innocent. A wound
breaks the body's gates
open. What enters?
Weather wisdom. Phantom
voices. Sadness. Gentleness.
The smell of apples.

Why do they say a leg
is lost? We know
what happened.

A ship burial:
the splash, the kiss
of salt, the pale light
going slowly out,
the weighted canvas
blossoming open, amputated
legs and hands rocking free —

soft green lights
in the deep
and changing sea.

The beauty of the world
is a moon's beauty: shifting,
breathless, mirrored, a beauty
of contradiction. Listen:
we are tender because the light
is spilling out of October,
a low sweep across the cut
and ragged fields, the bales.
Death is a great planet.
Tidal, we turn our faces to it.

a still noon
frost hung in banners
and bells

that step and fade
down each
level crossing

crow-calls of rails
in the switch yard
clank and moan

and the long shudder of cars
coming together --
a train building itself

and me, walking home
with my hat off
just to listen

Lord, you wither me

My body scorched
like August grass
My mind less

even than that --
like a shadow on the hills
like one cloud passing

And where can I turn

Endless Lord, you wear the ocean
as a scarf
the wind as a ribbon
in your hair

The earth wears out
and you change it like an apron
like a quilt you shake
the patchwork stars

Endless, my days
are short -- Do not
cut them

My God of silks and scraps
of ticking and velvet
let me lean at your knees
as you hum over piecework

My God of the ragbag
with a needle in your mouth --

Cradle.

I learned darkness by the pages turned...
I knew of treason and the ..ever.. slide by the movement of Cain...
Slow walk; all of time and a cry spilled to Heaven's gate..
Released by the Thunder of a final glimpse....

Fall.

Eden is nevermore than a slip of reason...
There if only seek upon it's fruit...
There if gathered strength outweighs thy hunger....
Stomp the fire and learn to dance of it's tune........

Enoch whisper and a cold realization..
The mountains speak of hold by Mortal clench....
Fingers splay the verses and are caught of the web...
Belittle thy hope yet kindle forth thy Eternal flame.........

Join upon thy guild and know thee of a placid dream...
By fear there is nothing but the cold and blank jaws of an endless sleep....
Give unto thine Mother...
That you be one by the encompassing single Spirit...
Great and known upon those that possess thy Eyes...

Gift is thy smell begone of thy beaten path..
Know thee of thy Rose...
For therein....
Is your single glimpse...

Of Perfection.

piety betrialed in twisted petal essence
seas of pink and rosen hue
budding tips of necter glory
reaching for the hand of God
futility in mere passing

guilded sunlight washing sweet caress
moistened my lightbirth dew
coalessing in diamond droplets mirrored facet
on envious page of forest green
delicate balance of light and life

first morning rose of spring
perfumed whore of garden glory
in love with narcissen beauty
painted in seduction lure
guarded by your thorny fury

Strip off the layers of forgiveness
One by one they fall
In a disheveled heap
And you step out into the light
Naked
Pure
Love
Without words
Dying stars
Resurrection
And then
You look into the eyes
Of a very old man
Sitting on the sidewalk
Head bowed
Humble
His eyes glazed over
By so much truth
You wonder
Has he witnessed the birth of stars
In his own soul?

Gainer900, you are most correct. I’m in total awe when I read the many post herein. Every artist here is amazing. I’ve said it in the past, and I’ll say it again, I love this experience…. It’s a tremendous pleasure.

Shadowriter, you have an innate aesthetic rhythm in you that paints the canvas picture perfect. That is truly a most artistic poem. I love the many hues and images therein.

Melvaughn, dear God! The spiritual force operating in these poems are enormous! You have connected with so many frequencies. The whispers beckon you. There are many allusions in thy poems. I love it! I welcome you here to Abstracts…where all is spirit. Feel at home!

TruthIsee, your poems are at once compelling. Your style is that of no other. there’s always a message besprinkled therein. I thank you for complimenting with thy graces the many spirits herein.

Autumn Fantasy, a forceful passion…an urge of currents that depict such beautiful manifestations inscribed in wordings that usher forth. Your poetry has always brought to me peace….You are serenity!

Mysteries of the spirit…………

The spirit
of many souls
Whelmed in the motions of Jehovah…There
Mentally retrogressing through the horrid memories
Of the many purgatories that mourn…
…the whispers…they compel motion
…as deer warn by standing agaze
Gasping for air gripping while pawing at that invisible me…
………………..We are afforest with visions
…ambling through the heart’s jungle of webs
Dangling therein struggling to gain foot…
Moonish forms and variegated twinges force us into the black thought.
…The gravel dight with imagery whereupon I perish alive…
Ironically supplying the “Balm in Gilead…”
…The comforts of Gethsemane before the trod of Judas…
……..aporia it is….
………..wafting me gently to war…
……………………..Spiritual armageddon
…where I witness in vision us all present…
Seagirt in the most rewarding battle…the battle of the gods.

In the dark the faces distend
Emerging unlit monochrome
Shaped with darkness they transpire
Accumulated in profound ambiance
Are they apparitions of spirits lost
Indian guides or celestial beings
Angel sentries sheltering us from transience
Or are they just imaginary consequence
From a minds diluted judgment
In the wake of profound deliberation
Questions buried within the soul
Turmoil as the mind unfolds
Mysteries of the universe
Within intelligent astonishment
Pondering all of life’s intent

Abstract/thoughts out loud

This bitter cup,
wrath and woe...
Master cross bearer gone before me....

"With fear"....
reverence
awe
respect,
I take this cross ....his footsteps to follow

"With trembling"....
anxiety....inspiration.
To contemplate
to consider,
and I ponder,
"the heavens are higher than the earth".....

So to know his will,
he says "wait on me."
This strengthens my heart
and when I pray,
his thoughts
his will,
to learn to listen.....

If Eden were indeed so easy found
as open heart and truthful word expressed
then paradise would echo with mine tread
and words as yours would whisper to lost hearts
and bend the staunchest branches of stout trees
and bring them weeping to their knees
in gentle gratitude..
blessed

But Eden as lost paradise
denied to we mere mortals
left to roam the arid deserts of blind sight
words without sound and lips that move but utter nothingness
...and roses, though resplendent seen
devoid of all dimensions made them lovely
smelling instead of the plastic they wrapped them in

these things define our every day realities

How sweet the pen that guides us to
such places where the scent of what is real
still lies within our grasp

as Edens gate swings wide and poets enter
and breathing the fragile loveliness
still offered there...
eyes light once more with images of wonder
sorely missed

Casheyesblond, I know he hears you. The humility in you is powerfully depicted in this poem. I thank you for placing it here.

*Champrins*… artistically beautiful. The entire poem forces the mind to sit still. The second stanza is alarmingly moving. I thank you for placing this poem here.

Free verse….

Ah!
I
A priestly man
Desecrated the church
I shattered the images
The apostles mourned
I set aflame the isles of holiness
Michael and I warred ravishingly
I disgusted Gabriel
And forced Enoch to assault me
Isaiah has forsook me
Mosses has broken the 10 commandments over my skeleton
While Levi incessantly besprinkles me with the Lamb’s Holy Blood
I am Job full blown but physical
The spirit labyrinth has consumed me
Miriam is my torture
Forcing me outside the camp
Saul
That demonic force
Even he condemns me
But Samuel
Everso merciful
Carrying the hand of God
Touches my anguish
Refurbishing in me St. Paul
Elijah my friend
What hath I committed/
To the flames?

Borderline 5….

Before the yonder light
The plight is heavy
The Chevy is full of smoke
The lady has become the hoax
Yet she is not smiling
Carousing with old Nicholas
Traveling through the twilight zone
Talking to the whole congregation
Receiving answers while alone

Endless Lord, you wear the ocean
as a scarf
the wind as a ribbon
in your hair

mel.....

these words captivated my heart
-------------------------------------------------------------

wind and ribbons
stillness and understanding
frequency of melody, captured in memory
the distant painted heart
the rendered vibration, down the line
the one the clothes hung

dread full of locks
the locked down harmony
the left right somatic indifference
to cultures, yielding planetary results
worthy, unspeakable to the intoned
the brothers, the sisters
the sisters, the brothers
dread full of locks
all about locked down harmony
no melody, no melody

just wind and ribbons
baboons play
just wind and ribbons
