I was born in California and have lived her most of my life, and I have always been independent and did not look for a man to support me. I have seen many men here in California that are gold diggers. I think that it just seems that there are more in California because we are such a populated state, and some areas are known to be upper income, therefore many gold diggers know what area to look in.

Spent the weekend volunteering for kids and met some very special men and women who happen to be from CA..changed my perspective. There are good people everywhere just have to look in the right place. Doesn't mean people are running off into sunset with a soul mate(some have) but it does mean people are out there who truly care about others.

If you changed your attitude about women perhaps you would attract the kind of woman you are looking for.
Women need to eat tofu - it's soy - it helps to regulate hormones. Japanese women eat alot of soy. They have no word for menopause because of soy. Tofu is made from soy beans - simple really.

A lot of people come here from other places, and often they haven't lived here too long. I've wondered if that doesn't tend to make them try too hard to fit in with the local image (as they see it.) I've read a lot of profiles that sound like the author grabbed an L.A. magazine, copied the names of a couple dozen hot restaurants and clubs, and listed them as her favorite hangouts. A shallow, self-centered woman who lets it show is unwittingly doing me a favor--she's letting me know before I've wasted much time on her. Anyway, I think the nice, considerate women are usually prettier.

I recently lived in Missouri for a year. The anecdotal experience I took from that was this; girls in California are more driven towards material gains and their status. Back in Missouri, the girls were much more friendly and relaxed, actually people in general were much more friendly and relaxed, period.

Which is why I am moving to AK or MO ASAP!

Wow....so many gross generalizations! Im Ca born and bred and volunteer in my community, our beaches, my church, am in the Public Health field, have been on missions trips....Im embarrassed to list all my efforts to give back because it appears I am bragging, when I just want to counterbalance your sweeping generalizations.

.... I am NOT ALONE or SO UNIQUE in this....many of the people in my community are CA natives and have hearts for giving back....

Those that live by the ocean, tend to care for it as their own...they tend to be in touch with animals, nature, children, the rhythm of life....and yes, they are California natives..

Also: I've never had botox or plastic surgery
I do NOT dye my hair or get regular mani-pedis (do my own)
I don't touch Tofu on unfermented soy, because of the goitrogens' effect on my body, but for many women, it is helpful, so why do you care if they eat it?? What are they supposed to eat to be "down to earth" in your book.....BURGERS AND BEER???
A diet of Burgers and beer are not friendly to the waistline...you should be happy they don't feast on burgers and beer...most guys prefer fit women, so why complain when they watch their diet you silly rabbits???

From my experience, the most materialistic people, both men and women ANYWHERE, tend to be those who LACK a living, breathing, spiritual WALK...

if you CHOOSE to see all California women as materialistic; you will, no doubt see them as such...Law of SKETOMA.

Case in point: a certain gentleman hates californians so much, that his username is Calioutcast!

You can bet his perspective about CA women, is similarly skewed !!
Dude, instead of telling us what you're NOT, why not tell us what you ARE???

Those of you who are moving because you see all Californians as materialistic, well...
part of me is happy because there'll be more parking spots and space on the freeways...
Just kidding....Blessings to you all!!! Spread some love today to someone!!!!

I've lived in Cali my whole life~so nearly 40 years. 20+ years in NorCal, 3 years in Central Cal, and 15 years in SoCal.....California women can be arrogant gold diggers from north to south, but i would have to say that there are DEFINITELY MORE GOLD DIGGERS in SoCAL!!! Its like a big competition and they're all trying to outdo or keep up with their girlfriends. Very shallow, selfish, and about themselves...did i mention materialistic? Big hint for the guys: try to find one that's a transplant and hasn't lived here in Calif too long! Eventually the crap rubs off on them though, and next thing you know they're getting a boob job or a nose job!

You know, people are people, wherever they live or were born. It has nothing to do with where you live! It has to do with who YOU are and the people you surround yourself with!

No matter where you go there are going to be all SORTS of people of EVERY type! So, just live where you want to live based on the weather, lifestyle, recreation you enjoy and then look around for people who have the qualities you enjoy to fill your life !

Shhhhh!!!!! Joni will you hush girlfriend???!!!

How dare you be so RATIONAL!!!

What she means to say, fellas is:
The women here are shallow, made of plastic, live on plastic, yet looking for cash, diamonds, gold and well, we accept mastercard, visa and american express too, if you beg pretty please, while on your knees....

Also, The weather here is truly overrated!!
Too much congestion and overpopulation...
The cost of living is ridiculous!

So please, if you're thinking of moving OUT of CALIFORNIA, FAR be it from us to talk you out of it!!! Go with that gut and

get thee gone!!!!

If you're thinking of moving here, umm...we're CLOSED, THANKS!

All kidding aside,

They can't understand the concept of people being people, Joni, though your words ring with the sweet light of TRUTH.

I believe it's more convenient for them to see the women out here as shallow, materialistic creatures, simply existing as leeches to prey on poor innocent men....

That way, if they are financially insolvent, or otherwise have any sort of dating baggage, it gives them an OUT...an EXCUSE not to risk getting hurt or rejected.

There's something obviously wrong about a guy (Calioutcast?) who has lived in every part of Cali and yet can't find ONE decent woman after a few decades...
ya think???
Somehow I don't see life changing much for that guy wherever he goes, til he realizes the problem does not surround him...it is most likely HIS ATTITUDE.

I think we all know people who change jobs, move, get divorces, get new friends, yet they always are complaining, at every turn of their life COMPLAIN COMPLAIN COMPLAIN.....its always "SOMEONE ELSE's" fault they aren't happy...

Always feeling like The GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER everywhere else EXCEPT under their own feet...

living a life of DEPRIVATION instead of ABUNDANCE, when ABUNDANCE surrounds them....

I respect men who are responsible enough to OWN their mistakes and errors in life instead of pinning them on others.

Its simply called maturity.....and it is VERY SEXY INDEED!

Peace Everyone....here's a hug if you want one:

PS I meant SCOTOMA in my last post...not SKETOMA....sorry!

:hug

Now ya see, Texcobb, I think you're wrong. I think you men would be smart to look for a California Native. Why? We were born here and we have a sense of self that the transplants do not always have. I don't need to prove anything to anybody and I certainly don't want anyone to support me. I've worked since I was 16, put myself through school (with some help from my widowed mom - thanks mom!!) and have a very high sense of values that doesn't include designer duds or diamonds. I do, however own a BMW. Bought it used, and I love the way it drives.
My priorities: a good education for my son. Truth. Integrity. Living by the beach and enjoying our wonderful weather. Cooking with the fresh produce So Cal is blessed with. Good, lifelong friends and wonderful family. My cat. A great glass of wine (natch!!). A belly laugh with a friend.
I try to stay away from the bimbo element, which I agree is out there. And that is what I suggest to all of you lovely readers. Walk away from the riff raff. If Vogue is their impression of a good read, walk away. It's really easy.
We're out here, honest. Just take the time to look past the glitzy broads with the goofy laughs. (why do they always have goofy laughs??)
Good luck fishing!!

Hmmm....now you've made me rummage through the fading memories of the Latin I learned in High School.

Got the Vulvae part.

1. Sugar Babies
2. Gold Diggers
3. You've got me stumped. I THINK it has something to do with "Hit the road, jerk!"

"Water your own Damn Grass"

It's the same everywhere...... the grass is never greener.

Look, if you think someone is a shallow, gold digger.... she probably is.... TO YOU... something you need to work on.

People are who you think they are. It's no mystery...
