Well, you can't blame them for being gold-diggers...They spent their life savings on those fake boobs and fat lips...Can't hate them for trying to make a return on their investment!!!

| California women: fact or myth? Posted: 10/21/2008 10:10:00 PM | Very true, 867....
But sadly, in the end...the fat Botox lips, the silicone "perfect" boobs, the California bleached blonde hair and the "shake and bake" plastic tans make them all look exactly alike...shallow and essentially just plain boring.
I'm in a minority of men, I freely confess that. But I by far prefer a woman with character, eyes that speak volumes, and one who embraces the life she has led. Does she look "older"? I don't think so...I think she looks interesting and worth knowing! But then I want to know a woman who remembers where she was and what she felt when Armstrong walked on the Moon.

I'm going to take this gem and craft it into a ring.
Then, I'm going to use that ring and get me some meaningless sex.
Hot dog, woo! Yee haw.
Meh.
-I- still think Cali girls act differently. I got the bizarro-world stereotype being out in Missouri as a 'Cali guy'.. It was partly true, as normal and generic as I thought I was.
And I don't mean a deviation from normal and generic in any special way. I mean less cool and great than I saw in the fabulous mirror.
I can't wait to move on out of this state.

| California women: fact or myth? Posted: 10/29/2008 11:43:44 PM | | as everyone has stated..the shallow bimbo,gold-digger bunny type exists. that is the type that is used in advertising SO CA...however people, whoever they really are , learn to camoflague their real selves...to pass unnoticed, as butts of jokesI.E. ref. to Saturday night Live. I have known THAT stereo-type look, as a Christian Scientist, chemist {ex-bikini model},worked her way thru two degrees that way, another model, was a woodsy hermit, concert pianist {secret closet activity}.Modeling supported her daughter, after a divorce.I have advanced degrees, love travel and history, but blonded gym rat... with anyone ,you have to look past the disguise. | |

| California women: fact or myth? Posted: 10/30/2008 7:41:06 AM | | Yah! I'm a proud tofu eater. Brown rice too.I live in NorCal. Love the Cali lifestyle. A huge blend of cultural richness. Golddigger? I never had a guy that didn't have a good job, although I have that pioneer spirit, and can do nicely for myself, thank you very much. You can still pan for gold here, forreals. The real estate here is the true California gold, although it's been said I have a goldmine in my kitchen.I like the California girl look. Most men say it's the ideal woman. Specially the brown boys. I never had collagen or implants, but I don't really need that. Neither has any of my girlfriends. I take care of my self-work out some, but not fanatical. I drink organic milk, and it's NOT stinky. Hardly anyone actually surfs, it's an elite group. And takes lots of practice, plus is fairly dangerous. I have boogie boarded, snorkled & once got stuck in a rip-tide. We love micro-brews & fine wines. The pot is choice, and we're most all gourmets where that is concerned. We don't automatically put gravy on everything. Although we have the best variety of fresh fruits & veggies, most Californians are McDonalds eatin' couch taters just like every other state in the Union. | |

| California women: fact or myth? myth Posted: 11/2/2008 12:07:43 AM | Hello welcome to the heart of California . There is probably a gold digger or two to be found but your going to have to search them out as this area isn't condusive to that type of lifestyle. The only place to buy clothes would be Walmart , online or the next city. You might however find some real gold diggers and go panning with them..Eureka there is gold in our hills!!!! But seriously location has nothing to do with being a gold digger. Either you are or your not , no matter what state you decide to hang your designer bag in. | |

| California women: fact or myth? Posted: 11/19/2008 2:04:17 AM | I find that Socal women are definitely like that.
Where as Norcal women are more creative and look for things on the inside.
|
| California women: fact or myth? Posted: 11/20/2008 10:13:14 AM | Well there are a lot of transplants here. It seems there are no differences between Norcal and Socal Women. There seems to be a few stereotypical characters for us natives. Several movies in the eighties have these characters. You can blame it on tinsel town. There are decent women everywhere. There are decent women who like to spoil themselves with luxury goods. And yes there are the super materialistic personalities who only are looking for free rides. Courtesy seems to be a declining quality. Those women who project courtesy generally seem to be more concerned on inside rather than outside qualities. | |

| California women: fact or myth? Posted: 11/21/2008 11:59:43 AM | And all California men are brainless boys...
The irony is that the rest of the US is affected by these stereotypes through media and golddigging bubblehead brainlessness, male or female, is popular everywhere. As for tofu-eating, all y'all white folks just got that from us asians. I don't think tofurella and all those fake meat products count as tofu anymore, though :P

| California women: fact or myth? Posted: 11/21/2008 1:27:28 PM | Alright, in the time that I've been living in California, here is my "opinion" on this subject. I do believet hat they have gold-diggers. I had a woman tell my friend "he didnt have enough money to speak to her" while we were at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. I do believe a lot of them are too self absorbed in their looks to care about anything else, and for that matter don't hold a lot of knowledge. And the list of stereotypical Cali woman goes on. There are a lot of people here who do follow the sterotype.
I think depending on where you go, you're more likely to find it than in other places. Hollywood for example is known for having wealthy people, therefor you're likely to find gold-diggers and airheads. Male and female alike. LA you'll find a lot as well, but there are also a lot of creative people, and people with intellect. Anywhere you go you're going to find people who fit the sterotype and people who laugh at it. Cali is the center of attention for a lot of media, whether it be in movies or songs, or anywhere else. A lot of wealthy people retire here. It's almost like a place for the sterotypes to come and live, whether they were originally from California or not.
With that being said, you'll find people like this anywhere. But not ALL people in California are like that. Not all girls think "chicken of the sea isn't chicken" (and I know she's not originally from Cali, just making a point). You've got to take these factors into consideration when you think about something like this. Location DOES make a difference because people are more likely to live somewhere that fits their personality. And unfortunately, a lot of people in California ruin it's reputation for the men and woman who do show character and many other qualities that make them interesting past their physical features, and toys. So are the moajority of Cali woman like that? ... . .
I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you.

| California women: fact or myth? Posted: 11/21/2008 1:29:54 PM | As a California native that has been to ALL 48 continental states, I can attest to the fact that this particular stereotype is NOT limited to one state. They can, just as easily, be found in NYC, Atlanta, OKC, Seattle, Indianapolis, etc.
California is it's own little country, with either the 5 or 6 th largest economy in the WORLD, and has it's own mindset. It truly has EVERYTHING, including a broad mix of people, sterotypes, cliches, etc.
There are beautiful and ugly people nationwide!
Actually, I think the OP was just being immature because he's been snubbed by women that he was attracted to, but the feeling wasn't mutual!
You can't be EVERYONE'S cup of tea..........sorry to say!

| California women: fact or myth? Posted: 11/24/2008 10:38:58 PM | I am a native Southern Californian. I grew up around alot of rich snobbish fakes. In my experience, they generally aren't very happy people, always complaining, never satisfied. It could be my perception, but sooner or later those boobs start to sag and when the money's gone, they learn to grow up real quick.
What's wrong if a women wants a man with money? As long as she's willing to give the man what HE wants she can be selective. It's what worked for the hunter-gatherers. If you have direction and a goal of financial success in life, say you want those silicone implanted botox models. The fact is that most men KNOW the type of girl their interested in needs some wine and dining$$$. Hey if it causes men to strive harder for their goals, maybe it can be a good thing. We are brought up to believe life is short, so whoever dies with the most toys wins. It's a simple goal to understand, and since no one is sure of the "big" questions, we live in a sort of Lala land of flashing lights, glitz, and glam. As long as you say San Fran is more smuggy than LA I'm cool
If someone gets superficial to the point of annoying me I'll tell them straight up how much I think they are worth, monetarily.
A state with 30 million people (more than most countries in the world) , a rougly 20 hour drive from one end to the other, should HAVE options and diversity of people.
Stop this cali bashing. Or go ahead and keep bashing. I don't care.
Moral - if you have money, be classy with it. That's all.
