| What was the first car you ever owned.

Ran like a dream, guzzled the petrol and went like the clappers!
My dad even modified it so the steering was lighter for me- damn that was a massive, heavy car.
I never wanted to let it go but after a few years and a guy badgering me to sell it, I relented and he used it for illegal drag racing for years!! Apparently it was the car everyone tried to beat. | |

Posted: 6/21/2007 6:25:00 AM | My first car was an EH, that was painted metal flake midnight blue, she had her ar*e in the air, fat tyres, a sports steering wheel, and I loved her to death.
Unfortunately, she got red stickered one night(had to be towed, not driven) and had 23 defaults (the cop's always exaggerate!) .
I finally sold her not when the oil leaked inside her on the passenger side, all over my friends white pants, BUT not long after she caught fire outside a pizza shop in Perth
Cost of car $450! Memories....Priceless | |

Posted: 6/21/2007 7:04:18 AM | Mazda 626 1984 Model - with all options - including power windows, mirrors and power steering - I thought I was a legend in my own lunch time. Used to play with the windows sometimes until 1 of them broke in the middle of Redfern when i was parking the car to meet a mate at night. We sat outside the house with a beer in 1 hand and a cricket bat each in the other as the midnight BBQ cooked away. Yes she was called Black Beauty and was a manual - so for a 2.2l she was gutsy too.
Best fun I have ever had was a Jeep Wrangler I had as a work car (it was the last one available). No carpark that closed after midnight could ever keep me in and and those traffic jams were never an issue when i could see 20 cars ahead of me. No room, loved petrol and could not carry a loaf of bread in the back - but she looked like alot of fun and it was a freebie so all good fun for me to enjoy. | |

some cars just have nice definable lines that give them that "something", a" smooth" ride when driven respectably,a certain personality "unique" to that car, i can relate this to women as well.
hmmm, maybe i need a classic woman!

Posted: 6/21/2007 4:17:37 PM | | 1976 Mitsubishi Galant ..... baby poo brown .... huge Mambo sticker on back window so I couldn't see out ... rusty roof racks ......... it was the best car I have ever owned .... ran on the smell of oily rag, nothing ever went wrong with it and could accomodate 6 blokes, surfboards and all their gear quite uncomfortabley .... | |

Me too!! I had an old Orange 180B Datsun SSS. It was the sport coupe version - only two doors. Although mine had a black vinyl roof - not the white one. Classy.
I used to drive it up and down the Esplanade on the Gold Coast thinking I was SO cool. In hindsight, I was a complete idiot, but I loved that car.  | |

Posted: 6/22/2007 12:37:43 AM | Firstly in the NT you have your L-Plates for 2 weeks and then on your P-Plates for a year, and you can get your licence at 16 years.....................so my very first car, at aged 16 week one of P-Plates, total of 3 weeks on road.............
1972 HQ Monaro Coupe, 350Chev, T400 gearbox, hooked up to a B&M quickshift, loved that car, huge backseat.............get there fast to take your time!  | |

Posted: 6/22/2007 1:50:36 AM | | hmmm well the first car i have above....second was a 1978 datsun 200b sx, third 1974 datsun 180b (used for rally sprints and motorkhanas) 4th, 1985 nissan pulsar exa turbo (used for the same as the 180b lol) 5th 1993 suzuki vitara estate wagon (fun 4x4) 6th 1985 suzuki sierra (done up for serious off road) 7th 1996 efII ford falcon wagon. and at the moment....holden rodeo ute for work!! lol | |
