I am cynical that someone can genuinely claim to be in love with someone they have never met,if someone told me they loved me from phone calls and photos I would distance myself as I would feel scared. Geri

Long distance/online relationships are certainly possible, but many people don't realize the consequences of delaying that first meeting Face to face equals make it or break it. But too many don't make it there for a variety of suddenly popped up (usually vague) reasons. So, OP, don't hold your breath on words ... actions count louder and it could be an era of new beginnings by all means. Anything is possible in these days.

delaying that first meeting can work both ways. It might give you time to know someone who is really shy better, or it might let you see someones bad traits quicker if you let them keep rambling on in messages/email....it might surface in words. I believe we can fall in love quickly, it is whether or not both parties end up at the same level at the same time. Obviously for most of us, it didn't happen the right way, that is why we are here.
