I give thanks for drawing another breath of air without out fear or trepidation. I give thanks for where I am in the world and the freedoms I am provided in AUSTRALIA. I give thanks that I have a roof over head and I dont wake up (or have been kept up) hearing the constant rattle of gun fire or of mortar shells exploding around me. I give thanks that I am not forced off my property, or escorted from work by radical factional groups weilding machetes and guns. I give thanks that I CHOOSE what I will be having for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and have the means to provide this. I give thanks that I am in good health. Finally I give thanks that there are other people out there in the world that REALLY do and are concerned about my welbeing.
NOW - For those that don't have any of the above mentioned freedoms or only some and not others, are in a less fortunate position than I am. Knowing this, maybe, just maybe, my situation isn't so bad after all.
Eric Idle of the Monty Python fame had a song for this - ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE!!!!!!

| What do you do to cheer yourself up... Posted: 8/22/2007 6:30:47 AM | Aw and there was me believing for just a little while ''You're all so welcoming''.
What cheers me up is that so many ppl think they're being original.
And far more that have been here before, for longer, P*ss 'emselves about it all.
If it WAS High-School it would be easier to understand, and / or accept.
I do feel more ''cheery'' though...re-establishing a real connection or two gives me the strength to be more honest.
(Ta' Ton). As for the in-jokes and endless ''Banter''...just go ''private''. (Save yourself the embarrassment and who knows...U might get real relationships, and quite ''Cheerier'').

| What do you do to cheer yourself up... Posted: 8/23/2007 4:27:33 AM | When I got home from work I went out into the back yard and just stood there, looking towards the sky, feeling the rain wash over my face and remembering just how much I used to love playing in the rain when I was younger (I still love it, but we don't get much anymore). When I was nice and freezing cold and wet I came in, had a divine hot shower and then donned my sexy, soft and warm flannie jammies.
Simple things, but I was happy.

| What do you do to cheer yourself up... Posted: 8/23/2007 4:36:30 AM | I cheer myself up by going into the bedroom and getting my favourite axe from the suitcase on the left.....
Then crank up One of my turns - Pink Floyd on the stereo....
