| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/1/2008 5:56:14 PM | my being is mine and I'm wary but you're stealing my heart and its scary my "loves" have been less hit than miss but they never ever felt like this
you seem to know me from long ago and even though we both want to go slow there's no slowing freefall, it only gets faster may the net of our love avert a disaster
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/1/2008 8:42:14 PM | May the net of our love avert a disaster It's wild, thats why we keep it in a net We're kinda clumbsy and awkward We haven't had a disaster, least not yet.
Well there was that one time Your elbow got my eye It hurt like hell But, I didn't cry

| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/1/2008 10:06:30 PM | actually, too late, they left long ago factually, new skates, aren't good in the snow so if you want to see them again pick up the phone or even a pen send off a quick note to the embassy down south it will reach them much quicker than word of mouth you know each winter from early in their youth they'll be flying down south like a good snow goose | |
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/2/2008 1:55:41 AM | they'll be flying down south like a good snow goose reminds me of many years ago i was torn with which country to live in crisis had come and moving back here was in question and so i joined with close women friends in a meditation and one said i would travel with the seasons like a snow goose...... i never forgot her vision that day and in fact it was a good prophecy for i have fulfilled it twice now so far....turns out it wasn't just fantasy | |
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/2/2008 5:36:13 AM | for i have fulfilled it twice now so far.... turns out it wasn't just fantasy it's a hell of a big back seat car ... earns hundreds from the big ass three bought it from the pimp round Dundas and Gervais ... think it was back in June making it mine was like conquering the maze .. couldn't get it done too soon | |
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/3/2008 7:16:43 AM | couldn't get it done too soon when we wanted to put a man on the moon let's hope we have the same resolve for the current crisis we must solve
another ice shelf fading fast they say next summer might melt the last and then the feedbacks come into play like a hellbound train in a runaway
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/3/2008 7:31:55 AM | Like a helbound train in a runaway Or a crisis that's right on the brink Its all the fault of something we did Thats a little presumptious I think
Yes the glaciers are melting And, no sir, that may not be nice But before the caps started melting Iowa was covered with ice
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/3/2008 9:19:39 AM | Iowa was covered with ice but now there's a storm a brewin' beware the winds and the rain for the damage is coming again
Hurrican season has started and it's not going to be nice already there is this major storm where once there was ice
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/3/2008 11:16:30 AM | Where once there was ice Now lies a tender beating heart Open to new thoughts new ideas Hoping against all hopes once more Pride cometh before the fall Ice cometh before the thaw Hope like Spring is eternal Warming all with it's presence | |
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/3/2008 11:39:39 AM | warming all with its presence no presumption required the evidence is in and its hard naysayers, oil company inspired
it's not hard to educate yourself about the perils of global warming the science is pretty straightforward and the evidence is overwhelming
(as an earth scientist, I am aware that glaciers covered Iowa. I am also aware of mass extinctions. I have read most of the peer reviewed articles on the subject of warming and our role in it, but don't take my word for it. Read some for yourselves. Knowledge is a powerful thing)

| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/3/2008 5:50:57 PM | The ice has been melting for 20000 years give or take, with periods of re-glaciation, and periods of more rapid melting. No doubt man is a contributing factor to more rapid melting. No Doubt. However, if we had never learned to walk upright and had not figured out that we can burn anything combustible, the ice would still melt as we are in the warming cycle of the present glaciacion cycle. The problem is there are WAAAAAAAY to many people on this earth, and, in order to simply maintain life, we are consuming natural resources, including oxygen, water, ozone, hydrocarbons, minerals etc. etc. etc. at alarming rates. I don't have the answer, except that reason tells me that many things are going to change. Some of the things that we have done, like coastal cities, are going to be having even more problems eventually. I did not know you were an earth scientist. I do know that you are a very good, and gifted, poet. I enjoy your writing very much | |

| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/3/2008 7:21:42 PM | many thanks to the shamrock man for pointing out the crux population out of control people like sex too much
so abstinence only will never work it is simply unattainable we need a better plan to return to something sustainable
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/3/2008 7:29:57 PM | to return to something sustainable means changing our hearts and minds beyond just buying smaller cars or praying to the stars
maybe one answer is turning gay for they can't make children anyway and sadly some say aids and natural disasters serve a purpose as part of the overpopulation solution
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/4/2008 8:06:47 AM | serve a purpose as part of the overpopulation solution go on a killing spree-the few the proud, the marines for deserts and concrete are both sustainable returning to sustainability is a long way backwards prior to techno fixes, capitalism and oligarchic greed if we go extinct for reasons beyond our control, we can hold our heads high but to dissapear due to our own behavior makes a mockery of our self proclaimed morality and intelligence | |
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/4/2008 12:00:39 PM | our self proclaimed morality and intelligence could be questioned by the polar bear breaking through ice and thinking does mankind even care?
and the frogs we caught as kids gone missing from the pond devolution is being written oblivious to what's beyond
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/4/2008 1:41:45 PM | oblivious to what's beyond, I played with friends in a pond caught tadpoles as a kid put em in my room without a lid went on vacation with all concerns were we rid came back home carrying our loads
ran to my room with polywogs lacking thought nuthin of it, while i was unpacking was it something i should have been tracking to prevent a houseful of dead toads
(feel free to ignore this truly experiential yet utterly hopeless last line, but i just had to go there).
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/4/2008 2:57:23 PM | a houseful of dead toads reminds me of my childhood antics when we filled up our screened in porch with about a hundred praying mantis
little did we know what we know now that the female mantis is one to dread for clinging to the screens were all the males without any heads
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/4/2008 3:05:56 PM | were all the males without any heads asked the feds to the woman who bled she said they all had no cred said they were created all equal
so i wasted them all the short and the tall they are all gonna fall just hang out and wait for the sequel
| LAST LINE BECOMES YOUR FIRST LINE OF AN 8 (EIGHT) LINE STANZA Posted: 9/4/2008 3:08:10 PM | were all the males without any heads grateful for not being a male praying mantis nor a female either wouldn't want to behead my mates and wouldn't make me very popular with the boys nor would it get me invited on too many dates | |
