| Terry Schiavo Posted: 3/30/2005 5:49:38 PM | | Yes , I understand that , it's just the circumstances of this situation. Last night I was surfing cable channels and on 2 seperate news channels ,they stated some disturbing facts that are difficult to dismiss. One news channel anchor mention the fact that over 2 dozen surgeons and doctors believe that Teri has been MIS diagnosed, I flipped to another news channel and they stated that 30 doctors and surgeons who have observed this woman do believe without a doubt that she has been Mis diagnosed. Not to mention all of the eye witnesses who are probably friends and family , who do believe she has been mis diagnosed. Really , from what I have seen , it appears to me that the husband is the only one who believes that she is in a vegetative state. Just these speculations alone should warrant a more accurate investigation . It does explain why the parents of Terry are fighting so dilligently to have the feeding tube re-installed. How can over 2 dozen doctors and neuro surgeons observations be so quickly dismissed? I wish I could believe that story about her being in a vegetative state , then maybe I could sleep at night. | |

15 years without saying a word. Come on now. Do you really think there is anyone in there? What if she does have some sort of conciousness? If it was you and you were in there but couldn't move, eat, talk? would you want to lay on a bed for 15 years trapped in a useless body?
Not me, show some mercy and put me down.
Back to all these doctors though. Before can I believe that this many doctors think she was misdiagnosed I need to see some names. How many have even seen her to be able to have an opinion? Lets see them back up the diagnosis they made without ever seeing her. I suppose though that if a news person called enough doctors some of them would say she was misdiagnosed.

| Terry Schiavo Posted: 3/30/2005 9:03:59 PM | | micxter... i know exactly where you're coming from, i've watched the news as well but you have to remember... people are seperating themselves into the typical left wing/right wing categories and depending on who's reporting, who you're listening to on the radio, you will get news that falls in line with their political beliefs. i watched one report last night where a reporter got her butt nailed to the wall by a doctor who insisted she reported the facts and when she couldn't stand it anymore and couldn't defend herself, her news anchor stepped in and tried to shut the doctor down. it's all propaganda, that's why i suggest you do some research of your own on the facts they are giving you in between all the propaganda and form your opinion from what you learn on your own using unbiased materials. i listened to both sides, looked up the bulemia, looked up the info. on how the brain works, looked up the feeding tube stuff too... there is a plethera of information out there for you to reivew on your own. don't let other people set your opinions in stone and definitely don't let this keep you up at night... if you find, after checkin' all this out for yourself, that it's inhumane for them to pull the feeding tube, then at least you formed that opinion based on the facts you dug up for yourself. | |

WIESBADEN, Germany - A U.S. Army tank company commander told a military court Wednesday that he shot a gravely wounded, unarmed Iraqi man “to put him out of his misery,” saying the killing was “honorable.”
Taking the stand for the first time, Capt. Rogelio “Roger” Maynulet, 30, described the events that led him to fire twice upon the Iraqi, maintaining that the man was too badly injured to survive.
“He was in a state that I didn’t think was justified — I had to put him out of his misery,” Maynulet said. He argued that the killing “was the right thing to do, it was the honorable thing to do.”
Prosecutors at the court-martial say Maynulet violated military rules of engagement by shooting an Iraqi who was wounded and unarmed.
Maynulet is being court-martialed on a charge of assault with intent to commit murder in the May 21, 2004, killing near Kufa, south of Baghdad.
All hail the culture of life.

Back to all these doctors though. Before can I believe that this many doctors think she was misdiagnosed I need to see some names. How many have even seen her to be able to have an opinion?
How many PoFers have seen her to make an opinion?
Lets see them back up the diagnosis they made without ever seeing her.
Lets see you back up the diagnosis made without ever seeing her.
I suppose though that if a news person called enough doctors some of them would say she was misdiagnosed.
And, they are infinitely more qualified than you or I. I don't know if Schiavo is in a PVS, or if she wanted/wants to live that way. Just because you wouldn't, though, doesn't mean she doesn't. You'll forgive me if I side with the people who have known her longest, been closest to her, and have nothing to gain by her death.
|
| Terry Schiavo Posted: 3/31/2005 6:50:40 AM | It is difficult to obtain any trustworthy info about Teri's condition because Michael ruthlessly controls access to her. However, there is still sufficient evidence to cast serious doubt on whether she is in a PVS. And if she isn't, then they really are torturing her (through starvation) and murdering her. Why would anyone admit to that?
And I find it very suspicious that the whole thing needs to be clouded in secrecy. That secrecy allows those who want her dead to dismiss any contravening evidence as paranoid fantasy or politically motivated. Very convenient. If she's really the way they say she is, and if it is beyond reasonable doubt, then why are they hiding her? They would have nothing to lose and everything to gain if they let people look at her and see she really is a vegetable. Instead, Michael is hiding behind his "rights." Nor would it be humiliating for her if she were completely gone; she wouldn't be capable of caring.

| Terry Schiavo Posted: 3/31/2005 6:59:59 PM | | avatar honey... it's the principal of the matter. in my family, we would know better than to put each other in such a public spotlight if we were living in the condition terri did for so long. it's a personal, family matter that the public had no business peering into... terri had rights to privacy that her parents fully disrespected by involving the media to begin with & they were WAY out of line for doing it. it wasn't terri's husband that was running around looking for support, it was her parents. and i commend him for staying out of the spotlight as much as he could/did during this ordeal. it had to be extremely hard for him to bite his tounge when be accused of murder! unless you've lived his life for the past 15 years, i wouldn't cast stones at him. 15 years of suffering at the hands of terri's relentless family would have been enough for most people to give up and walk away... terri's husband obviously took his vows seriously. i'm just glad it's all over now. | |
|
| Terry Schiavo Posted: 4/1/2005 10:30:17 AM | | I absolutely agree. Any money he received for pain and suffering through this ordeal in 1993 is long gone on health care for his wife. I understand the parents pain... but they need to let go and move on with their lives, knowing their daughter is now "in a much better place." | |
|
| Terry Schiavo Posted: 4/1/2005 11:58:34 AM | "it wasn't terri's husband that was running around looking for support, it was her parents. and i commend him for staying out of the spotlight ."
True, but I believe that he wasn't the one who felt victimized. Terry's parent's were the ones who obviously felt that their daughter's rights were being trampled on. We can all speculate about her condition ,and research all the information about people in vegetative conditions , but really it doesn't have a lot of validity ,baecause there is no way any one can say for sure that she was in that condition. Yes, eating disorders could have caused her alleged condition , but so many other things could have caused it as well. I will admit I have made speculations about this subject . That is all anyone can do , unless they are right there, and know first hand. That is what I have based my assumptions on. I look for who is closest to her and has been fighting for her the most , and I keep coming up with the same answer: her parents, they had nothing to gain for doing what they did , and always tried to protect her and help her, so that is why I have to support the idea ,that they did believe that she was being victimized, and the parent were acting out of love ,on their daughter's behalf.
|
| Terry Schiavo Posted: 4/1/2005 8:44:30 PM | micxter... if terri's husband did not feel her family had crossed the line with him, he would not have gone to the lengths he did to keep them away from her, especially, during the last moments of her life.
this is definitely a touchy subject and no one can really say how they'd react in either one of the sides if it were them involved, until the day it does happen in their lives. i know there'd be no one in this world that would be able to keep me from being with my son in his last moments, that's for sure. i don't agree with a lot of what's gone on between these two families over terri's condition, but ultimately, i had to side with terri's husband for finally having the courage to let his wife go.
terri's parents lost their place in her life by fighting a battle with the one man that had the power and used it against them, to keep their daughter from them... i would have made him my best friend if i had to in order to be by my child's side and terri's family chose not to do that and they suffered in the end for that decision. like i said before... you need to keep your enemies close to you at all times.
|
| Terry Schiavo Posted: 4/1/2005 9:14:15 PM | In a way, I'm glad it's over and she is finally at peace. But, deep down inside, I really thought if there was a chance for her to recover after her feeding tube had been removed, she could have opened her eyes and in a cookie monster voice, shouted out "COOKIE!" and then ate it making AAAHHHCHOMPCHOMPCHOMPCHOMP noises with crumbs flying everywhere.
Yeah, that would have been a miracle.
|

| Terry Schiavo Posted: 6/15/2005 1:45:45 PM | Hmmm. I went looking for the pics, and it appears that hoaxsters re-released autopsy photos of Lisa McPherson who died in the same manner as Terri Schiavo, at the hands of Scientologists. I apologize for giving incorrect information.
However, the Lisa McPherson photos will probably give you a good idea of what Terri Schiavo looked like at the end stages of her life. This is a link to her website, and you must agree to see the pictures at the bottom of the page, if you are so inclined.
