Posted: 11/6/2006 3:34:01 PM | Absolutely has to be Irish..anybody seen Boondock Saints? I mean truly, you could do away with terrorism completely...just send in a guy with that accent and I would crumple like a tissue.
Scottish would come in a very close second...If their accent is very thick, you have no idea what they are saying and does it matter ...not one bit. Arrgg. | |

Posted: 11/6/2006 3:42:36 PM | Favorite accents are Australian, English, Canadian, US Southern, in that order (Minnesotan when I am feeling really kinky). Of course if my beloved E.H. had a Swahili accent instead of English, I would find it just as exciting.

Posted: 11/6/2006 5:35:19 PM | | Malay. I spent a few months in Malaysia and was fascinated by the cultured (radio voice) Malay accent. Imagine a proper british accent, but softer and rounder, with a sing-song lilt to it. That's the Malay accent. | |

Accents and regional word play are fun! I have spent many an enjoyable evening in the company of Newfies. That province seems to have more people who are the 'salt of the earth'. I love them! | |

I'd have to say anything with a light lilt. No specific region but there are some voices that have a certain lilt to them, that I could listen to for hours. | |

Me, I would like to hear anyone's accent. I might be able to next week- getting some hearing aids on Thursday! I am terrified!
But when I was in my 20's and relearning speech, it seemed that nearly every day someone would guess "what country" I was from! It was fun!
EDIT: I can lipread well enough to see that someone might have an accept or speech impediment. | |

Southern USA accents, from Texas or Georgia, are probably the worst in the world. My accent is strange too because I am bilingual and I have grown up throughout North America. | |

However, followed by my all time favorite: Aussie! Then Irish, Canadian, (yes, all y'all have an accent), Spanish as they speak it in Madrid, and Italian. Okay. Okay. Can't leave out the southern country boy, y'all. Nuthin' better than a little 'bama mixed in with a little carolina! | |
