I've switched a few people over to FireFox who use XP. :) When I use the PC, it's FireFox all the way!

Bettersearch was recently recognized as a virus definition, and embeds hidden .js extensions into both the program files and the user profiles. So if you have it in, you need to uninstall the program, delete the \program files\mozilla folder, and also delete the Firefox files out of the user profiles in XP, and then re-install the whole thing again, losing all your add-ons in the process. If you don't have it, keep it that way.

| What browser do you use? Posted: 6/12/2005 9:00:46 PM | Firefox. Imperfect but pretty good. Opera. Very nice, but occasional rendering issues with some sites. Links. When I'm stuck on a console only :) | |

| What browser do you use? Posted: 6/13/2005 2:08:47 AM | firefox is ok but scrolling is jerky and its a little slow. for ie fans i highly recommend avant browser which is an ie build but makes it sooooooooooooooo much faster and gives u hundreds of browsing options on top of wot ie already offers, plus its free. best of the best though is opera browser, so so fast, smooth, compact, options gallore, hundreds of skins. get it, u'll love it p.s.... i have keygenerators to make opera free and remove the ads | |

| What browser do you use? Posted: 6/13/2005 5:34:43 PM | | Right now firefox on fedora core 3. Have used others. Use text browser "links" for forums such as this. It takes a little getting use to. No graphics. But its like a web browser on steroids. Extreamly fast. | |

| What browser do you use? Posted: 6/13/2005 10:04:14 PM | | Jerky scrolling is usually fixable by disabling "smooth scrolling" from the options. This applies to all browsers. | |

2 - Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050512 Firefox/1.0.4 (WORKS WELL WHEN KONQUEROR DOES NOT)
3 - Links (2.1pre17; Linux 2.6.11.3-ARCH i686;80x24) (PREFERED CONSOLE BROWSER)
4 - Lynx/2.8.5rel.1 libwww-FM/2.14 SSL-MM/1.4.1 OpenSSL/0.9.7g (IF LINKS ISNT INSTALLED, OR IF WRITEN INTO A SHELL SCRIPT)
5 - lwp-trivial/1.41 (Perl SCRIPTED)
6 - Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98) (ON LINUX WITH WINE 20050419) (ONLY USED TO TEST COMPATIBILITY WITH MY WEB DESIGNS) (C'MON SPYWARE I CHALLENGE YOU!)

| What browser do you use? Posted: 6/14/2005 7:43:12 PM | I'm a die-hard IE user. That being said, I got addicted to tabbed browsing and the added features I currently enjoy - being those of Maxthon. I have never encountered a script problem or crash with Maxthon (contrary to the original poster's comments) and find the interface readily familiar to that of IE.
Firefox = Trash. Period. I will accept no argument or excuse. It's lacking in features, requires plugins to do even such a tiny operation as configure the search bar for a custom search engine (if there's no plugin, you're screwed), is PAINFULLY lacking in configurability, and cloned several features that Maxthon introduced first (namely URL aliases, which were not available in the version of firefox I tested about 11 months ago).
That's the end of my rant. :) HAND

Newest Browser:
DEER PARK alpha 1! | |

| What browser do you use? Posted: 6/14/2005 8:00:38 PM | | I loved Maxthon, but I suppose Ibrowse some of the less reputable sites on the internet, and it would crash. Would go back to it in a second, if I knew those issues were fixed. | |

| What browser do you use? Posted: 6/20/2005 9:22:44 AM | well, I originally started using the pre-installed Konquerer that came with my Mandrake 10.0 Official. but after about a day (maybe an hour) after installing my linux OS I downloaded and installed Firefox 0.8 Only problem I had with that is that I couldn't download any new themes or extensions. Since then, I've installed Firefox 1.0.4 and the only thing wrong with this version is that I don't have a desktop icon that I can click on. I have to go into my firefox dir and double click on the shell. Once open though, I love it! Currently using the Pimpzilla theme. Peace

| What browser do you use? Posted: 6/20/2005 9:31:22 AM | One other problem I've come across with firefox 1.0.4 is that when I go to one particular site (dreamdates.com) my whole damn system freezes up and I have to reboot and then start my kde desktop as root and recheck "boot gui at startup" in the MDK control center and then reboot again. Consequently, I don't frequent that site anymore! Peace

| What browser do you use? Posted: 6/22/2005 12:41:11 AM | | I use Safari, Camino and Firefox depending on what my needs are. I have found that only use for IE on mac is to connect to Yahoo Chat Rooms. Other then that it's either Safari or Camino for me. | |
|
| What browser do you use? Posted: 6/24/2005 12:04:14 PM | I am a web developer so I have the big Three right now
Firefox 1.0.4 (my prefered - I love the tabs, Live bookmarks, oh and Adblock is the best extension you can get!)
IE. I use this once and a while, (SP2 gave a pop-up blocker which made it marginaly better)
Opera is not that bad, I have a hard time getting used to it, I dont like the fact that it is not free, (as almost all others are)...
