Posted: 2/4/2007 10:55:41 AM | Please, please, please help me with accessing IM. Up until about three weeks ago it worked fine, I could reply and send message. Then the mess started with the flash player thing. I promise you I have tried to install it at least four times, each time on the screen it shows successful. However cannot access IM and your technical support showed me just now that it is not installed. Please do something about this as I am seeing countless others writing you about the very same thing. What good is being entitled to use it if I cannot access it even with repeated efforts to install that thing? Thank you.

Posted: 2/7/2007 9:20:26 PM | hi, I have been instant messaging and talking with people ..but I keep getting cut off, I am having trouble typing... it is almost like I am typing too ,fast, I have to keep retyping as it is not showing up in the message line.( i am not a fast typer so that is not the problem lol) my window is always flashing ..it is very annoying. please help ( yes my pop up blockers are off ...I use firefox,if that makes a difference. thanks in advance.

Posted: 2/9/2007 2:19:56 PM | The IM used to work fine on this laptop before now it doesn't. I went through the IM problems thread on the forum and IM should work but it does not. Every time I open it I receive a message to upgrade the flash player, I click on the link, I get confirmation it is loaded and nothing happens. I have exited IE and restarted IE AND rebooted and still get the update flash message when I try to IM. My pop-ups for POF and subtracts.userplane.com are allowed on my google toolbar, yahoo toolbar and in IE. The only thing that is different is that I have upgraded yahoo messenger recently and have a vonage USB phone. But I have the same problem whether I have yahoo messenger running or not and have the same problem if the USB phone is plugged in or not. I have messaged and just now emailed Userplane but have not received a response yet.
Any clues?

With the help of userplane support (emailing them support@userplane.com is much faster) my issue is resolved. Here are the steps I took to resolve, maybe they will help you:
1 Uninstall flash
2 Reboot
3 Open Internet Explorer
4 Delete cookies, temporary internet files and history through the IE tools menu
5 Open POF and login
6 Try to find someone to IM and open IM window
7 Upgrade flash when prompted in the IM window
8 Follow instructions on Adobe's site for installation until you see the 'successful' animation
9 Exit POF and close all Internet Explorer windows
10 Open Internet Explorer and POF and start an IM session! | |

First make sure that they have logged into their inbox within the last 15 minutes (you can see login times if you put them in favorites), email them first, and see what happens. The IM will only send if they are logged in.
The "send an email if they don't answer" is not enabled.
Problems with Internet Explorer?

If after you've gone through all the suggestions on this thread (see page 1) you still haven't solved the problem, Userplane can probably help.

Also note (from Userplane Support):
If possible let us [Userplane] know what browser you are using and what version as well as if you are on a Mac or a PC. As much info as you can send regarding how we can reproduce the problem would be great!
The IM feature is off-site with Userplane see email support above.

If you did everything stated above, does this include emailing Userplane support? IM is facillitated off-site, if you've tried everything in post # 1251, including emailing Userplane, and Userplane can't help, there's no one here who can.

However, I do have daughters and don't know how this person could possibly know that without having some type of access to my computer.

Posted: 2/17/2007 11:33:10 AM | When somebody sends me an IM (fave's list only), I'm no longer getting the 'YES/NO' window. It automatically connects me to the other user. Would be nice if I could still have the option of accepting the IM request or not. I've tried everything to get it back, it's still doing it.
