I wouldn't be such a pest about it, but it's nice to have the option of saying yes or no. I have been just closing the window up until now and I've been asking my favorites to ask me in email when they want to turn the IM on. That way I know who's connecting with me!

I was wondering if you could provide me with some general info on your site with regard to one of the questions you ask all of your members to answer.
You ask people what religion they are.
I would be very intrested to know what percentage of Irish people, English people, and your entire population describe themselves as non religious.
I am doing a thesis and would be most intrested in the results.

Posted: 2/19/2007 3:39:18 PM | I can receive IM's, but I can't initiate them, I keep getting timeout. I have not been able to start any IM.
In one case I emailed to verifiy the other user was online and waiting, but could not connect. She could IM me and we could connect, but I could not get it started. No apparent filter blocking, as emails made it.
In another case I was online with Yahoo IM and chatting to verify what I was trying in real time. Still, I could receive but not initiate. Again, we had already exchanged emails so filter should not have been a problem.
PS Am I really expected to go through 51 pages of posts looking for this answer?

Posted: 2/23/2007 8:32:51 AM | my problem in the messenger is i can connect and talk with someone only for a few mintues when what i am typing is sent and it turns to bold black letters they send messages but nothing comes out on my end. i type but cant see what i am typing but it gets send mispelled words and all so then i have to reboot the whole pc to get back and it does the samething again a few mintues after connecting the messenger. just what is the problem with that? some has told me they have the same problem so if they have yahoo then we chat there if not then it becomes a problem in too many reboots. thanks Johnny

Posted: 2/23/2007 8:15:22 PM | For some reason when someone wants to IM me, the window just opens automatically instead of asking me if I want to chat or not with that person or not. I just returned lately and I know it used ask you to pick yes or no.

Posted: 3/2/2007 1:30:30 PM | If you have a current version of Flash installed on your browser, note:
First make sure that they have logged into their inbox within the last 15 minutes (you can see login times if you put them in favorites), email them first, and see what happens. The IM will only send if they are logged in.
The "send an email if they don't answer" is not enabled.
Problems with Flash/Internet Explorer?
1 Uninstall flash
2 Reboot
3 Open Internet Explorer
4 Delete cookies, temporary internet files and history through the IE tools menu
5 Open POF and login
6 Try to find someone to IM and open IM window
7 Upgrade flash when prompted in the IM window
8 Follow instructions on Adobe's site for installation until you see the 'successful' animation
9 Exit POF and close all Internet Explorer windows
10 Open Internet Explorer and POF and start an IM session!
The following is *IMPORTANT*
If after you've gone through all the suggestions on this thread (see page 1) you still haven't solved the problem, Userplane can probably help. Userplane Or (probably faster), send an email to: support@userplane.comAlso note (from Userplane Support): If possible let us [Userplane] know what browser you are using and what version as well as if you are on a Mac or a PC. As much info as you can send regarding how we can reproduce the problem would be great! The IM feature is off-site with Userplane see email support above.

I tried sending to several people, still nothing shows in the Sent Items.

Posted: 3/6/2007 7:19:55 PM | I have downloaded Flash 2 or 3 times once with the active X bar present and it appears as though my computer does not recognize the download. When I try to IM a person It prompts me to instal Flash palyer before I can chat. Your assistance would be apppreciated.
