| Instant Messenger Question
Posted: 8/2/2005 8:29:01 AM | If someone had instant messengered you and you closed the box is there any way to retrieve what they had typed later on? I need it to show someone that another person on here is truly not their friend because they speal ill of the other person.

Once the IM Window has been shut, nothing is retrievable.

Its like it is stuck in a loop. all it says is loading 167K, I don't think it is my computer because I used the myspace instant messager and it works fine, and they are like the same flash program. | |

Other than that, try later as the IM server application bandwidth might have gone to the max. | |

Download the newest Firefox Version.
Shut down 'Internet Explorer' or whatever Browser you are using.
Install Firefox, and select enabling it as your 'Default Browser'.
( ... can be unchecked at a later Date ...)
Start up your Firefox Browser, and then click here:
Adobe Flash Player Download Center
... and install as instructed on their Webpage.
Shut down Firefox, restart it, you'll be able to use IM.

1. Go to the "Tools" toolbar menu and select "Options...".
2. When the "Options" window opens, click on the "Web features" icon in the left-hand panel.
3. Uncheck the box next to "Block Popup Windows". Then, click the "OK" button to exit the "Options" window.
4. Alternatively, you can leave the "Block Popup Windows" box checked and click on the "Allowed Sites" button to the right of it. In the "Allowed Sites" window that opens, type "www.plentyoffish.com" in the text field beneath "Address of the web site". Click the "Allow" button to the right of the text field and then click "OK" to confirm the addition.

How Do I Message Other Users?
You can use the instant message feature with any other users online for free. To find out who is currently online, click on ‘Online My City’ or ‘Online My State’ (you can only message users that are within 75 miles of you). You can instant message anyone on your Favorites list, who is also online at the same time as you simply click on the ‘instant message’ text.
How Do I Turn Instant Messaging On Or Off?
You can turn the IM feature on or off in the Mail Settings section of plentyoffish.com
How Do I Block Other Users On Instant Messenger?
To block other users simply click on the circle with a cross through it on the instant messenger viewer.

Rating / Voting Feature
How Can I Get Rated By Other Users?
You’ll find a ‘rate me’ option when you’re filling out your profile. Whatever you select will determine whether or not other members can rate you. If you’d like to change the ‘rate me’ option, simply click on ‘Upload Images’ at the top of the screen, scroll to the bottom of the screen, and check the box that applies to you (yes or no).
Where Do I Find My Rating And Voting Information?
You can find your rating information on the top right hand corner of your profile. If you click on 'Image' on someone's profile you can rate their image. If you click on 'Vote Breakdown' you'll be able to see how many people voted for you, and what their average vote for you was. 'Voting History' shows who you voted for if you voted a 7 or higher for them. If you rate someone a 7 or higher you might show up on their 'Fans' list.
How Do I Rate People?
Click on Rate People at the top of the screen. Next specify who you’d like to rate (men, women, or both), what age group you’d like to rate, and what ethnicity. Next click on the scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is the worst rating and 10 is the best.

There could be numerous reasons for that.
First of all, make sure no other Application is accessing your Audio Card such as MSN or some Media Player you might have running on your computer, etc.
Shut them all off before opening your 'Instant Messenger' Window.
If you are running Windows XP and your Hardware is fairly new, this shouldn't be an issue.
I can't seem to receive IM's. Not sure why. It does say I have Flash javascript.
First of all, make sure your IM is not turned off by making any settings changes in your
Mail Settings.
For some reason, I myself don't get any either. Try 'Im'ing' anyone through your Favorites Page in your "MAIL/PROFILE".

Posted: 8/13/2005 4:57:27 PM | the last couple of days i dont have the option to IM any of my favs...even when they're on. When can still send messages and receive them immediately but no IM option. A buddy of mine just told me he's having the same problem.
Any ideas?
