Posted: 8/9/2008 9:31:06 PM | My question/issue cannot be resolved thru the FAQ. I do not want to be contacted by IM by ANY user.
I have had several pop-ups asking if I will accept an IM from s0-and-so. I have clicked "No" but that doesn't stop people from trying to IM me.
The FAQ said I could turn IM off or on in Mail Settings. I have looked there and do not see a specific IM option there.
Can you help me? | |

in the sent messages section, i noticed that messages are read with a previous date attahced to them, for example today there can be an unread message in my account, and tommorow it can show read but with yesterdays date? can you explain this thanks.... | |

| Sending messages
Posted: 8/13/2008 7:16:35 AM | I typed a message to another POF'er... and clicked the send icon.. no problem..
It came up as being sent, however when I go to "sent messages" it's not there...
I don't want to look like a total dipsh*& and send it again.. Besides I put together a
great message and I don't think I can duplicate it again.

Posted: 8/13/2008 12:59:17 PM | I followed the posted advice in Message #1 and sent a message to user "userplane" to ask for help with the IM here. I did not get a reply and in fact my message was never read.
The IM here drives me bonkers. For some reason I can't figure out, when other party sends a line for me the insertion point jumps out of the box where I'm typing. So I have to grab mouse, click in the box and try typing again, but then another message comes in out it jumps and I start over again. Sometimes I never actually get to type and the conversation becomes one-sided.
A while back I was in here with a gal, fast typist. She kept sending one liners in rapid fire. I could do nothing but wait until she stopped and then asked her to wait for my reply before typing again. Only then was it any use.
Audio and video doesn't work for me either.
Windows XP Pro and either Firefox or Internet Explorer. Two different computers. No matter what I try the results are the same.
I've given up on what proves to be a useless feature and have disabled it. Sigh. | |

I have windows internet explorer 7 and fixed IM (would never load up completely) by
going to tools/internet options/security/trusted sites (on internet explorer menu bar)
changed the security level to LOW

NOW, I just get people appearing.....without being asked.
Is this new, or can I still make my settings someone so that they have to ask first??
