Just a quick question. When I open the IM window it loads up correctly but no picture appears. This the same for the other person on the other end.
Is this a problem with the POF site??

Months later i finally opened one of the emails to find out it was a dating site and this guy must have been useing my email it came with a password so i went in this is a 24 yr old from barrie I got interested since im single erased all his info and put mine in with a picture but i cant change the age and location . I am also worried about identity theft and is this guy active in useing my email adress can you pls respond and let me know how this happened . I changed the username to hotrod 47 pls respond as i am concerned | |

Company that makes the IM is being shut down evidently, and I see a massive increase in site use and number of people using the site when there is no IM. | |

Posted: 4/15/2009 11:10:10 AM | well, i guess i am not surprised that the site is more "efficient" without the IM, as the IM was often slow, etc
but i have to admit i am sad and disappointed that there seem to be no plans to replace the IM; i use it often and will miss it, though it was sometimes frustrating to use
might i suggest a notice of some sort on the home page? it might save alot of frustration for alot of people

Posted: 4/15/2009 6:11:01 PM | | yes it really is too bad... i really enjoy this site ... i have used it for nearly a year and i use the im feature very frequently... but without the im feature i dont think i will be using this site very much anymore... im allows me to keep my personal email anonymous... dont really want to give my email address out to people i do not know in order to im. i am sure this is even more important to the ladies than it is to the men. in im you can actually have a conversation with someone as opposed to emails where you have to wait hours or even a day or two to get a response to a simple question.... also if a woman chooses not to talk to me in im i dont have to waste my time delving into my life to make an email interesting to her if she is not going to respond anyway... another thing is if i do take the time to email a woman and she emails me back, its nice when the next step is to actually converse. this is quite disappointing... i am sorry to say that if there is not a solution to this issue then unfortunately it looks like i will be on the hunt for a new dating site also. | |
