You are so "RIGHT" !!! It was a Wonderful site until they keep changing things. IM was the wonderful part that also gave this site the charisma, honor and charm to challenge the liars and players on line... I know they can still be liars and players on IM and they give people like me a bad name that about what I think when I think it from my Heart and on my sleeve!!! People like this who wants to hide behind his computer and and not open up to their true feeling, Men to be afraid of and not caring about anybodys feelings but his or their own :( Maybe there were too many "JERKS" on here they had to delete it... So, JERKS get a Life or go *$#@&*%#$^@* jerk-off in your closet or find some of your own kind. Get Lost

Posted: 4/24/2009 5:08:01 AM | hi lets stop tellig everyone of what the owners of the site have done and start putting some presure on them to retunr the loved IM, i think we should be asking people to flood the owners of the site with emails requesting them put it back on. they must be looking at the forum and laughing at us all, let the make a new statement of what there are going to do and send an email to all member and see what reaction they would get
let make a call for action and get everyone to email the site owners and demand the the IM returns

LOL! But But But .... You just said the IM was what made this site different? And then you say everyone will leave and go to other sites. Well if those other dating sites have free IM then the IM service was not what really made plentyoffish different right? I think the thing that makes POF different to ME anyway is that its as large as the next five biggest dating sites combined. And I am talking free and paid sites here not just the free ones. Its the quantity of people here that makes it unique not the IM feature thats gone.

What you folks dont realize is that based on the numbers posted the vast majority of users here never IM'd at all and thats why the site owner apparently didnt think it was a huge loss. The only way to prove him wrong is for the site traffic numbers to dip big time now that its gone. I am GUESSING here that his perception was that the IM was mostly being used by people chatting and not the serious daters. Which could be right or wrong thats only a guess. Only time will tell.
Look I am NOT against IM and I hope you get it restored. Its easy enough for folks that didnt want it to disable it so it didnt harm anyone else.

Posted: 4/24/2009 9:59:21 PM | well even though the im was faulty, it was a very nice feature. my friends in this area are disappointed that it has been removed as a service from this site. my gut feeling is that it will be re-installed, but as a paying member-only feature.
the % of poffers may not have used the im or rarely used the im; i myself used ti often and am missing the interaction i recieved from it.

Again I believe IF SITE TRAFFIC NUMBERS DIVE HERE that Markus will bring it back. Markus is a smart guy. He wont do this if it costs him income.

In my mail settings it states that IM is 'turned off' but in my profile I have it always set to IM ON!!

to change your password is very simple just click on EDIT and scroll it down the page you see your old password and delete then just put a new password
