FRICK, get REEL pple! there is NO such thing as a soul mate!! and NO i am NOT p.o. or jaded but realistic.
If u need to look outside of urself to be fuflilled or become fulfilled then u r lacking something that requires growth to challenge urself.
Do u really want someone to be like u on every single wavelength???
Do u want someone to be mirror image of u?
NOT 4 me honey.... shyute if they were like me carbon copy, lord help us all! 
I do NOT want someone to live their lives through me its called codependency and don't need u taking every minute of my day with ur stuff as I have too much of my stuff happening 4 me to deal with.
It's great to shoot the shit and get ur ideas on some the shyte that we go through on a dialy basis but I don't need to hang with u 24/7. I don't like being suffocated.
It's important that we have our own hobbies and skills and not to lose site of that.
Crap, think i am rambling once again.. ohoh!

what does this mean? a soul was split up and re-uniting the parts via 2 ppl coming together is a soul 'mate' or were the souls created in pairs, multiples of 5...7...3.....56....
with the mission of coming together....once...thrice...
or are our chemical receptors overloaded by some stimuli, ie another persson, and fits our unknown genetic criteria...creating the attraction, passion...all the while we are thinking we are in control.... | |

Posted: 11/18/2006 10:01:35 PM | My personal view is that "soulmates" are two souls that are inextricably bound throughout numerous lifetimes... in one life they might be a spouse, in another a sibling, in yet another a friend, but always, at some point in your life you will encounter this soulmate, and always they will be there to teach you something, or to support you something that you have to learn...
And if that makes me a flake, then so be it, but it gets me through the day, and it explains that sudden feeling that we experience from time to time when we meet someone new, and we realize, down in the depths, that we already know them... It's because we already do. | |

At a time in my live I had my soul_mate and was working every sec of the day..to reach a goal we set together...But life turned the page you could say the wrong way.
To this day he is my soul mate...and I believe he still will be beyond my death.
Can I love again..Yes TRUSTING your own feelings....makes love possible

Someone who I completely love and respect as a person and I don't want to change a thing about him. I have had friends that are most definetely soul mates of mine, I trust that family members are soul mates as I believe that our souls choose our parents. I don't beleive that a soul mate is neccesarily there for a life time though. They are those people that make a true impact in our lives and then either stay and grow together or leave as they have taught you the lesson that fate intended. They compliment us and us them and help to bring out the best. | |

soul-mate - noun, a person emotionally or spiritually bonded to another by shared longings, love, etc.
Now this does not put a time frame (example, must we share this longing/love for a minumum of a year or more?) or a limited number (as in only one over a life time...or one at a time). So one could go from one lover (soul-mate) to another lover (soul-mate) in a short time. Also no mention of how long the period of time between the two need to be (Two week? A year?).
Or one could have more than one at a time...or a whole bunch of them. Can a group of school kids, sharing a longing for a school trip, be soul-mates?
...so, to share this "bond" with another, one only requires to be predispose to it.
Soul-mate. I have one of those...actually more than one. My girlfriend of 8 months certainly fit this description and so those my dear lady-friend of more than 10 years.
...and I share the same passion for the direction our company is taking with a co-worker or two, or we not soul-mates?

There are many compatable people for one person...a lot has to do with life circumstances and timing. To feel that the person you are with is your soul mate is a gift and you should embrace it. But don't be nieve to think that there is only one person in the world. There would be an aweful lot of lonely people out there if that was the case. | |

Squirrly, You nailed it. However this is not "your personal view" so much as a phenomenon documented thru literature and a theory played with in many fictional accounts as well. If you have ever read Shirley MacLean(supposedly non fiction
 ) or novels by Amy Tan (fiction but based on fact) then you will have encountered this idea.
Based on this I have met a few soulmates. When you meet one you'll know it. Its scary, you will be challenged in so many ways. Your conversations will go beyond small talk. Your physical connection will be strong. You may say "what did I ever do without this person in my life?" or " I feel like I've known this person all my life" or "I cant imagine my life without this person having been in it"....and generally anyone I've met who I've considered a soulmate with pi$$ me off on a regular basis.And visa versa.
Okay, I guess I have alotta soulmates then!
Call it BS if you will, just my experience....

Soul Mates
The term Soul Mates means many things. These are soul that you have experienced with in past, parallel or future lifetimes.
