Who cares about Osama..He's lost his power, after all, how much respect does he get hiding in a cave from his followers....and as long as he's hiding, he is less concentrated on.

I am more sick of hearing the complaints by clueless people than I am about the war itself. War sucks period, but it is necessary sometimes, you would not be here if not for a war. I agree Bush is not our best president. But he is not the worst either, probably the worst I ever saw in my lifetime, but there have been worse. I would be more concerned about corporate greed than money "wasted" on a war.
You ask if they care about to poor in America, but I ask if you care about the poor in the rest of the world, who do not have the opportunities the poor here had, like school for one. I find it very interesting the people that complain about "we" going to war, were never in the military and don't know anyone over there. I also find it interesting how many people were FOR the war before it started, and how many changed and blamed the president. I heard someone say that if Iraquis had a right to vote in America, the Democrats (I spelled it right :p ) would be all for liberating them. Funny how Mexicans get great treatment from them but Iraquis do not. Don't get me wrong, when I say "them", I am not part of the other side either, I am a free thinker, and am not fooled by the media. I call republicans "them" too.
I have friends in Iraq right now. None of them want to go home until the job is done. Besides part of international law makes us responsible for Iraq now that we took out their government. If we leave without securing them, we have broken our promises and agreements with the civilized world, and lost all of our integrity. Anyone remember integrity ?
Like someone said in a post here, you might be surprised to see what happens in another decade as a result of our action there. I personally am not so confident in any middle east nation, but I do agree that we got rid of another tyrant in the world.
One last thing, when you listen to the stats blasted to you every single day how many American volunteers died in Iraq this year, I want you to look up how many NON volunteers died the same way in Detroit. Just one city Detroit, and its not even the murder leader D.C. is. Most of those people are in the drug trade of course, but a lot of them, way too many are innocent bystanders. How can we call Baghdad dangerous for our trained military people, yet believe it is any worse than our own home ? A former Marine just got killed by his own wife recently!! Of course people are going to die in a war.....its sad, especially because they may die in vain, because we are going to pull out and not finish what we sent out to do.

I think we wouldn't be over there unless we really needed to be. I think there's more to things then people give the government credit for. I feel sometimes people just need to step up to the plate and a least we did. We didn't ignore people in need yeah we have a lot of problems here too. But its a two way street when was the last time you did something for someone in need instead of just complaining about how the government isn't. America has the riches poor people out there. And the middle class doesn't know how good they have it all they do is complain about what they can't get. Until your in a middle of a war torn country trying to not get killed and wondering when your next meal is. I don't think your opinion really counts.

How Many Graves to Crawford?
Posted: 2/5/2007 6:29:30 AM
God willing, we will live
to see George Bush leave office
and a sort of peace will descend on the graves
of those who died on his way out.

We will live to see him travel
the long, long road to his retirement ranch,
every mile of the way paved with torn
and mutilated bodies. But he will be flying

too high to see them. One hears
that he always sleeps well at night.
Not as well as the dead, of course,
but well enough, well enough.

What there is is a huge mess over there. Iraq has been fighting since time began so many differant tribes. There are so many insurgents we will never be able to beat this ourselves. We need to make a deal with Syria let Bush get off his high horse and realize brute force will not win this thing. A country like Irag can not run on a democracy. Sad to say you need a dictator for control of all those differant tribes that hate each other and us. If will stay we will be there forever if we leave the strongest insurgents at the time will control the country and the oil fields and us. Sad to say Saddam left in power had the whole region in check. Iran and Syria were afraid of him. Now with saddam gone the insurgents have the green light. The whole promblem blows up in our face as usual.

The problem the US faces now is that if we turn tail and retreat the consequences are horrible. If you think we have enough problems with Homeland security...just wait til we retreat from IRAQ. Every terrorist group bent on destroying us will gain 10X confidence and come beating down our doors in droves. The problem lies in Bush vs. Congress and now Congress will get to push its weight around. Unfortunately the loser's of this huge political "P!$$ing contest" will be the troops.

I think its pointless. Men and Women fighting for a country that isn't free any more. That there is no more freedom of speech. Yes I know that I live in this country also. But if I had my chose I would live in a different country. But because I have children that need to see their father I wont go. LOL. If you look at it in the way that they wanted us to come over there and kill more of our men. Why didn't we just ignore what happened that day, we wouldn't be in Iraq today. Just plan pointless. Bush is only finishing what his father started thats all. He hasn't done us any good in the years that he's been in office.

What I see, is our country, and its fighting men, and women,...being lied to, and thrown into the middle of a quagmire,...at a Presidents whim.

Our nation is being fleeced by the people that have sworn an oath to protect, and preserve, our freedoms, Constituional, and Civil rights.

When we have a right, and just cause, to protect our country, our national intrest,...I believe we should support our leaders, our troops 100%.

But when we are lied to, by our President,....and sent to fight in an illegal war,...its time for some drastic measures,...impeachment for both Bush, and Cheany...

I read editorials that read like the Sunday Comics,...only it isnt funny,.....stuff like,...

Bush tries to convince world no plans for Iran war.

REPEAT OF 2003?
Democrats say they fear a repeat of 2002 and 2003, when Bush made a case for war against Iraq based on weapons of mass destruction that were never found.

"That's how we got into the mess in Iraq. That's why some of us supported those resolutions because of doctored information. So I'm very skeptical based on recent past history about this administration leading us in that direction," Connecticut Democratic Sen. Christopher Dodd (news, bio, voting record), a presidential hopeful, said on CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday.

When Bush hears arguments like that, he sees a political attack from Democrats who want their party to claim the White House in 2008.

"Skeptical?"....If the SOB's lied to us before,...then they lost our Trust !!!!

Veterans face consecutive budget cuts

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration plans to cut funding for veterans' health care two years from now — even as badly wounded troops returning from Iraq could overwhelm the system.

Im a Vet,...I keep hearing about proposed budget cut for Veterans,..you keep taking away the incentive to join the Military,..and pretty soon you wont have a Military,..you keep lieing to us,...and people wont even fight if a draft is ordered!
You keep cutting funding for the VETS,..and they will demand your azz be thrown out of office.

The Build-a-War Workshop

Published: February 10, 2007

It took far too long, but a report by the Pentagon inspector general has finally confirmed that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s do-it-yourself intelligence office cooked up a link between Iraq and Al Qaeda to help justify an unjustifiable war.

The report said the team headed by Douglas Feith, under secretary of defense for policy, developed “alternative” assessments of intelligence on Iraq that contradicted the intelligence community and drew conclusions “that were not supported by the available intelligence.” Mr. Feith certainly knew the Central Intelligence Agency would cry foul, so he hid his findings from the C.I.A. Then Vice President****Cheney used them as proof of cloak-and-dagger meetings that never happened, long-term conspiracies between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden that didn’t exist, and — most unforgivable — “possible Iraqi coordination” on the 9/11 attacks, which no serious intelligence analyst believed

Oh Gawd,...here we go,....IRAN is next ! As if the problem in IRAQ isnt bad enough,....now their discussing drawing IRAN into the mess.

Want to support the troops ? Share their sacrifice.

http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0209/p09s01-coop.html

As in the 1940s, US citizens should shoulder relatively minimal civilian costs and inconveniences.

By Roger K. Miller

Why are we Americans not asked – or told – to pay higher prices for gasoline now in order to reduce or even eliminate gasoline's necessity later? Or to drive more fuel-efficient vehicles? Or to pay for this war now, and not put the sacrifice of paying down the debt on a later generation? Or to immediately begin funding the mounting medical costs of our returning wounded veterans?

I cannot believe this mans view,.....as if we arent supporting our troops enough,...he wants to make us pay higher prices at the gas pump !,...."not asked -TOLD ! ! ! !

Arent we paying too much at the gas pump already ?????(among other things)

How can you ask ,..or tell us we need to pay more for gas to support our troops ????

What a MORON !

When EXON/MOBILE,...can post a $47 BILLION profit,...for just one quarter,..of their fisical year,.....Maybe they NEED TO START PAYING FOR THE WAR ! ! ! !

After all,.....everyone says the real reason were at war with IRAQ,..is the OIL ! ! !

Why not let BUSH, and all the MAJOR OIL COMPANIES PAY FOR THE WAR ????????

Oh yeah,...and let Roger K. Miller pay for it too...Maybe if they need a lot of HOT AIR, Mr Miller can donate some of his !

Then tell all the returning vets,...SORRY,....We cut funding for the VA Hospitols, and cant afford to take care of your medical problems, due to the IRAQ WAR, that you so bravely fought in,......Maybe we can squeeze you in after the IRAN war......

NEXT PLEASE !

I cannot believe some of you posters, and your views.

Do you live in a cave, and havent heard that Bush & Cheany cooked up this scam, to invade, and go to war with Iraq,....

Bush is continuing his daddys lil war,..."What a Nice BOY !"

And our involvement has nothing to do with freedom,...are you crazy ?

WE WERE LIED TO,...LIED TO,...LIED TOO !!!!!!

The Sunnis, and sheYikes, have been fueding for years,...NOT OUR PROBLEM !

As 2eyes2ears sumed it up pretty good,....our involvement will only make matters worse.

And "Doug",...

You The Man !....

Your lil video clip should show everyone that Sadam,..(and Osama),...were CIA assets,..We placed them in power, we supplied the guns, munitions,...and the CHEMICALS,..that later we went in and cried they had WMD, and were useing CHEMICAL warfare,...

Well,...DUH !!!!!,....We aught to know,....we supplied them.

men-behaving-badly,...."If the US leaves thing unfinished",..(you forgot the "s", after thing),.....there was no reason to "Start",..let alone "Finish" anything.

MsIndependent1,...awwwww gawd,..your so bright, and witty ! (not)

You people go watch the video that "DouglasInMotown" supplied for you,...at

http://www.bushflash.com/thanks.html

to remove any doubt about Saddam,...

Do a search,...look some of this stuff up yourselves.

You are so blind,....worried about leaving a job unfinished.....

What was our JOB ??????

Anyone of you even remember ???????

The only this we did,..was "capture" Saddam,...whoop de doo

The we were supposed to hold elections,...after so many decisions not to,.....we decide to place people in POWER,....

Just like,...Guess Who ????????

"SADDAM" !!!!!!

Why dont you look up the beginnings of this conflict,...and see that we played both sides in the Gulf War,...we supplied Iraq, with chemicals to use against Iran,....then went in and cried "Foul" so we could get involved,...because of the OIL !!!!

The US, and OIL COMPANIES...have a major intrest in Iraq,....and want a firm grip on the future of their intrest,...do you really think ole bush really gives a f*ck if our men are dieing over there??????

He could care less,....as long as he, and his friends have anything to say,....we are stuck in a no win situation, till congress witholds funding,...and Bush is outta office.

I just cant believe you people !

This war in Iraq is messy, and is costing lives, but this is not 1991 where we had over a million troops in the regular military, a product of the cold war, this is 2007, and our generals need to get a pair of balls and tell the democrats, and repulicans to let them fight the war, yes bush is an idot, but at least he is not afriad to make a commetment and to answer the all out question of mass destruction, they had been found, and reported on cnn on a 2min spot back in nov.....oh and by the way, this war is keeping the terroist away from us, we have not had a single attack or theart against us since this started..

I think this dirty war for oil should end immediately. The war in Iraq was based upon lies and deceit right from the start. The United States should not have started the war and the war should end because it is immoral, illegal, and unjust. The war can never be "won;" there is nothing to "win."

For what it is costing to finance this war for five months we could have a world class single-payer, universal health care system that would have no fees for anyone and include everything cradle to grave.

Every bomb that is dropped in Iraq is a bomb that destroys our own country. Every bullet shot from the rifles of U.S. soldiers will come back to haunt us here at home.

Bush and Cheney should be impreached for starting this war and U.S.troops who are now sitting ducks should be brought home immediately. Democrats should have the moral and political courage to cut all funding for this war that has boosted the profits of Haliburton and and the Blackwater thugs as Americans are returned daily in body bags and the Iraqi people suffer to no end.

George McGovern has put forward a very sensible "Blueprint" for ending the carnage in Iraq--- we should look at his proposal and implement it.

I also want to say that I am opposed to going to war in Iran. Already we are seeing and hearing the same kind of lies from this Bush administration about their reason to go to war with Iran that got us into this quagmire in Iraq. Who died and left the United States the head policeman in the world? It is time to learn to respect other people and resolve disputes through diplomacy that includes the entire world community.

Oh My Gawd,...

Im impressed,...some people can think out side the box, and see thru the fog,...LOL

I agree with all the recent posters,..except for a slight misconception,...but its right, in its own way too,....

oh and by the way, this war is keeping the terroist away from us, we have not had a single attack or theart against us since this started..

Ok,..yes,..and no,...LOL

It isnt keeping the terrorist away from us,....

BUT,..at least now our eyes are open wide, and were addressing the problem !

remember,..our government,..and homeland security,..has stopped, and foiled several attempts, at cells, that were already inside our country, from performing, or finishing their mission(s).

Ok,..still with me ?

Our government,.... homeland security, and Canada,...has stopped terrorist trying to enter the US.......

So our involvement in Iraq,..is moot,....we really need our troops,..here,...in the USA,..to help the fight here,...on our soil, within our own country..

With the right intel,...
and more people to combat against another possable terrorist attempt,
we hopefully can prevent any more .

And yes,...if we were to of put all the moneys we've spent, back into our own coffers,...since the Gulf War/Opperation Desert Storm,...

We could balance the budget,..we could have a great Health Care system,....and the best schools in the world,.....

But do you think that will ever happen ????

Never !!!

As long as we have greedy self serving politicans in office, doing the things the same way its been done in the past,..were just digging the hole were in deeper, and deeper, and deeper, and..........

I was wondering -- is there anyone out there who doesn't think it's over?

I don't mean why we should have gone there/not gone there -- nothing about the reasoning that went into the decisions to invade -- I mean right now, is it over? Is there any chance of obtaining our political goal?

You know I would hate to be a soldier over there right now. Not only do they have to deal with being far from home, seeing their friends and "family" being killed, and fighting for another country, they are also taking the criticism about it. There are so many people that don't agree with this that if I was there it would almost seem as if I fighting a useless war. Whether we believe in it or not, we need to stop focusing all of our attention on the downside of this. Whether we believe in it or not, we need to stop blaming everyone else and start focusing on our troops other than complain. Yes, we may not of had any right to go there, but with this invasion of their country we took a man who was brutally killing hundreds and hundreds of people and torturing them everyday. With all this talk about not supporting the war, if I was there I would feel that I was doing a pointless job. Whether you believe in this or not, we are there. We cannot pull out now, it will desecrate our whole purpose and everything we have faught for this far. If it wasn't for our great-great grand-fathers, great grand-fathers, and other family members fighting in a WAR we wouldn't have our freedom and choice not to support this war. There are two people that would die to save us, Jesus Christ and an American Soldier.

... Whether you believe in this or not, we are there. We cannot pull out now; it will desecrate our whole purpose and everything we have fought for this far. ...

We have two choices:
We can pull out now, acknowledging that the 30,000 American casualties to date have been in vain, or
We can pull out later, causing 60,000 American casualties in vain. Or more.
Which seems like the better option?

It's time we stopped lying to our troops and to ourselves and bring them home NOW. They're not dying for us and they never were; they're dying for Haliburton, Bechtel and Exxon.

There is no "winning" or "losing" this "war". There's not even a clear definition of what "winning" looks like. Chaos is all there is, and chaos is the whole point: destabilize the region to prevent anybody else from laying claim to the oil.

And on that note, it's a rousing success.

American soldiers, contractors and mercenaries are doing a pointless job. Doubtful as it is that they were ever fighting for our liberty or safety, only the utterly clueless could possibly believe the Bush-league necrocons now, when they say that's what our armed forces are doing now. Quite the opposite: the "war" and "national security" are being used as convenient excuses to bring an iron curtain down around America and undermine out freedoms.

Go back and watch the historical slideshow on Hussein again: http://www.bushflash.com/thanks.html

Amen Doug,

Amen.

Its way past time,...to open our eyes, and see that its always been about the oil,....

No matter how many of you willy ninnys keep saying it aint about the oil......it is.

If the people that believe it isnt about the oil, would spend some time doing research on the Gulf War/Operation Desert Storm,....just look at the wikipedia search results,....its all there to see.

The Chinese were to of got the majority of the oil benifits,.....Saddam was stopping and starting oil production, and causeing a major problem,.....and,...Saddam was demanding payment in Euro's,....instead of US Currency.

The US of A wasnt about to stand for that,...hence,..the "Liberation" of Iraq,.....yeah ,...right.

Im as Patriotic as the next American,.....but what I see being done to America,...by the people sworn to uphold it Laws, and Constituitional Rights,...makes me sick.

Im ashamed to admit our president comes from the United States,.....let alone Texas,...poor Dixie Chicks got slammed for being honest,....I dont care where she said it. People all around the world here news differently,....Honestly,....it isnt covered up and kept hush hush like it is here at home,......ever wonder why ?

Oh yeah,...I forgot something,....

Well of course we always going to hear that its not about the oil,....but do your reasearch,...and you will find the truth.

#1,....Saddam was stopping and starting the oil supply,..Needlessly,...and creating too much of an up and down cost flucuation,...making prices rise and fall,....and LOSEING MONEY for the USA.

Or should I say ,...loseing money for the Oil Companies,

#2,...Saddam was demanding payment in EURO's,...instead od US CURRENCY,...the USA would never stand for that.

#3,...Saddam,....had already promised the majority of the oil supply from the oil fields,...to CHINA,.....the USA would NEVER stand for that.

#4,....We are never going to get a break at the gas pump,...as far as prices go,...as long as we keep paying the high cost,....and not demand that something be done,.....

Look at EXON/MOBILE,.....posted a $47 BILLION DOLLAR PROFIT,....for a quarter of the year,...just for a quarter,....3 months,.....$47 BILLION DOLLAR PROFIT,...for 3 months ??????

Do you think "They" are sticking it to us, the consumer ???????

Why, ????? Because,..... "WE THE PEOPLE",...have become numb, and comfortable, to being screwed,....and lied to.

The cost of gas will continue to rise,...as long as we dont bytch,..and raise H#ll,...as long as there is the ability to get rich off of the oil,...the prices arew NEVER gonna come down.

Instead,....they will continue to go up,...due to what ever lie they decide to feed us next time.

And,....You can take that to the bank.

Originally, with the intelligence that EVERYONE had, it was probably a good idea. Who knew that those people are a bunch of lunatics that have been cutting each others heads off for hundreds of years, and will continue to do so for hundreds more.. I would rather take it to the enemy in their land than in ours. Does anyone remember September 11th? Too many people have forgotten, and somehow in their little minds think that if we leave them alone everything will be fine. "Yeah Right" Muslims are on a mission to destroy the infidels, which means anyone who doesn't believe as they do. Read the Koran. Remember you could be speaking German or Japanese.

The wars we wage need to be fought at times, But in losing lives of innocent folks just trying to make a difference, we lose. When tyranical rule is going on somewhere else, our country SAVES lives, losing them in the process. I want to fight. I want to win, I want the war to end. So famillies may be at peace. God Bless our soldiers, God Bless our country, and God Help those who oppose Him in the process of making foolish decisions. Articulation of words is easy, Putting them in a form that any can understand after a few moments, that is a gift. Thank You God........BRING THEM HOME ALIVE. FEED THEM WELL, AND GIVE THEM PEACE, ASSURANCE, AND LOVE THAT ONLY YOU MAY PROVIDE. Gratitude must always come first. Among all the turmoil, the hatred, the ill-will, the lack of understanding.................................Love us, Forgive us, and Please, just for a moment.................................................................grant the world a moment to remember those who already came home to you because of a multitude of things only a few men have control over.
