Another F'ING VIETNAM....remember pre-post, Kennedy was a democrat....55,000 men my age died there, could that possibly be why so many women my age are single?....not only are our sons, brothers, and friends over there fighting and dying, half of their people are here running 3/4 of small business in metropolitan U.S.A...so the way I look at it, our government is doing enough for them already, stateside....my son was there 10 years ago (back home safely, thank you lord), how long does it take?...10 years is not suffcient to figure things out eh?....like I said, another F'ING VIETNAM

I want it over as well and the killing of our American soldiers to stop, but my biggest concern is that pulling our troops out at this time would leave them unable to keep others (similar to or worse than Hussein) from taking over. I don't want all of our American soldiers that have already given the ultimate sacrifice (their lives) for the cause to have died for nothing.

2uneek really spelled it out well, and many more of you have put just as much humanity to this Iraq war.

My son was in the 1st Armored Div. the first time they extended the stay of troops. 16.5 months straight! Ugh! He is now re-enlisted and replacing a group that is now heading to Iraq. I'm guessing until his turn comes up again.

War is mean and ugly politics. A way of power and control struggles between a body of land and a few neanderthals for better or worse. Only the people embedded in the plans know the true reasons why. I hope they are valid reasons even if I am not aware of them.

There is also media problems. I realize that people will tune in over devastation and that there will be big ratings for publicized reports about it all. What would be a great additive is televising the PROGRESS of our choice to oust Saddam and help start a democracy in Iraq. There is plenty of good happening in Iraq. The markets are open for business, new business abounds, women are smiling and children (boys AND girls)are attending school.

I would like it if they would show how our soldiers are helping to solidify a connection by some of the things they do for Iraqui people. Rebuilding homes, building furniture, getting the plumbing and electrical flowing at a new phenomenal rate. People can now make phone calls and buy cell phones where they couldn't before....

What I think? I think actions in Iraq should be reported fairly. Also- Osama Bin Laden may not be the culprit but sure is getting lots of publicity and being allowed to run his own terrorism ad! So let's go find the diabetic 6'4" troublemaker and televise his swift trial.

While doing Osama, get lots more troops in Iraq to hurry up the progress and hand over Iraq to it's people a little bit faster.....

Army desertion rate highest since 1980

War is mean and ugly politics

Wow,.....I guess thats why this "Popular War" has caused the highest desertion rate in almost 30 years.

The longer this fiacso has lasted,..the less popular it becomes,...except from the politicians point of view,....cause their Sons and Daughters arent coming home in Body Bags !

Oh yeah,...I see Bush just keeps hitting all time lows too.

I would say that I am against involvement in any war by our country unless it directly involves us. I dont think we are the "worlds protector" and should be sending our troops in to solve someone else's problems....NOW...having said that, 9/11 directly involved us, so yes, we need to be there, however, I am sick of the "political correctness" attitude that our leadership seems to follow......scared to death of public opinion because of the possibility of ruining their chances for re-election. If we are going to send our troops in harms way, then do it with the intent of winning that war as quickly as possible........

I feel if we worried about our own Country as much as we worry about the rest of the world the USA would be a better place to live and work.

That region of the world has been in conflict for over 2000 years no amount of UN help is going to solve that. I vote to pull our troops out of there...

I agree,...and worry who will be in power to rule Iraq, after we pull out, but Id rather see our troops here at home, and protect our Borders, and not worry about Iraq anymore.

I remember a "kareses" from the Prodigy Michigan Room,..whos views sound closely related,..is that You?

Our Troops,..and our Country,.....need the right Leadership, in order for our Nation to remain strong,...right now,...we are in a sad state of affares,...due to bad leadership,...bad judgement,...and a bad economy.

The war in Iraq,...was,..has been,...and still is,...over the control of Oil,.....or should I say,....the lack of control of Oil.

Our nations leaders, has placed our troops lives in jepordy,..all because of the Big Oil Companies GREED !
