| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/2/2008 8:43:37 PM | NameGame and Cocy come up with some facts or something to debate on or take your foot-stomping tantrums elsewhere. Geeze, do you not take into consideration you've been invited to debate, and ALL we've heard is bias backed by insults every time .. too many times - amounting to little as usual???
Again, tell us why you think your candidate of choice has better stances on the issues and predictably you've ignored the challenge to debate or discuss REAL political issues or the crisises this country and we the people are facing. Is it that you are unaware? WTF. This isn't about a popularity issue - although it appears the only train of thought coming from you both.
Besides the current "war on terrorism" and our declining paper dollar, what are your stances and/or opinions: The Real ID? Patriot Act? Fusion Centers? Fema Camps? The growing surveillance industry? Possible war with Iran? Russia's take on it? USA now importers as opposed to exporters? The loss of Habeus Corpus? The growing contracted militias? Illegal wiretapping? Amnesty for the companies providing the services? The debt we are leaving our children? The assault on free speech? Nafta? Govt secrecy?
I mean come on, the list is endless ... pick something and run with it. They are all VERY REAL issues and fortunately Ron Paul has addressed them .. and I would guess your candidates of choice have done the same? Shiat or get off the pot.

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/2/2008 9:26:27 PM | Hmmm...facts.
Let's see:
1) Ron Paul has failed to ignite much interest in his campaign. 2) The Gold Standard is outdated economic policy that has been largely discredited by the majority of the economic community. 3) The Real ID is proving to be the unworkable fiasco that it was likely going to be. And it has yet to be proven anymore of a threat than a SS card. 4) The Patriot Act, while violating some freedoms currently is not likely to remain a law w/ many teeth as it not produced any evidence of it's efficacy in fighting terrorism. And it's currently facing a number of court challenges. 5) FEMA camps? Ok...people left homeless by disasters now have a place to stay. They can come or go as they please which makes the long term existence of the camps a matter of choice rather than necessity. 6) Barring any unforeseen attack on the US or its interests, war w/ Iran is a near impossibility since the CIA report showing their lack of progress in developing a nuclear weapon. 7) Russia, even enriched by new oil wealth, has far too many internal issues to make adventuring outside their own country worthwhile. Their opinion on our conflicts w/ Iran wouldn't rise to level of interest any time soon. 8) USA now importers? And...? Unless Americans start saving and stop buying...this trend will only continue. Not much a president can do about that other than encourage saving. 9) Government secrecy has been and always will be a problem. Constant vigilance is the only solution to that dilemma. 10) The debt. That's a serious issues that I'm sure we can all agree upon. However, until people start saving and stop spending and the government raises taxes and curtails its own spending , we'll be stuck w/ debt for a long to to come.
oneblend.
Ron Paul may well have some valid ideas. However, packaging them as solutions to a "vast conspiracy" makes the message and messenger look...frankly,kooky. And nobody is going to elect somebody they think is crazy...regardless of how good their ideas sound.
If Ron Paul followers spent more energy getting a comprehensive, concise program of his ideas out to the public and spent less time complaining of "media blackouts" and conspiracies, his campaign would probably attract more than the single-digit levels of interest that it has.
No serious candidate is going to pick up his "banner" if his name and organization are equated w/ irrational statements and fringe political and economic beliefs.
|
| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/3/2008 8:54:44 AM | Let's see:
1) Ron Paul has failed to ignite much interest in his campaign.
This is bogus, he set a record for the most money raised in a 24hr period, are you on glue?
He has more people supporting him, the others have corporations and lobby groups handing them money in exchange for consideration (which is always met) for their interests which generally go against what is best for the majority of people.
2) The Gold Standard is outdated economic policy that has been largely discredited by the majority of the economic community.
Listen to Alan Greenspan, your God of Fiat money who knows that GOLD is better to hold for long term investment then fiat money, to say it isn't is to be truly ignorant, Gold is now worth close to $1,000/oz, fiat money is a scam. Gold was $35.00/oz not to long ago, what does this tell you? Man, I can not argue with a fool.
Debt as money is criminal, period, it robs from the poor and allows the politicians to print it up at their leisure which undermines the value of the fake money in the economy, stealing from those on pensions and limited incomes, those who live month to month who can not buy gold/silver to protect their wealth which is limited but all the same, inflation insures they have no savings.
Those economic experts you speak of are similar to recommending that we listen to the wolves on how to guard the hens from them, you are seriously whacked my friend and have absolutely no understanding of monetary principles and the centralized banking scam.
3) The Real ID is proving to be the unworkable fiasco that it was likely going to be. And it has yet to be proven anymore of a threat than a SS card.
Here you go again, let the wolves care for the hens and sheep, you are on glue and in denial of what is transpiring.
4) The Patriot Act, while violating some freedoms currently is not likely to remain a law w/ many teeth as it not produced any evidence of it's efficacy in fighting terrorism.
Terrorism is a scam. Read War is a Racket by a Marine General, like I said, learn truth, do not tell us what the wolves say about protecting the hens and sheep.
5) FEMA camps? Ok...people left homeless by disasters now have a place to stay. They can come or go as they please which makes the long term existence of the camps a matter of choice rather than necessity.
Fema did great during Katrina didn't they? The corp owned army, BlackWater, was looting so as the merchants/corporate employers could get insurance, you make me and so many laugh. Any other fairy-tales and bogeymen you are afraid of?
You have more to fear from your local police and doctors then terrorists but then again, the wolves know what is best for the hens.
6) Barring any unforeseen attack on the US or its interests, war w/ Iran is a near impossibility since the CIA report showing their lack of progress in developing a nuclear weapon.
Ah, was the attack on the simple people of Iraq qualified with truth about the terrorist threat those who live in the desert pose with no airplanes, no navy? I will tell you something cocyus, war is generally made to be sustained and reap financial havoc on a nation or two or more.
Also, if 9/11 was not a false flag operation, it is a unique event as WWI, WWII, Vietnam and any of the other 50 or so invasions and bombing attacks the neocons and the elites have managed to get away over the past 50 or 60 years with have been scams meant to financially weaker the country and the people. Do you really believe that the global bankers have a special place in their hearts for US citizens who only wish to get paid for nothing and grow fat and lazy, worshiping plastic merchandise and plastic people? They laugh at you all for being so ignorant and allowing their to usurp you.
7) Russia, even enriched by new oil wealth, has far too many internal issues to make adventuring outside their own country worthwhile. Their opinion on our conflicts w/ Iran wouldn't rise to level of interest any time soon.
Here as usual, you are wrong again. Russia has finally expelled those who work in partnership with the CFR, Bilderbergers and so on. They are not going to play ball with the most insane and hate filled people of this planet. What we have to fear is more associated with the foreign policy these idiots dictate to the peons they bribe.blackmail and outright own, they are globalist minds and care only for the wealth and power, understand this and you may increase your IQ a bit.
8) USA now importers? And...? Unless Americans start saving and stop buying...this trend will only continue. Not much a president can do about that other than encourage saving.
Saving fiat money?
You give advice that can ruin people, once again, do you sniff glue? Save money!!
Hell no, get rid of it, get gold/silver and buy food, store water if you want to be safe in the future.
The corporate grown meat (yes they are starting to clone beef), the water, the earth and the air are being polluted at a high rate and this is done with an agenda in mind so as to completely control food distribution.
Control the energy, the food and the money system, you control the people. Henry Kissinger is likely a hero of yours and he is a globalist with no integrity at all for people, he is an elitist scum bag who has reaped more wealth at the expense of the innocent then many of his fellow criminal cohorts.
Did you know that JD Rockefeller made the equivalent of 1.3 trillion dollars from WW I? To him, competition is sin, he likes monopolies, but only if he and his cohorts control them, research the life of this sick person and maybe you will see what truly lies in the hearts of the elites, to them, you and me and all others are cattle and they are the ranchers.
9) Government secrecy has been and always will be a problem. Constant vigilance is the only solution to that dilemma.
But to add to this fact, it is imperative that those in office have integrity to the people, not to corporations and others who provide material and superficial advantages for those they own. Listen to JFK's speech, oh yeah, thats right, you think is a kook, a tin foil hat wearer.
Nothing point, there are Black Muslim radicals who support Obama, so I guess everyone who supports Obama is a sympathizer of these people who the CIA calls the greatest threat to our freedom and wealth as they hate us for our freedom and our wealth. Forst off, what freedom? Secondly, what wealth, it is gone, the debt is out of control and can never be lowered as the fed keeps printing more of it with debt to begin with, you do not understand that.
10) The debt. That's a serious issues that I'm sure we can all agree upon. However, until people start saving and stop spending and the government raises taxes and curtails its own spending , we'll be stuck w/ debt for a long to to come.
Fiat money is based upon debt, simply put fiat money is a crime. Please watch Fiat Empire, maybe you will learn something. You seem like a good person as not all that you spew is BS but a lot of it is in tune with Fox and the elite owned puppets.
Your understanding of money is not very good. Silver, Gold or even spices are a better then fiat money as a means to exchange. You truly make me and many laugh when you applaud the fiat money scam.
Do you look at the indexes at all?
Do you understand what inflation is and where it comes from? Because it seems to me that you think inflation is a good thing when in truth, it is theft and the central banking and IRS is nothing more then a criminal cabal.
These people need to be taken out, they have scammed for far to long and the jig is truly up except for the few people out there who still think that the money is backed by something of value, it isn't, it is an opinion and everyday the opinion on the worth is lowered.
You save money in the bank for retirement, you lose big time. Right now is silver time, it will increase rather nicely over the coming months. You keep saving fiat bills, I will buy silver and gold and let's see has has more wealth in a few months. In close cocytus, learn, do not listen to the wolves, you are even becoming a shill for them telling people to save money, that is ludicrous, your are telling people that paper receipts are more valuable then precious metals and commodities.
I have another message for you later today, especially for you and namegame2, I will also challenge you on any issue, you can provide what Fox and the bankers say and I will provide what the truth is, how does that sound? You can show people how much wiser it is to have paper then metal. Man, you guys and your continuing attempts to belittle people is amazing, you constantly show yourselves as being unaware of the simplest of truths.
ps. Dollar fell some more today, watch CitiGroup tumble some more as well, they love your fiat money as well, I truly hope you are not a financial industry worker as you have about as much understanding of the market and money as most of them, your clients would be heading for the poor house in a hurry. But maybe they could be owning their own Britney CD collection, thats going to appreciate in value just like your fiat money, wake up my friend.
No ill intent intended, I am only replying to your truly uninformed messages, I hope people are waking up and watching the market plunge, it is not the time to be one who is cash rich, you get less wealthier each day, much like cocyus.

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/3/2008 9:39:05 AM | 1) Ron Paul has failed to ignite much interest in his campaign.
Ron Paul has set the internet on fire,..raised more money in a day, than anyone in history.
2) The Gold Standard is outdated economic policy that has been largely discredited by the majority of the economic community
The Gold Standard ensured the value of the US Dollar, and it remained strong, untill our country was taken off the Gold Standard,..the value of the Dollar has went down hill every since.
3) The Real ID is proving to be the unworkable fiasco that it was likely going to be. And it has yet to be proven anymore of a threat than a SS card.
Just another move by our fearless leaders, to show that their so afraid of us, they want another means of controling us, and our ability to deal freely in the commerce market on a one on one basis,...the Real ID card is just another way to keep tabs on us, and more of a paper trail left behind to lead them to our door, in case we talk about such things as "FREEDOM" or "CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS"
4) The Patriot Act, while violating some freedoms currently is not likely to remain a law w/ many teeth as it not produced any evidence of it's efficacy in fighting terrorism. And it's currently facing a number of court challenges.
Just another attempt at reducing our individual freedoma, and liberties,..and one step closer to "THEIR GOALS", of keep us under close scrunity.
5) FEMA camps? Ok...people left homeless by disasters now have a place to stay. They can come or go as they please which makes the long term existence of the camps a matter of choice rather than necessity.
You must have not even bothered to do any research into the many available videos that show the "Concentration Camp's" ,...that are already set up across the nation, to house,.... "Enemies of The State",.... or "Constitunational Supports",....or,...."Suspects" (Till proven innocent)
6) Barring any unforeseen attack on the US or its interests, war w/ Iran is a near impossibility since the CIA report showing their lack of progress in developing a nuclear weapon.
Oh,..you mean,..."Like Iraq" ???????
Jump to #10,....
10) The debt. That's a serious issues that I'm sure we can all agree upon. However, until people start saving and stop spending and the government raises taxes and curtails its own spending , we'll be stuck w/ debt for a long to to come.
Yes we do agree that the debt that this nation is faceing is quite a disaster,..and will be hard to reign in,...seeing as how far it has escalated.
But,.....our economy,..yours and mine,...isnt going to get any better by,.........
the government raises taxes
But Yes,..I agree,...that the government needs to,....
curtails its own spending
Thats exactly what needs to be done,...downsize big government,...streamline,..... cut spending,...reduce foreign aid,...and lets concintrate on helping our own country, thats on the brink of collaspe,.....unless someone steps in and starts making sound choices.
You,....are a smart man,....everyone here can see that,...your very well informed,..and stand by your opinion,...which is great,.....
Just try to see that everyone that supports RON PAUL is not a conspiracy kook,.......
Sure,...there are a lot of them out there,..and yes,..they do cast a negitive shadow,....
But,...if,...YOU,....would do some in depth research,...with an open mind,.....you will see that as far as things are going,....its pretty much "business as useual",..as far as Hillery,..or Obama is concerned,......its the same old story thats been repeated often enough, that we have grown accustomed to it,...and yes,.....even believe it.
But when a man such as Ron Paul comes along, talking about how are freedoms, and individual liberties and rights are slowely being taken away,.......we fail to pay heed,.....because it happens so slowely, ande we are so accustome to it,...that we dont see it as a threat,........
So what if we loose a few Liberties,...as long as we feel safe ?
RON PAUL,..speaks the truth,...and people poo poo him,....or are scared to death of him, and what he represents,......Restoring America,....its Freedoms,..and the Constitution.
The Powers that be,.....think they know whats best for us,......and they want the power to decide for us,.........reguardles how we feel.
Is that the way the majority of Americans feel ?
I like it better,.....knowing that "We The People",.....have the ability, and right, to protest against the "Abuse of Power",........
Dont you ? | |

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/3/2008 10:06:39 AM | Wow...not one.....but TWO poorly spelled...poorly researched rants in response to my posting. What are the odds?
Let's see:
1) What successful economy uses the Gold Standard today? 2) Where are all of these FEMA camps at? Got any pictures? Got any people who have been detained? If you know about these "secret" camps...they aren't that "secret"...are they?
3) What's the deal w/ all of the personal attacks?
Are you unable to prove your questionable lines of logic w/o resorting to asking if I'm using drugs?
Since none of the items that are being espoused (economic collapse, tyranny, etc) have ever occurred in this country....how would ANY leader in opposition to them handle them? W/O the support of the people? Which, like it or not, Ron Paul apparently doesn't seem to have.
And saying he has "wide Internet" support is like saying a tiny fraction of the voting public supports him. Which is what the Internet represents.

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/3/2008 11:16:18 AM | @cocyus, I never attacked you cocyus, I may have said you are ignorant of truth and used a few terms that may not be so tactful but when arguing a point and stance from where you sit right now, you are not making nor winning any points.
People who have provided links and information prior and you never ventured to read nor witness. This is evident in that you are still in the same stance in your views which is ignorant of fact.
Go to wiki and search Gold Backed Currency, you will learn of many new digital currencies which are backed by gold and silver, go to the Liberty Dollar website, this is the US company, a mint, which the federal reserve agents and the IRS tried to steal the gold and silver reserves of people of the US. Realize, the fed is a private company and also, many employees have left the IRS because they are aware of the fraud they are getting away with upon the US people. These are the ones who promote fiat money and inflation which is essentially counterfeiting their IOU paper/receipts which are printed instantly with debt.
Go to Youtube, search Secret FEMA Camps, you will see hundreds of videos I am sure.
Let's refresh what you imply once again.
You seem to imply a lot on others, so we will offer up the same upon you.
You say Ron Paul has no support where it counts, I agree, the ignorant do not know anything or what they do know is what the elites want them to think about him as is attested by the way they present him and the limited exposure he receives. I can show you a video with a Fox executive telling the camera men, at a local restaurant, to make sure he does not get any Ron Paul supporters in the shot, isn't that nice, fair and balanced. These people are traitors to the people and the nation.
Now your stance is that those who support Ron Paul are kooks, this is another attack by you on me and many more people including Google employees, the members of armed forces and the majority of people who are computer literate. In other words, you share the same mindset as those who are computer illiterate, the ignorant.
You seem to believe that you and the others who are less informed, know who should serve the nation as commander and chief of those who make up the forces. You must admit, this is what you state, it is your stance as, the records and facts show that Ron Paul leads in donations from the troops. So you insult all these brave people and more and ask why you are getting attacked by being called out on your ignorance of facts, you are puzzled. You poke a dog with a stick so as to tell others it is vicious, get real.
You believe and maintain a stance that those who are unaware of many of the facts and truths about Ron Paul's platform, being those who are not internet savvy, have arrived at a better understanding of Ron Paul then those who are Internet savvy. By definition, you are stating that those who are ignorant are better informed, this is where all your rhetoric and argument loses touch with reality.
I contend that many persons who are truly informed about all of the candidates and whom are not manipulated through biased reporting sources, would firstly support Ron Paul. However, to avoid this majority support for one that is not playing the rig game, the powers that be must insure that the majority of people are less informed and see the candidate that is not preferred as representative of the people as being a kook or representative of kooks. In reviewing your posts and "words of wisdom" related to your accolades for fiat money, it is no wonder that you keep repeating the same rhetoric which implies that the ignorant are more informed then those in the know.
You actually believe that ignorant people are best to decide who is commander in chief of the military forces then those who serve them? Man, you are not all there. I call people like you, ELITE-TARDS.
Once again, I am not trying to be ill towards you, you, as always, are the one spewing childish insults and this shows what you are about. Being called ignorant is not offensive unless you are ignorant on all things, it merely states you are lacking facts in a topic or area not mental faculties. Many people have provided much info for you and many places to find it but you resist learning the truth and accepting the facts about the corrupt money system.
Most who do take the time to actually learn truth end up supporting Ron Paul and ultimately, themselves and their neighbors and future generations.
Unfortunately we still have a vast majority of people who feel that time and purpose is meant to serve them up leisure and entertainment, amusement and gadgets in lieu of freedom, liberty and opportunity for the future, security for their children and their children;s children. Those who you are aligned with feel that NOW is more important then the future and that their being protected while they are being amused and entertained is more important then future lives and the economy of the nation. These are the people who your candidate/s want to reach and they do it through the help of the corporate media which is owned outright by the elites of society. I guess Rupert knows who should be commander in chief of the armed forces, more so then those who serve.
Good luck, I can not argue with you as you have nothing but rhetoric and insult and statements that show you as a fool. Maybe you are just ignorant but then again, you try so hard to get under people's skin. like poking a dog to try and say it is vicious. Good look in your baiting game.
This is a very popular thread, many views, much more then the McCain for Dictator or Huckebee is the one threads but then again, the Internet savvy already know that Hillary/Obama/McCain or whoever, except Ron Paul, is representative of one and the same, the rich and the corrupted.

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/3/2008 11:27:38 AM | | Im an active RP supporter who can digest the reality of what were up against. What we are up against is pure ignorance. Not that people are stupid so to say, but ignorant of facts. They have been sold so many lies for so long that the truth is just too much for them to take. The federal government is the worst management team to ever exist and still be in buisness. It is so dumbfounding you almost wanna just shake your next door neighbor out of his hypnosis. The only way we will learn is through pain. People look to the government for leadership ,when it is they who should be looking to us for the leadership. Can you imagine them trying to manage health care! LOL LOL LOL LOL look how well they are doing with Social Security. And this race just pulls the cover off some hard real facts. Alot of owmen like Billary soley because she says warm fuzzies about healthcare and children, blacks like Obama, because he is black and gives descent speeches about change. They also live under some idea that the federal government is supposed to be involved in the economy? Where we they given that power? If these people vote for anyone but Ron Paul, they will wake up 4 years from now to see that if nothing changes, nothing changes. Im praying for a serious bread line depression. Anything to back these peoples head out of their you know what. Unbelivable isnt it? | |

Is it that you are unaware? WTF. This isn't about a popularity issue - although it appears the only train of thought coming from you both.
I think you misunderstand the point. I don't have a candidate of choice because on the two most important issues to me, Iraq and Illegal Immigration, Paul is the only candidate to reflect my views. If he ran on just those two issues, he might have made a huge impact on this race.
But Paul (or at least his supporters) believe that a bunch of other stuff is just as important, and that if you don't agree with all of it you are part of the conspiracy. I'm not allowed to support Paul, at least until I change some of my beliefs. Let's take your list:
- The Real ID? I am in favor of it. We have to carry around our drivers licenses and a half dozen other pieces of ID anyway, and wind up giving out our ssn's willy-nilly. It's time to get organized with a single card. - Patriot Act? I don't have a big problem with it. I don't think it is abused. - Fusion Centers? I don't know what this means. - Fema Camps? I don't care. - The growing surveillance industry? If you mean things like cameras in ATM booths and public transit, I'm for it. - Possible war with Iran? Depends on why it starts. - Russia's take on it? Russia's agenda under Putin is to create confrontation with the US for domestic gain, so I'm not overly concerned. - USA now importers as opposed to exporters? That is bad. Which candidates are for it? - The loss of Habeus Corpus? I see nothing happening that bothers me. - The growing contracted militias? I see nothing wrong with contracting out protection. The state department has been doing it for decades. Normally, the guards are foreign nationals. Why are you not more troubled by that? My only problems with it are waste and accountability. The latter I see only as a problem unique to Iraq - I havn't heard of any incidents elsewhere. I find the idea that they are a private army (sorry, militia) being primed to take over the US laughable. - Illegal wiretapping? The government should not be doing that. Which candidates are in favor of it? I'm ok with legal wiretapping. - Amnesty for the companies providing the services? Yes, if the government and their lawyers told them that they were acting within their authority. - The debt we are leaving our children? That is bad. Which candidates are for it? - The assault on free speech? What assualt? - Nafta? It has plusses and minuses. - Govt secrecy? Generally against it, but there are places where it is appropriate if overseen correctly (a FISA court, for example).
Do my answers disqualify me from the Paul movement? Successfull movements strive for the big tent: unity on a set of common issues, and room for disagreement on the rest.
|
| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/3/2008 3:24:53 PM | Well, that's a little better .... No one's answers disqualify anyone from the Ron Paul movement. The issue of Ron Pauls popularity - now Cocy, everyone knows people base their opinions mostly by what they hear from big media - that's really not even disputable. Considering RP hasn't gotten the same amount of "unbiased" or "fair and balanced" coverage as other republican candidates, and considering he was labeled by the neocons and media as a crackpot from the onset, he still managed to pull off quite a bit of support and financial backing from those who cared to check him out and agree with most his policies. You don't have to agree w/RP or be a supporter of RP. However, he doesn't deserve being slandered from a public who's been kept from learning about him. Ican tell you through my campaining, 4-5 people out of 6 didn't know who Ron Paul even was. The answer, perhaps is in the USA today article below **** note.
USA today: Their support doesn't show up in public opinion polls, but it's unmatched among presidential candidates in its passion. Paul has attracted a contingent of previously apolitical and even left-leaning Americans like Leslie who support his call to pull all troops out of Iraq immediately and who like his reputation for opposing any legislation not linked to principles already expressed in the Constitution. In the six months since, more than 30,000 people have joined Meetup groups in more than 700 places across the country. Paul's Meetup presence surpassed Dean's in just two months, said Andres Glusman, vice president of Meetup.com. ***** Note that Dr. Paul did not announce his candidacy until March 12, well often many of his opponents, and at the time of the polls, many media outlets did not offer his name as a choice for Republican nominee. During the fourth quarter of 2007, Paul was the most successful Republican fundraiser, bringing in approximately 20 million dollars. He also received the most money from the armed services of any candidate in the 4th quarter.Ron Paul's campaign set two fund raising records: the largest single day donation total among Republican candidates and twice receiving the most money received via the Internet in a single day by any presidential candidate in American history.
Washington Post: Rep. Ron Paul is more popular on Facebook than Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). He's got more friends on MySpace than former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney. His MeetUp groups, with 11,924 members in 279 cities, are the biggest in the Republican field. And his official YouTube videos, including clips of his three debate appearances, have been viewed nearly 1.1 million times -- more than those of any other candidate, Republican or Democrat, except Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).
If he had his way, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Education, among other agencies, would not exist. In his view, the USA Patriot Act, which allows the government to search personal data, including private Internet use, is unconstitutional, and trade deals such as the North American Free Trade Agreement are a threat to American independence.
CCN/ Michael Kraft We have already reported on the media censoring and omitting Ron Paul from its’ coverage. It is very clear and indisputable that mainstream media sources are intentionally removing Ron Paul from their coverage to purposely damage his campaign chances.
We have shown the New York Times, MSNBC and Fox News all doing the exact same thing. In every opportunity or every time Ron Paul shows clear popularity it will fail to make the media. When Ron Paul has a political win like Nevada or raises far more money than any other candidate in either party in the History of our country, it doesn’t even make the news. Here is a video to highlight the USA Today newspaper doing it again. The picture of the candidates with Ron Paul intentionally cut out is another undeniable piece of evidence that this is intentional.
I would hope Mr. Paul would seek legal response to the purposeful actions in the media to suppress his campaign.
Doubters should ask themselves, “is it really possible that the candidate to have the greatest fundraising day in history of our country not even worthy of news?” Is not this and all other fundraising victories a clear sign of popularity despite what the media does not say? The news today says that McCain, Romney, Huckabee and Giuliani are all running out of money from their campaigns. Ron Paul who has out fundraised all of them has huge amounts of donations still at his disposal. The donations Paul receives are in small quantities and from ordinary (non-corporate) donors and still far exceed the money raised by John McCain or Mike Huckabee. Ask yourself why CNN, with the “best political team on television”, and broadcasting the election 12 hours per day has not found time to mention these facts?

Trust me, he has made a HUGE impact!! He may not be getting the votes but he sure is waking a lot of people up to the scams and falsehoods of this corrupt government and it is about time someone took a stand against the elitist neocon establishment.
But Paul (or at least his supporters) believe that a bunch of other stuff is just as important, and that if you don't agree with all of it you are part of the conspiracy. I'm not allowed to support Paul, at least until I change some of my beliefs. Let's take your list:
The only conspracy is what FOX news tells you is a conspiracy. They lead the sheep where they want them to go. If FOX news thinks something of truth is to sensative, and the information provided may incriminate their employers or supporters, they claim it is "Conspiracy" to make the sheep Baah at the information and not research it. It is called "manipulation" and they are in the business of manipulation. Presisely why Ron Paul isn't getting the coverage of the front runners because the Main Stream media doesn't want the sheep to hear his message.....That is a FACT!!
- The Real ID? I am in favor of it. We have to carry around our drivers licenses and a half dozen other pieces of ID anyway, and wind up giving out our ssn's willy-nilly. It's time to get organized with a single card.
Your papers sir??....Sound familiar? This is not NAZI GERMANY!!! This is the United States and I am a free man. I do not answer to anyone but God. No man walking is above me. No authority is above god. This "Real ID" is scary business to me. Not only that, they want to implement RFID chips into the Real ID so that they can track your every move. Sounds like fun aey? I do not want my privacy invaded by government cronies. My privacy is protected under the 4th amendment of the US Constitution and it should remain protected. There in lies the problem of the Real ID act. It is invasion of privacy and it is not American.
They are also pushing Bio-metric scanning and this is even more scary than the Real ID....Where does this crap stop?? Once they get an inch they take a mile and they are systematically trying to subvert the Constitution and proclaim a dictatorship. This is how they work....slowly and systematically.
- Patriot Act? I don't have a big problem with it. I don't think it is abused.
My god man, do you wish to live in a Police State and under Tyranny?? You sound like you are looking forward to the tourture and the invasion of privacy. Do you realize the Patriot Act allows any police officer the authority to kick your door in any time he/she likes? Do you realize the PA allows the government to arrest you for any reason and to imprison you indeffinetly without the right to a trial by jury or the right to answer to the charges. Why?? Because...Posse Comitatus and Habeas Corpus have been suspended by the Bush Administration. Geeez!!
- Fusion Centers? I don't know what this means.
Me either!
- Fema Camps? I don't care.
Great, then when they come for you, gladly walk with them and they will show you were they are and what they are for. I intend to stand my ground and fight these **stards. They are not taking me anywhere against my will, without a court order and probable cause.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=fema+camps
- The growing surveillance industry? If you mean things like cameras in ATM booths and public transit, I'm for it.
Ummmm, you my friend need to live in the Soviet Union, I think you would be much happier there.
- Possible war with Iran? Depends on why it starts.
How about because the Iranians are trading their oil in Euros instead of the good ol US Dollar?.....That's basically why we are in Iraq. This is precisely why we will soon be bombing Iran if they don't stop it.
Watch Mike Rupperts Video " THE TRUTH & LIES OF 9/11": http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8797525979024486145
- Russia's take on it? Russia's agenda under Putin is to create confrontation with the US for domestic gain, so I'm not overly concerned.
I'm concerned when a rouge government is threatening sovereign nations without due process or just cause for threatening them!!
- USA now importers as opposed to exporters? That is bad. Which candidates are for it?
Any candidate with ties to the Council on Foreign Relations and Trilateral Commission.
- The loss of Habeus Corpus? I see nothing happening that bothers me.
Oh, so you are saying that it's ok to arrest people and throw them into prison without due process and the right to stand trial?? Guantanamo??? Torture?? Lying??
- The growing contracted militias? I see nothing wrong with contracting out protection. The state department has been doing it for decades. Normally, the guards are foreign nationals. Why are you not more troubled by that? My only problems with it are waste and accountability. The latter I see only as a problem unique to Iraq - I havn't heard of any incidents elsewhere. I find the idea that they are a private army (sorry, militia) being primed to take over the US laughable.
It may be a laughing matter to you now but when and if they decide to use these paid blackwater malitias on US citizens will you still be laughing?
- Illegal wiretapping? The government should not be doing that. Which candidates are in favor of it? I'm ok with legal wiretapping.
Again, invasion of privacy is unconstitutional and it should not be allowed without probable cause and due process. If you give them a little they WILL take a freakin mile....Give them nothing!!
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.--Benjamin Franklin
- Amnesty for the companies providing the services? Yes, if the government and their lawyers told them that they were acting within their authority.
So if the MOB told your neighbor it was ok to kick your butt twice a week would you think that was ok??
What if they told your banker that they could take 56% of your paycheck every week, you ok with that as well?? Well, they are doing it now so I guess it's ok....
Invasion of privacy is protected under the 4th amendment of the Constitution. PERIOD!!
- The debt we are leaving our children? That is bad. Which candidates are for it?
Any candidate with ties to the Council on Foreign Relations and Trilateral Commission.
- The assault on free speech? What assualt?
Patriot Act!!
- Nafta? It has plusses and minuses.
Illegal Treaties with foreign nations are UNCONSTITUTIONAL. We loose our sovereignty when we allow foreign nations to dictate to us what WE as a Nations will do..
Do my answers disqualify me from the Paul movement? Successfull movements strive for the big tent: unity on a set of common issues, and room for disagreement on the rest.
Nope!!......We are still working on YOU though.....Trying to help you see your flaws and understand your logic....LOL

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/3/2008 5:32:42 PM | If RP never mentioned some of these things, I would have never did my own research. In fact, I wanted to know more. Anyone who knocks someone else for researching is just plain lazy, I'm sure EVERYONE agrees. So here are a FEW things I've found that should at least spark anyone's curiosity if they believe in their freedoms and transparency.
Not given much publicity:
The Real ID has proved the unworkable fiasco 1) (The Real ID) is NOT already in effect. Actually the DHS agreed to set May 2008 as the beginning of a "phase-in" period for implementation of the program (the "phase in" to my inderstanding will fall into age groups), with full compliance expected by May 2013.
The Real ID Act creates a federal identity document that every American will need in order to fly on commercial airlines, enter government buildings, open a bank account, and more. It creates huge administrative burdens for state governments, while providing no federal funds for implementing its onerous requirements. At the same time, it does nothing to combat terrorism, and puts us at greater risk for invasions of privacy and identity theft. Seventeen states have spoken out against the Real ID Act, and conservatives and liberals alike have voiced serious opposition to the law. Privacy and civil rights advocates have objected to the REAL ID plan on grounds that a nationally linked database of drivers' license information would be easy prey for government surveillance or private data-mining companies, as well as for identity thieves and hackers looking to harvest information. Objections were also raised over the possibility of embedding the new licenses with radio-frequency identifier (RFID) chips to ensure their readability by machines. RFID technology has been frequently criticized as both invasive to privacy and easy for hackers to break into. "A centralized ID system is a far greater security risk than a decentralized one with various organizations issuing ID cards according to their own rules for their own purposes," Even supporters of strong measures against terrorism have balked at the potential problems with REAL ID. Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security committee was quoted as saying that the program was "overly burdensome, possibly unworkable, and may actually increase a terrorist's ability to commit identity theft." ~ ACLU https://secure.aclu.org/site/Advocacy?pagename=homepage&id=633&page=UserAction
2) Fema Camps - you can start your research here and continue on your own. What's the big picture??? http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=7763
3) The Gutting of FISA Safeguards ~ ACLU
For five years, on presidential orders, the National Security Agency has been reading email and tapping phones without a warrant - actions explicitly forbidden by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978. Despite this 30-year precedent, Congress and the president colluded in a last-minute Patriot-Act-style vote just before the 2007 summer recess. The resulting legislation lifts longstanding protections between government spying and Americans’ international communications. Congress’ "Police America Act” now gives the NSA a blank check to wiretap Americans without judicial oversight. The ACLU urged members of Congress to resist the president's scare tactics, but caving to White House bullying and base political fears, the Democratic leadership agreed to these reckless changes. No American is beneath the law's protection. And no one - not even a U.S. president - is above the law's limits. Our fundamental system of checks and balances must be maintained if American democracy is to be preserved. http://www.aclu.org/safefree/nsaspying/31203res20070807.html
http://www.aclu.org/safefree/nsaspying/31203res20070807.html
The “Police America Act" (Protect America Act) allows the Attorney General (AG) to issue program warrants for international calls without court review … has no protections for American phone calls and emails that are caught up in the dragnet …provides only a phony court review of secret procedures… requires only meaningless reporting to Congress … has a sunset that may be of little value.
4) Iran ... Seems to me there's trouble brewing. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=PLE20070219&articleId=4844

5) As with the fiat monetary system, there are challenges with teh gold standard as well. Paul leans towards Austrian economics. Here's a good clip to help explain Austrian economics if you care. I realize the issues are complex. http://mises.org/MultiMedia/video/Salerno/Salerno10.wmv
Do some research on CFR, Freedom of Speech assaults, legislation - both being proposed and that which has been adopted right under your noses. There's nothing wrong with eductaing yourself. Our establishment is not wine and roses. You can always start with the ACLU website and go from there. They're not "kooky" - they're watching your back.

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/3/2008 7:10:52 PM | As with anything, if not well thought out and especially without oversight, lets faces abuses of power have and will continue to occur. Why haven't "the people" heard about these things in the media? (The same media who completely and undoubtedly held back Ron Paul from from becoming a familiar name in the general public?
For Immediate Release December 12, 2007 ACLU Releases New Report on Government "Fusion Centers" Says they must be open, carefully monitored and subject to restraints
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Charles Samuelson, Executive Director, 651-645-4097 x123
St. Paul, Minn - The American Civil Liberties Union today released a report outlining serious concerns about new institutions called "fusion centers," which have been created in over 40 states around the nation - including Minnesota. Fusion centers vary widely, but generally are centers intended to improve the sharing of anti-terrorism intelligence among state, local and federal government agencies and the private sector.
"Our report reveals that fusion centers lack oversight, boundary-setting, and checks and balances, which are crucial to protecting the rights of innocent Americans," said Charles Samuelson. "There is a long history of local and federal law enforcement agencies abusing their domestic spying powers. The Minnesota legislature - as well as Congress - must lift the cloak of secrecy, examine these centers closely, and make certain that they are acting within the law - and that they aren't pursuing an ineffective, wasteful, dragnet approach that is diverting Minnesota's resources away from the basic law enforcement needs."
While the ACLU agrees that the ostensible purpose of fusion centers - improving the sharing of anti-terrorism intelligence among different levels and arms of government - is legitimate and important, taken as a whole, fusion centers raise serious questions about privacy and effectiveness.
The ACLU report identifies five specific problems with fusion centers as they currently exist:
• Ambiguous Lines of Authority. Overlapping jurisdictions create the potential for manipulation of differing laws to evade accountability. • Private Sector Participation. Fusion centers are incorporating private corporations into the intelligence process, further threatening privacy. • Military Participation. Fusion centers are involving military personnel in law enforcement activities in troubling ways. • Data Mining. Federal fusion center guidelines encourage wholesale data collection and manipulation processes that threaten privacy. • Excessive Secrecy. Public oversight, individual redress and the very effectiveness of fusion centers are threatened by excessive secrecy.
"The Bush administration is pushing an expansive vision for fusion centers that raises serious question about the direction these centers are headed," said Charles Samuelson. "Using firefighters and other emergency personnel to spy on Americans will undoubtedly lead people to mistrust and fear them. During a fire or medical emergency, this is the last thing anybody needs."
You can also look up this case : American Civil Liberties Union et al., v. National Security Agency et al. Published August 17, 2006 Author: Anna Diggs Taylor In the case of the ACLU v. the NSA, Judge Anna Diggs Taylor of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan found the Bush administration's domestic surveillance program to be unconstitutional and called for a halt to such activities. The ruling states that the surveillance violates the First and Fourth Amendments and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/3/2008 7:39:56 PM | So what is a fusion center? http://www.it.ojp.gov/topic.jsp?topic_id=209 <div class="quote"> 'What Is a Fusion Center? A fusion center is an effective and efficient mechanism to exchange information and intelligence, maximize resources, streamline operations, and improve the ability to fight crime and terrorism by merging data from a variety of sources. In addition, fusion centers are a conduit for implementing portions of the National Criminal Intelligence Sharing Plan (NCISP).''
The ultimate goal of a fusion center is to provide a mechanism where law enforcement, public safety, and private partners can come together with a common purpose and improve the ability to safeguard our homeland and prevent criminal activity. A police officer, fireman, or building inspector should not have to search for bits of information. They should know to call one particular place-the jurisdiction's fusion center.
The Fusion Center Focus Group, whose mission was to further many of the tenets outlined in the National Criminal Intelligence Sharing Plan (NCISP), included experts and practitioners from local, state, and federal law enforcement and public safety agencies, as well as representatives from DOJ, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). In addition, members from national law enforcement and public safety organizations, the private sector, and currently operating fusion centers participated in the focus group's efforts.
The focus group members recommended that the guidelines include all crime types and that centers provide an array of intelligence services. In addition, the group recommended that centers be scalable based on the needs of the city, state, or region and should conduct tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence functions in support of criminal investigations.
Note the guidelines include "all" crime types. "All" means just that ... it's not about, well if you're not doing anything wrong, you don't need to worry .. The potential for abuse is huge. Makes me wonder about Fema Camps.
Anyway, so why are all these things kept quiet from the public? Obviously we have no right to question these things especially because they never make the news. The news only tells what it wants you to know, thats why its important to find other sources. (In my humble opinion)
Hmmm.. even the CFR had something to say about fusion centers .. http://www.cfr.org/publication/13934/crs_report.html
There are several risks to the fusion center concept -- including potential privacy and civil liberties violations, and the possible inability of fusion centers to demonstrate utility in the absence of future terrorist attacks, particularly during periods of relative state fiscal austerity. Fusion centers are state-created entities largely financed and staffed by the states, and there is no one "model" for how a center should be structured. State and local law enforcement and criminal intelligence seem to be at the core of many of the centers. Although many of the centers initially had purely counterterrorism goals, for numerous reasons, they have increasingly gravitated toward an all-crimes and even broader all-hazards approach.

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/6/2008 6:46:11 PM | The media has ignored RP and refused to treat him fairly, they ask rude questions like "you know you cant win" and report false information. If you all want to believe what the bought and paid for media reports fine, that just means they are not going to have to spend much money convincing you that we need a one world government, and implanted ID chip is good for the "safety".. and the other lies and ways they will steal all of your freedom.
Ron Paul is the only candidate running that actually cares about the constitution, you know the one that your fathers, grandfathers and ancestors fought for?? Everyone else wants to ignore it, make up the laws as they go and override the current laws to suit themselves.
I was shocked at how easily the country was fooled, I really thought they were smarter than that, I was told the country was full of mindless sheep that would believe anything, keep eating McDonalds, pay increased taxes, and let the corrupt government enslave them with a smile on their faces, all fighting for the right... I did not believe it, but I do now...
Wake up America, do some research, dont just believe what the media says...
I am sure you will argue, go ahead... what else would you do?

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/6/2008 8:12:37 PM | | Certainly "Betterlate" is correct about Ron Paul. We have not seen anything close to a Ron Paul since Goldwater and Robert Taft before that. Strangely, I was going to write a letter directly to Betterlate and found a message block. I cannot recollect corresponding with this person on PlentyOFish. And had I corresponded, as a libertarian myself, I cannot figure why we would have disagreed forcing BetterLate to put on a message block. I am totally mystified. | |

| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/6/2008 8:17:12 PM | Well, what is apparent to me is that RP supporters are not thrilled with the way things have been. What I question is what are you going to do now that McCain is the man? Who will get your support? Who will RP endorse? that will be a telling moment.... | |
|
| Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/6/2008 8:24:54 PM | | John McCain is my last choice for a REPUBLICAN president. But those of us who back the old style libertarian right conservatism of Ron Paul understand that nearly as important as the Country and Party figure head-----if President, is his power to APPOINT both heads of all the bureaus, departments and COURTS. So, we must bite our lips and promote McCain over the Democrat alternative. That is particularly hard for me because I am also a pacifist. And we know McCain is the opposite to that view. Just remember that all those appointments MUST be REPUBLICAN. I know only too well that appointments under Bush have not been libertarian. But Democrats would have been outright declared--SOCIALISTS or worse | |

Not only is her comments correct, but justified,.....only several people that post refuse to believe that RON PAULS message has been deliberatly IGNORED by the Main Stream Media.
Yeah,...its really hard to get any kind of message out,.....when your being blackballed by the main Stream Media,..................just imagine what the outlook would be if he had the same coverage, as Obama & Hillery, from the start.
Please DO NOT,...turn this thread into a CHAT INFESTED thread,...and get it deleted. If you cant message someone,...thats your problem,...find another way.
Well, what is apparent to me is that RP supporters are not thrilled with the way things have been. What I question is what are you going to do now that McCain is the man? Who will get your support? Who will RP endorse? that will be a telling moment....
I hope RON PAUL will endorse,....... "NONE OF THE ABOVE!"
What have the RON PAUL supporters have to be thrilled about,..besides the fact that this man has set the grass roots efforts, and the Internet on FIRE,.....without the help of the Main Stream Media.
RON PAUL supporters,...are thrilled,..that someone has stood up in the firm beliefs that our country is founded on our Constitution,...and that our Rights, and Freedoms, are slowly being eroded away,......and wants to restore those rights, and get our country back on track.
Ron Pauls agenda isnt trying to force, or show Health Care Reform down our throats.
If,...our country was more worried about it citizens,......and not embroiled in an illegal war thats costing BILLIONS,........if our government was streamlined,.....into a smaller more efective business,....looking out for the benifit of,..... | Congressman Ron Paul for President Posted: 3/7/2008 10:20:56 AM | Remember Bikerbiker53, those who oppose Ron Paul online, make up the minority of people online and in fact, they are also representative of the least informed online and aligned to those who are sympathetic to the US constitution being made void and allowing for the country to become a corporatist or fascist state. Wow aren't they truly patriotic?
In all truth those who attack Ron Paul and his supporters are akin to the computer illiterates of the nation, those who are lacking in technical skills and who do not have technology or the know how to research and learn about all the candidates through unbiased sources.
So in truth, they share the same views as the most ignorant people in the country or better put the least informed amongst us.
Those who are known as elitist supporters have very little if anything to be proud of. In fact they show that they have absolutely no integrity towards the men and women in service.
They are actually most supportive of the military industrial complex and war profiteers. They are for first strike upon weaker nations, nuclear if need be which would be based upon the information that arrives to them from their anonymous sources just like WMD in Iraq and so on.
The elitist supporters/cheerleaders are the ones amongst us who support usury and taxation without representation, they are for the enslavement of the people of the country and in a nutshell, they are not US citizens as is attested in their desire to change the country into a corporate run state.
So many of the fools online who champion the elite owned candidates do so because they believe the candidate they are applauding has integrity towards the people and the nation when in fact, they are giving more strength/power to those who wish to see the nation fall and the people suffer greatly.
By continuing to allow the world central bank to control the fiat/fake money system, the people/nation will continue to suffer until the US is a third world nation.
Why citizens think that European bankers have a special place in their hearts for Americans is beyond me.
The country is in dire straights as the debt and interest continues to rise and enslaves future generations to the global power elite but the minority online and the majority of the nations most ignorant want more of the same.
I feel the only way to wake the public up is to do unleash a national campaign meant to educate the general public on money, especially fiat money and the federal reserve/IRS.
The people need to take this initiative on so as to explain, truthfully, how money actually works and what inflation is and where it comes from, it needs to be people teaching people as the others within the fake economy as in most large corporations and even educational control systems would not like this, imagine if people actually knew the truth about fiat money and learn a little truth about history.
Anyway my friend as you know the US dollar is going to tank, slowly but surely . Many unfortunately will not take any steps to guard against the approaching hyperinflation and these will be the ones hardest hit.
Many who are completely enslaved to material and being amused/entertained will find themselves on the streets and hanging around with other mindless idiots who will surely parish without the plastic Hollywood peons and the illusion of the celebrity world.
The ignorant can not realize that they (celebrities) are all just ordinary people who can "pretend" or play make believe.
So many ignorant fools, gullible people buy into the charade, the game, it is all just a means and a way to transfer wealth from the ignorant to the soulless.
Many also fail to realize that all of the worthless industries that rely upon ignorant and wasteful consumers will all but stop and as follows, all those useless people with useless skills will find themselves in soup lines and living outdoors.
Ah but maybe the government will issue blankets for them like they did for the native Indians. Oh but those were contaminated with the small pox virus.
Now they would not do that to the citizens whom they are employing usury upon, would they? Answer, Yes they would, in a heart beat if it insured they continued on with their control over the people and industry as they have no morals nor integrity, they, politicians are actors as well just like those in the celebrity scam.
Many should research the depression of the 30's and learn what is to come but many would rather learn about Britney's day.
Just so others know, the upcoming depression will be 100 X worse then the one of the 30's. You can research about it and you will find out that the elite owned media of old tried to manipulate the public and the economy for their gain as well and actually, the media, the energy/financial industry leaders plotted to overthrow the federal government in the 30's.
There was a fascist coup and it was stopped by General Butler and in all sincerity, I find it amazing and a disgrace that this important part of history is not taught in schools.
Think about this, a marine general learns of a fascist coup between the leading industrialists in which a plot including the murder of the president at the time and replacing him with a dictator all for the gain of international bankers and their associated industrialists and it is not mentioned in history texts? Why is this? It is because the corporatist movement owns the educational industry where they teach the young what to learn in lieu of how to learn. Google search, The Fable of the Ducks and Hens, this is a great animated short which explains a lot, the corporatist leaning people or globalists do not like this short, just like they do not wish the truth to be taught in school.
You may ask, are they different today? Answer, No, they are actually even worse.
Headlines from Yahoo Financial today........
Employers Slash Jobs by Most in 5 Years- AP
Employers slashed 63,000 jobs in February, the most in five years and the starkest sign yet that the country is heading dangerously toward recession or is in one already.
When hyperinflation hits, they will confirm the recession and then state that a depression is possibly looming.

Paul Admits ‘Conventional’ Defeat By Sarah Wheaton
In a message posted on YouTube on Thursday, Representative Ron Paul acknowledged that he would not be able to win the Republican presidential nomination. “Though victory in the conventional political sense is not available in the presidential race, many victories have been achieved due to your hard work and enthusiasm,” Mr. Paul, of Texas, said in the video, which clocked in at over seven minutes long.
Nonetheless, he said later, he would continue to compete. “The presidential campaign will soon wind down,” he said. “But we do still encourage all effort to gain the maximum number of votes and delegates in all the remaining primaries and to continue the caucus process that’s ongoing in the other states by loyal volunteers.” He added that he would continue to campaign in person around the country. As the Texas primaries approached, Mr. Paul scaled back his presidential campaign in February. He successfully fended off a challenger for the Republican nomination in his Congressional district on Tuesday. Mr. Paul, whose libertarian message centering on opposition to the Iraq war and the Federal Reserve propelled him to record-breaking fund-raising, if not electoral, success, proposed a national rally in Washington on June 21, but said his presidential campaign would not be directly involved. “I don’t mind playing a key role in the revolution, but it has to be more than a Ron Paul revolution,” he said. He envisioned a bleak future, but ended on a hopeful note. “At the rate our economy is slipping, we will likely see the disintegration fo the American empire,” he said. But he later added, “Today’s events should be seen as a tremendous opportunity to change our country for the good.”
