If you take a look at most of the forums that get lots of posts, it's started by women making a generalization about men over a particular instance in her life. Did it hurt him ... maybe its just a tv and a lap top ....did he hurt her oh yeah and that will be a big one to get over. so to answer your question we freak out because we are hurt and men deserve a little in your face therapy to wake the **** up . if he dident cheat hed be at home with her watching his tv and playing on his lap top . that simple.]
And this is supposedly ok because she's a woman? That gives her the right to do this? What about the good men who've had their hearts stomped on over rejection? Or broken because his gf/wife cheated on him? Do they not feel any hurt? Do they not have the right to retaliate in a similar manner on her properties? It's just a TV and a lap top.....a little public humiliation is a good thing.....c'mon. These self-validating statements to justify wrong-doing have to stop. If a man did this, the punishment is anyone's guess. | |

1) In his messy corn rows, vomit-stained wife beater of a tank top, with a bottle of tequila in his hands, he starts yelling out my name on the street, at 3am, bc he wants to get back and declares his " I love yous! " and then followed by a barrage of insults and then uncontrollable sobbing????!
2) Or, how about getting stalked to the point of getting the cops on him?
3) Or, how about this.....him destroying all your paintings and wonderful things you have given him and then dump it at your place...and then come crawling back a few hours later, bawling? | |

I totally agree,,, I like to think I have a little more class and respect for my self as well.
I wouldn't give a man the satisfaction to know I would be that crazy,
Although it does leave a lot of hurt feelings and sometimes a broken heart but I believe everything happens for a reason and I've always said if he doesn't want me, I don't want him.
I get comfort out of my writing and learnt that paper is far more patient than man.,,,,
But it isn't just the men that go into a rage I have seen many women who have done it rather it's out of desperation or what ever the case maybe.. | |

Posted: 12/15/2006 9:33:14 PM | I often wonder about what happens to people who throw things and destroy others belongings on breakup. I try to picture some telling me that on her last breakup she took out some last minute destruction before leaving and was expecting to be trusted enough, not to do that kind of thing again.
Letting our anger take over, and feeling as if we are justified to destroy things dear or necessary to others as way of revenge is way more drama than I would want in my life. We cannot control what others do, and even if they do the things that we detest the most, the best way out is with dignity and class, and the best revenge you can get is to look good and prosper, show them how much life is better without them. You will be more respected by others and by yourself as well.

Its hard when you put your entire self into a marriage and the 2 people you trusted most let you believe everything was fine. Or even just your husband. She obviously caught her husband and best friend in bed. That kind of rage comes from the shatter of the "happily ever after" dream being destroyed. Not to mention the lies and head games. My aunt and her ex husband did this. They built a house and 6 mths later he found someone new. She said it was the broken promises that hurt the most and the question of if you were that unhappy why didn't you just leave. Its amazing how you can wake up in love with someone then hate them by lunch. So her revenge was she tore up ALL his clothes, broke every bow and fishing rod he had, in the end anything that ment anything to him had been destroyed. She left and went to work. When she got home all of her stuff had been destroyed all her Home Interior, her clothes, etc, along with a few select holes in the wall. Its a 2 way street. Whilst he was away she let herself into his house, turned on all the taps and then sprinkled cress seed throughout the house on the carpets. When he returned the cress had sprouted throughout the entire house.
That's not stupid, that's a stroke of pure genius!!
If the man were the one letting himself into her house and doing all those things, most women here would call him a stalker and claim for the police to be called.
I suppose commiting felonies is OK, if the felon is a woman and the victim is an ex-boyfriend.

Posted: 12/16/2006 5:09:21 PM | I dated a woman once that almost went off the deep end (ok well eventually she did go off the deep end but thats another subject all together).
I think the issue was a missunderstanding as to when she was getting off of work and coming over to my place. I was having dinner with my parents and children, something that was spur of the moment, and thought I would be home in time to even make her dinner as well.
Instead I got a call from my ex wife saying that she was at her door demanding to know where I was. I quickly got home, and she was livid that she had to wait nearly an hour for me outside my home. So livid that she seriously contemplated smashing 24 cans of diet pepsi all over my front step. | |

Telephone harassment, stalking, bricks through windows, slashed tires...slicing up clothing that were gifts during the good times...bleach, paint splattered onto a house or a car.
Love-induced psychosis. Of course the mature thing would be to simply dust oneself off and walk away.
One of the best sources of police information is from a lover that got kicked aside, and then they tell all!!
The playa just shrugs, but the rejectee seeks revenge. I think that is very much human nature, even though it is not an admirable quality to claim, but most of us have it.

Posted: 12/16/2006 9:56:19 PM | I think there are a few important ideas that has been overlooked so far in this thread.
1) Throughout the course of getting to know someone and in a relationship with them there are many keys or clues to how they handle themselves in different situations. The totally wacky, scary, neurotic behavior that both women and men display during breakups is the result of emotional immaturity and inability to appropriately cope with the situation. You may not have expected the other persons reaction but there were definitely clues to their lack of maturity before the breakup.
2) There are respectful and disrespectful ways to breakup with someone. Everyone deserves respect and should show it to others in return. (I am not commenting on cheating b/c that's not what this thread is about so don't say that I have unrealistic expectations.)
3) Although a bad breakup or heartbreak can be a painful thing, there are many other very painful life experiences...someone who has gone through other real life challenges might be better at keeping things in perspective, JMO.
