I don’t really spend too much of my time gaming. But I do collect game emulators, that allow me to play the classics, Cool part about it is I have everything from intelivision to n64, along with every game dumped on a 300 gig drive. And a way to convert the actual controller to usb. Kind of a hobby I had and just kept it set up. Lots of my friends that come by just get blown away playing some old school frogger, or Mike Tyson’s punchout. New games don’t do it for me, but I love what they can do graphic wise.

I played some Counter-strike and Ghost Recon some years ago. I actually made a couple of really good "online" friends because of it. Haven't played anything for quite a while but a little Links and Rallysport Challenge on the xbox on rare occasion.

Pc games. Favs, Baldur's Gate series. I've played a lot of video games. More than most. Online, offline, and most categories. Sports is one I never play in except for maybe a racing game.

Games have all the arts combined in something that you actually take part of. Story, music, visual arts, comedy. What's not to like about them...

I'll play games time to time only the sport games though, I can't get into the other games don't have the patiences for em, and the new games make me dizzy with high res 3D graphics, What ever happened to get old games back in the Nintendo days?

There's an online game called runescape.

I play it a lot.

There's quite a few people online.

It's a cheap version of worlds of warcraft.

Seems to be a winter hobby for me. I don't have time in Spring/Summer/Fall. It helps fill in the idle hours between work and snow sports. I like RPG's mostly - Balder's Gate, Icewind Dale, etc and strategy games - Shogun, Chess, etc

I prefer the old classics from the 16-bit days. I made an online gaming portal application for a gaming company last year and found my way into playing *a lot* of Battlefield 2 :)

I'm not really a gamer at all, but every once in a while I pass some time playing "Call of Duty".
Got all 3 on my PC, installed by a friend who used to come here to play, so I kinda got sucked into them a bit.
All good fun.

On computer only, or have you sat down with the books and a dungeon master? I have played editions 1-3 so far. I don't seem to have the patience to learn all the rules with a computer, but I have some awesome characters from playing with a group. I've even played Chaotic Evil DnD. It's a hoot.

I'm addicted to GTA...it's scary because I can't put it down.

I'm waiting for the day when the graphics are indistinguishable from
the real world...image GTA that way?

And X-box live.

Considering San Andreas looked like a PS1 game, you're going to have a long long wait.

( Don't bother arguing this, I already understand perfectly why SA looks so terrible; It has so much going on at one time, that if it looked like... say... Kingdom Hearts 2... the PS2 would melt )

Oh, and while we're on the subject of sandbox games, avoid Saint's Row. It's nothing more than a dumbed down GTA with obnoxious wiggers left, right, and center. Wait for GTA4 coming out next year.

I play a bit of everything (arguably too much of WoW).

I used to be big into the RTS games, then the RPG games, then HUGE into FPS (Counter-Strike). Now, the latest addiction is WoW.

MMORPG's, RTS's, Strategy and Word Games. Slowly overcoming my WoW addiction of the last year and a half. However, Warhammer lies on the horizon, as does the WoW add on, so who knows what the future will bring. Very old school gamer here; I had Pong. Atari 2600 and Intellevision..LOL!

Have fun ;)!

In high school I was really into computers and gaming, then it kinda wore off on me for a while. But lately, I've been back into it. I think my all-time favorite RTS is Total Annihilation. There is a new one coming out called Supreme Commander I believe that I think I will have to pickup. WarZone 2100 was a good RTS for the storyline, but didnt like it so much multiplayer. The FPS are great when you dont want to really use your brain, just kill things. Doom was good, but I thought Duke Nukem 3D was better, he had better lines. "Your Face Your Ass Whats the Difference" Classic. Counter Strike I think is one of the best FPS, even with new ones out its the baseline I think. However I just downloaded the demo to BattleField 2142 and that seems pretty kewl. I might have to buy that one. The MMOs are fun, but I just hate buying a video game them having to pay each month to play it. Final Fantasy XI Online was awesome, the graphics and gameplay, but 13 a month, come on.

There is an internet tv reality show (kinda a reality show) about a pro-gamer. I think its pretty funny. Episode 12 comes on on internet release 6 november. Check it out at www.purepwnage.com

Anyone else miss those open ended classics like Wing Commander Privateer?
Or the flexible subplots in Darksun Shattered Lands?

Or the incredibly stupid but nostalgically fun oldies like galaga, centipede, tron light cycles?

A guy, instead of a girl, asking other guys?

Only games I like are Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Grand Theft Auto Vice City. I just like to kill, kill, kill! Hehe, just kidding.

While I detest the current war games that are available because it glorifies war as "fun", Wolfenstein is a good team game and its based on a WW2 battlefield. The fun part is playing against other people online. Vice City is fun because it allows you to explore the virtual city and drive around in different vehicles while listening to cool music.

Okay, now you made me want to play games again! Bye!

I used to play (taking a mild break from it atm) the biggest, baddest MMORG on the planet World of Warcraft. 7.5 million subscribers and growing. Amazing how many women/couples play this game too. Talking to many people over headset from all over the world simultaneously is a blast. You get to actually do things together and chat with all your friends around the world at the same time using your voice. Ventrilo rocks!

If you like this sort of gaming you should try Neverwinter Nights 1 and soon 2 coming out, they put those obnoxious pen and paper rules into MMORG form and you can play it online now. The graphics are UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE.
