Posted: 11/5/2007 8:25:44 AM | That just isnt right suggesting to people to have the weight loss surgery because it is a easy way out of being over weight! I have had friends that have surgery and you know what, they are more miserable now than they were before the surgery! Complications happen and I have heard it from a lot of people not just one story!
Men dont have to like BBW they just have to like themselves! Live your life for you and not for who likes you and who dont like you!

Not something one would go out and choose to have done on a whim for certain, and it's certainly not appropriate for somebody that *can* reasonably diet and workout and take off the pounds! A lot of people just need to get the lead out!!!

I dont think OP was looking for someone to say lose weight get a face lift change your looks so people will like you! That is crazy!
How is "live your life for you and not for who likes you and who dont like you" contradicting?

Im glad it turned out for that gentleman, but the truth is good results are not always typical with any procedure. Besides, if he has to eat a healthy diet, exercise and no more fatty foods ever... did they really do anything for him he couldn't do for himself by following the exact diet he was put on after surgery? All they did was make his stomache smaller so he wouldn't get as hungry inbetween meals. If you stick to a diet long enough, your stomache will eventually shrink on its own.

As a BBW and a former Plus sized Fashion model I can tell you yes, Men can fall for a BBW. However I am someone who let myself gain weight over my usual after an ankle injury and I am dieting and working out but am not as healthy as I used to be.
Even so I get hit on a lot! Its the personality lades, if you take care of yourself, send out that smile, laugh, believe inside you are beautiful, sexy and loved then you will be!!!
Yes I am single again and looking, my choice after leaving a bad relationship. But love comes in all shapes and sizes so never ever settle and never ever give up hoping, wishing or believing its out there!

Posted: 11/13/2007 7:45:40 PM | i think it is a matter of preference....we all have them. i dont feel men should be judged if they do not prefer larger women just as larger women should not be judged for liking smaller men. its all in each individual. to some, it doesnt matter at all. i think bbw's have a tendency to think poorly of themselves even when they try to portray that they dont. they belittle themselves. be proud of who you are, not what you are. i am a bbw and i love me. your attitude also has alot to do with things and how others perceive you. just my opinion.... | |

Gives a whole new meaning to the word "FAT". Actually, as a larger sized lady, I have had more fun than I ever did when I was a tiny little thing and nothing but boobs and eyeballs. When I was young I was very thin. I maintained that thinness through out my twenties and mid thirties now I am wearing 14-16's by American standards that is too large, but I am happy. I do desire to lose a little weight for health and blood pressure reasons also so I can live to see my granchildren grow old, but that is all. I am single and very happy.  | |

I just ran across this message board, what an interesting topic to discuss. I have always been thick, at times thicker then I wish to be. lol But I have never thought of myself any lesser or better then any other woman, skinny or thick. I know who I am, I am comfortable with whom I have become.
People are attracted to me I believe because of my personality, my charm, the way I can make them feel comfortable. I don’t care for negativity around me, if this is what you have to bring to the table, I pull away.
What I am trying to say here is, we should not focus so much on what we look like on the outside but truly look at what we look like on the inside. Once we have taken that step we then can move on.
We each have different preferences, some like chocolate, others prefer vanilla, and you know that is alright. Meaning, I am attracted to tall men, yet there are woman who prefer short men, what is the difference when men prefer not so thick woman to thicker woman or vise versa. Again that is our choice, do we not have a mind of our own to make this choice? Once again, why get so hung up on the fact do men truly like BBW, of course they do!!! We all have different taste, we all have different likes. I don’t like a thin man; does that make me a bad person? Or does this make me just like everyone else. NO of course not, this is who I am. I prefer chocolate to vanilla.
Why do we get caught up on a size? Why not get caught up on what we as individuals can do to make us smile? What would make you as an individual happy? I believe once we are happy, things come into perceptive. I am happy with whom I am, I like who I am.. I am a Mom, A Friend, a Woman! I am a sexy, classy woman, this I believe it in my heart, so when you believe it you live it. I might wear a size 16, but that does not stop me from being who I am. Believing in what I have become.
On that note Ladies, I close by saying: Take care of yourselves, your body, your mind, and your soul!

sure, men fall for BBW. BUT it seems as if BBM/BBW never seem to fall for each other. BBW seem to want the thin/athletic guy, and more than likely wouldn't give an overweight man the time of day. Vice versa, really overweight men seem to always want the thin/supermodel looking woman.
In my experience BBM/BBW are just as shallow/superficial as everyone else. | |

I've had such bad luck with men... you wouldn't believe it. In all honestly, I did/do blame it on my weight, but recently I've come across a few men that let me in on some insight. Its not about the way you look, but the way you come across. Strange as it may sound, it seems to do alot with confidence. Now, I don't think I'm anything special and on top of that I am a BBW, something that I think puts me at a disadvantage. Well, the guys I've talked to have said some really nice things and they appreciate my looks, something that seems so strange to me. As it turns out, my lack of confidence is what turns them off. Grant it, they understand that I didn't just wake up one day and say "Hey wouldn't it be fun to have low self-esteem today?!" I definitely had help with that, but the point is, if I don't believe in myself, noone will. I've watched both fat and thin women walk down the street, and when you see a woman hold her head high and walk with a strong confident stride, you can't help but look her way, no matter what her size is. I put the theory to test, not really meaning to, but at the end of the night I noticed a difference. I was out with friends and I wasn't really caring what people thought about me, yet i felt really good. Sure enough, I guess that came though because I got hit on 3 times that night, something that has never happend to me before... so I guess there is truth in it. Does that make sense? Do other people feel the same way? | |

How one comes across, whether physically, emotionally, or subconsciously, tells the other person what they need to know. But, hey, I’m no psychologist… just spouting off what I believe based on my experience.
Think about it – when in public, what makes you notice one guy over another? Okay, maybe the cute one first, or the stud-muffin… but if they are too shy, too meek, or can’t form coherent sentences, is that really what you want? Same with guys… the real men want a woman who is an equal, not a wallflower, not a shy little prissy girl. (Well, some do, but that’s another story. LOL)
And, the other life lessons? Well, from what I’ve figured, there’s still about a cagillion to go – more than enough for many lifetimes! All the best to all of us! | |
