Posted: 2/9/2009 10:46:08 AM | | Has to be this mom and pop`s place in Mounatin Ontario. The owner loved trains as a little boy so all his pizzas are named after train types. All his ingredients are fresh. Like the ham is from the butcher and they cook it and but it on the pizza. All his vegetables are from their garden. One piece is like eating three. A little pricey but absolutly fantastic pizza. | |

Posted: 2/9/2009 12:39:20 PM | | A little place about 25-30 west of Chicago (the best pizza town in the world) is a place called Zippy's located in Hoffman Estates,IL. While it claims to be the home of the cheezy beef, for me it's the home of Chicagoland's best pizza. I now live about 55 miles from there and have driven there just to get a cheese, sausage, and mushroom with medium crust and extra sauce. God, I've got myself drooling. Looks like it's time for a road trip! | |

For an unsual but good tasting pizza is Piquads in Niles,IL. The sauce is just right and they do something to the crust that you would think it kill the taste. The burn the edges of the crust. It's ben awhile since I have been there, since I live up in cheeseland. I think its time for a road trip to Zippy's, Piquads and then for desert Gene and Jude's......... | |

Posted: 2/10/2009 7:16:16 PM | When i lived in Toronto I practically lived off of "Mama's Pizza." It started out with a couple locations and is growing quickly. I get a slice whenever I go back and visit.
Now I live in Winnipeg, and I get my pizza fix from "Little Pizza Heaven." Two slices and a drink for 5 bucks and they paint the crust with a butter garlic sauce. Yum, it's making me hungry just thinking about it. | |

Posted: 2/23/2009 1:37:03 AM | Ray's Pizza, which while it is essentially a chain from NYC it is the most pure New York style pizza I've ever had that I wasn't actually eating in NY.
The only other one here in Arizona is called Amoroso's but I don't think they're in business anymore. Haven't been there in years. | |

i can also recommend one in schuylkill county, pa. Dimaggio's in minersville. the pizza is cheap, and the meat is dried out before cooking, so its not a total greasepit. the taste is freakin awesome.

but as far as hometown pizza, we have brooklyn pizza here in NC. their pizzas are very thin and HUGE. authentic brooklyn style pizza.
as far as commercial pizza, Godfathers pizza is the best hands down. they only have it in the army base where i live. i mean seriously, this pizza is so good, its thick, the cheese is great, the sauce is great, and they load it with toppings. its hands down my favorite pizza. you can really taste the quality of the ingredients used. especially the cheese. | |
