When you are prone, it doesn't matter so why should it matter when you aren't?

Well, I love it when my men are taller than me. A lot of the guys I've dated have been at least 6' tall which puts them over half a foot taller than myself. I love the guys that are 6'3" to 6'5"!!!!

I am tall for a girl, my only requirement is that I can wear heels once in awhile without the guy feeling awkward.

Besides, horizontally height isn't an issue is it?

blah!

Someone had to say it.

I wonder if I could find a guy below 5'0 that was over 12 years old... Hurm...
Because of that, I've never had to deal with dating guys usually even remotely close to my height :P

Is it really a question of being shallow?

It's like liking chicken burgers more than cheeseburgers! Except our dating preferences, I guess, make people bitter and/or give them complexes. So the people with preferences are the bad guys.

I was told I was too short for a guy in the last few weeks. It was fair enough. Hooray for those who are accepting of the way things are and are looking for someone to suit them instead of complaining.

Also to add: It's true that the ideal height difference for best sex was researched and found to be within a few inches (guy being taller)

oh the height debate...

i don't think it will ever go away... but i don't think it is acceptable circumstances... more like personal preference... and why would you not date someone who is amazing just because he is your same height... and or shorter... i say go for it... big, small.... like em all

I wonder why I don't care about height? LOL
ABWeezy...
probly cause you realize there are more to a person than the height issue. When I was younger, sure there was the typical tall, musician type body male I was always attracted too with long hair - but I missed out on some great guys because I was young and cared more what other people thought. As I hit my 30's - I was looking for more - and again with the shorter one - i had the time of my life. He treated me so great - we had fun - his personality made up for whatever he was lacking in height. When he was around - people forgot how short he was - he used to take over a room. Yah - he was in the music biz - so he had so much confidence it was scary sometimes :) I don't care how tall the next guy would be (if there is) - but if he can make me feel the way that this guy did - I would consider myself one lucky broad!

Looks like we can chalk this one....... up to personal preference.

I like/prefer him to be taller.

I don't really care TOO much... it seems to feel a bit more "normal" when the girl's a bit shorter... I dated a girl a bit taller than me once... I didn't really care, but she said it seemed a bit weird with my arm around her, and what not.

But as long as they aren't like, towering over me, I could really care less.

i just remember that when i was 18 or so I was dating a real short girl....and one day we had to go mail a letter. When we got to the letter box...it was taller than her! And of course, being young, I had to point it out (tho, I wonder if I'd do the same today? hmmmm). Things were never quite the same afterwards. From that day on, I prefer my girls taller than mailboxes!

It's definitely not a shallow thing to say.. it is personal preference.. coming from a guy who is barely 5'5 (Yes, I lied in my profile, I'm like 5'4 and 3/4 or something the last time I checked, which was a few years back).

I have my preferences that probably won't allow me the chance to potentially meet some great/beautiful (inside or out) girls, but if you're not attracted to them, you're not attracted to them..

My 2 cents worth...I'm 5'10" and dated a 4'11" lady who was too short, and a 6'2" lady who was too tall. My ideal would be about 5'6" to 6'0".

And to those women who say they're not shallow and height is a preference, how would you respond if I said I only like women with D-cup or bigger breasts. Is that not superficial??

I've dated between 5'4" and 6'4". My longest relationship (6 years) he was 5'4"....My ex-husband was 6'2".

It doesn't really matter to me. Dating and meeting someone compatible is difficult enough without adding in "criteria" like height.

I don't even care anymore. If they are nice and want to spend time with me... that's what matters to me.

I'll volunteer to take all the men that are 5'6''. That is my preferred height

Well now, I am just over 5'6"

Difficult is not supposed to be in the vocabulary .....

If they are nice and want to spend time with me... that's what matters

now there is the definitive solution!!

So, the height aspect is out of the way, but as soon as the AGE thing comes to the forefront!!!!!! It's to the back burner in the wood-shed for this gent, but why????

Height is of little consequence, except for personal preference, so why does age mean so much to many as well, or is that to be considered in another thread??

You are only as old as you feel, and some of us "old fa**'s" feel quite young at times and could even be considered a bit frisky (but not given the chance)!!

I'm 6'1 and I've dated as short as 5'2" and as tall as 6'8" and I've gotta say, the 5'2" Was awkward, more for him than anything, when I was sitting down and he was standing up we were the same height/ I must say it doesn't matter if the guy is shorter than me as long as he's not toooo much shorter.
